And so far, the only paladin skill sounds like retardation to me.

Martyr - "Redirect all harmful spells directed at friendly targets to yourself for $d."

Oh wow, a great spell for tanking... ohwait, when I tank no one takes any dmg but aoe dmg... I guess I can I eat a raid-wide aoe & ******** die. Super. lol

This might hint at a change of boss fight mechanics. Or it's just a dumb talent that Blizzard is testing out.

Does anyone remember the talents that were linked from the TBC alpha? Some of the stupidest s**t in the world.

my guess is its just some stuff blizzard through in just for the hell of it since they are the ones playing and they enjoy some of these talents though they realize they can be unbalanced or plain retarded for normal players. my BIGGEST guess is there is alot of GM stuff thrown in there that will never see the light of day like <.kill> will never be seen by a player less you go to a private server

Titan's Grip - Allows you to equip two-handed axes, maces and swords in one hand, but you attack 28/26/24/22/20% slower then normal

Is ******** what I was afraid of. Monkey grip is a retarded feat in DnD, it should not be allowed in an already retarded game. The swing speed doesn't even compensate for it.

Yes, that's right. You know better than the game designers (despite the success of the game already), whose job it is to know. Somehow, all of their years of experience and success pale in comparison to the mighty Word of Karnokoto.

There is a reason why they removed Titan's Grip in BC.
You've never played DnD, I will assume. Or if you have, you haven't played it to the extent where you know what feats, enchants and cross class combos will munchkin a campaign out to the point where the DM just goes 'Well. That was dumb. ******** this, rocks fall and you die. I'm ******** going home.'
9/10 times, in those campaigns, someone had Monkey Grip.
Not to say the devs don't know what they're doing 100% of the time, they have a decent thing going and the decisions they've made so far have been acceptable.
But a game needs to have balance. DWing 2handers is retarded, you know it in your heart to be true. Imagine a warrior running around with 2 Sun Eaters crossed over his back. He looks ******** awesome, true. But he cries himself to sleep at night for how silly it is, deep down inside.

Also as a side note I'm so glad you understand how much more I know about everything than you ^^ Its a small victory, but a victory nonetheless.

It worked well in Diablo, it can work here. Obviously, blizzard extensively tests everything--if they end up keeping it in, it won't be overpowered, it won't be underpowered, it will be balanced because blizzard knows what they are doing. They probably know about the DnD fault and the definitely know why they didn't implement it in BC, and they're still ready to give it another go. I'd definitely trust them not to ruin their own game.

Reminds me when shamans got DW.
Everbody was was like.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG
DW WILL MAKE THEM OVERPOWERED!
Then it happens and it really wasnt that big of a deal.

Well, as far as spirit goes, it's quite logical to me actually. Locks have a talent that increases their stam and lowers their spirit. Right now that talent has no downside to the decreasing part of it. They're making spirit more viable for casters in general, there are only a few classes left that don't benefit at all from having spirit on their gear. Additionally, offset gear without spirit on it, while awesome on paper, disadvantages certain classes such as the shadow priest and mage, who frequently get innervates. (atleast in my guild)

Spirit is the last broken item stat in this game, I'd more than love for it to be made useful for every caster class.

Spirit should be converted to a Class/spec talent base.
Warriors get more AP out of it.
Warlocks get more spell damage.
I dont know something like that.
Making specfic and not a junk stat to half the classes in the game.

.... Most stats are junk for about half the classes in the game. Maybe they should change all of those as well? lol.

And afaik the mechanic change on spirit they put in a few patches ago kinda fixed it. I mean, its intended to be regen, so I dont know how they could further "fix" it to be useful for everyone.

Well, think about the priest's guardian spirit. Maybe even a bubble. It really is a hint of boss tactics to come.

My favorite is....

Quote:
Divine Hymn (level 70, instant, 750 mana, 10m cooldown) - "You recite a holy hymn, granting your party protection from attackers. Any attacks done to you or your party will cause the attacker to be afflicted by sleep for 20 sec. Divine Hymn will last 10 sec."

Can't wait to see that one in arenas. I mean, it's not quite as OP as it sounds at first glance, but it'll still be funny to see... Mass CC ftw!

Actually, if you bubbled for that, you could eat the whole aoe, and not be damaged in the least... just a thought you should take into consideration...

I do believe Martyr has been found to be a Drake skill in one of the Nexus encounters.

It could be both though.

If it's a paladin skill & not an NPC skill as Void points out, I am 99% sure it will activate Forebearance like any semi-cool paladin spell does. >_<

One day paladins will be able to use bubbles like priests, only they'll be OP like they are now, and paladins will still QQ about them.

Yes, paladin bubbles are so overpowering that they've taken double DPS teams in twos, as it's obvious that a Paladin shines there.

Wait.

What?

I currently hate playing a paladin in 2s right now. I play my undergeared druid (undergeared cause he's sitting at 75k honor and 5k arena points for S4) with half the resilience, like 3k less life, 800 less healing, and I do just as good... I'm really really anxious to see the new paladin talents and skills... Hopefully something that will make paladins more viable in 2s! (I'm so tired of 2s as a paladin I'm ret for S4! =])
