Lily walked in with her hair in perfect curls falling past her shoulders. A black skirt clung to her legs and left little to the imagination. Her slim waist covered with a flowing blouse in a bright pink shade. Her neck was weighted because of the large diamond pendant hanging from it.
Her eyes went immediately to Veroen and the woman in the room. A flame of jealousy clouded her eyes and snapped her back to her original position that put her walls back up.
She sparked a cigarette and tore into the brown paper bag that she had in her hand. A bottle of vodka emerged and she popped the top off and took a swig.
"I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"

Veroen stood up when he heard his door open. He turned around to see, to his great surprise, Lily. His eyes lit up, and he rushed over to her, embracing her in his arms. It had been so long since he had seen her, he didn't even know if she was still alive or not, until now.
"Lily! Oh my god i missed you so much!" Veroen said, hugging her with a full crushing force.

"Oh?" she said as she raised an eyebrow as she turned to look at him, "Try me. We'll see if you're right or not. Hm ... I wonder what it is but there are so many possibilities that I'm not even going to bother to guess because I know that I'm going to fail at guessing since I'm just horrible at guessing games. You know that game where someone gives you clues and hints and usually they make no f**king sense so that it confuses the s**t out of you and when you guess something they laugh so that they second guess themself."
It was clear that she was pretending to be somewhat detatched and disinterested, just trying to play it casual but it was fairly easy to read that the human was rather interested and actually wanted an answer to the question. However, as soon as a woman vampire entered the room she visibly grew uncomfortable and though she didn't look at Veroen, she shot a nasty glare at the wall ahead of her.
"Nah," Meredith answered the lady vampire as she hopped off the bed, breathing still somewhat shallow, "I was just leaving ..."
The huntress awkwardly began making her way out of the room, wanting nothing more than to get out of there and high tail it somewhere else. She had no idea that Vereon had some lady friend and though she hadn't been consciously thinking about being more than just friends with him the appearance of the woman brang a realization ... She liked the vampire, of course not love or anything, that was absurd but she ... SO INCREDIBLY STUPID AND DUMB!
'Oh f**k my life ...'
She proceeded to gather her effects as well as her winter coat and made her way out the door as quickly as she possibly could. This was ridiculous ... but at least it explained why she hadn't shot him in the face when he'd started feeding from her ... Things just weren't supposed to work out for her and this situation made her feel as if Veroen had breached her trust when really she hadn't thought she'd trusted him in the first place. She was stupid and no matter what, even if she was kind of distant she managed to get hurt.

Lily hugged him back and kissed his cheek.
"Miss me?" she smiled and gave him a peck on the lips "So who was that?"

Veroen's faced turned grim whenever he realized that the situation was not good... in fact it was extremely awkward. Veroen let go of lily just as Meredith left the room, after Lily had kissed him. 'Damnit....f**k...' Veroen thought to himself. holding his head in his hands. For some reason he felt bad for both of them. He felt bad because he felt as though it was his fault that both of the girls had been put in that situation.
'Yes, actually, i did." Veroen said, now having a headache.
's**t. meredith's upset...' he thought to himself.
He looked at Lily, and got up and kissed her for a moment.
"I missed you so much." Veroen said, then added, "What happened? Where did you go?"

"Well it had been awhile since I had seen you and I tried my damndest to find you but I went out of town for awhile. Get a breath of fresh air and all that, and doing a bit of shopping didn't hurt either"
Lily could see the expression on his face and knew she had to try and crack the code. She focused as much as she could and heard the woman's name.
She clenched her jaw and tossed her cigarette out the window before downing more of the vodka before screwing the cap back on and setting it on the bed, just in case she needed to express her anger through violence.
"You weren't expecting me to come back, were you?"

Veroen suddenly remembered that she could hear thoughts. His eyes widened, now more stressed. 'DAMNIT. DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT!' Veroen thought to himself. He sighed, and rested his face in his hands, knowing she was angry with him.
'No, honestly i didnt. last thing i remember was a was on my way back to see you, here, and then suddenly i woke up in a coffin, to a whole different city apparently a year later, and hardly anyone is still alive, and missing. You were no where to be found, the FBI knows about us, they have been capturing and torturing immortals of all species, and there is not a war against each other anymore, but against the hunters and the FBI." Veroen said, still holding his face in his hands. "I didn't know if you were dead, or missing, or captured. I didn't know anything." Veroen added, before pausing.
"That was Meredith, the only one i have recognized from before i was unconscious for a year. I befriended her, but there was no love between us." Veroen said, now standing up, and going to his window, looking out towards the city.

Lily sat on the bed, legs crossed and sparked another cigarette. She grabbed the ashtray that she put on the beside table and set it beside her. She took a few hit and walked over to the window, gently laying her hand on Veroen's shoulder.
"I believe you, she just seemed a little too cozy with you and I didn't know what to think. When you left I couldn't find you and nobody could put me in your direction. I spent weeks trying to find you and I had to leave, for my sanity. I switched back to my old ways and there was some chaos made on my part," she grinned at the thought "but I worked through it, and I knew one way or another I would find you or you would find me"

Veroen stared out the window with an emotionless stare, his mind going wild. He said nothing as she finished her statement. Never before had he had so many mixed feelings since he had been an assassin. It used to be only him, no care for anyone else. Now he got someone whom he cared for back, at the expense of someone who was close to him. Veroen's insides began to hurt, knowing that Meredith was hurt by all this. He felt horrible for it all. He could feel her crying somewhere out there. He was overswept with guilt.
His outside appearance gave no hint to any of this going on inside him. He kapt his silent Assassin's composure, a reflex for anything that caused any type of pain. He stood there, like stone. not moving an inch.

Nicholas knocked on the door of the apartment, looking around in stunned silence. It was amazing, absoloutely amazing. The shock had just begin to hit him, the aching question deep within him.. "We have a secret hide-out? What are we, villains from He-Man?" He knocked on the door the second time with the side of his fist. "Why have I been living in a Fed-Ex box when there were apartments available? Do they have a vendetta against me already?" He wondered, trying to peak through the key-hole. He then realized he was picking up stray thoughts from the two in the room, and concentrated, eaves-dropping telepathically. From what he could gather, Veroen found Meredith attractive, and Meredith was hungry. T'was the way of the world. He didn't understand it, when-ever he sought out interaction in this city all he saw were the most literal meaning of inter-racial couples, Lycans holding hands with Vampires, Vampires being in love with Hunters, Tainted being in love with everyone. He began to ponder why the races were at were, enough were bonking each other, surely the majority of the votes asked for peace so they could shag quietly. And in each case it was called Forbidden love, the first time it happened maybe, but now it was more of a social norm then two humans falling in love!
He pondered the meaning of this as he continued to knock on the door occasionally.

Veroen was about to lose it. "HOLD ON!!" He angrily shouted at his door, after hearing knocking again and again. he then looked at Lily with a pleading look in his eyes. "why?" he asked her.

The look she gave him completely tore him apart. The agony of the situation was unbearable. He hadn't felt pain like this since he had been human. This city had indeed changed him. He was once a hardened assassin with no regard for others. Now he was soft, and he was being torn apart by it.
He looked at Lily, agony in his eyes, unable to speak.
