Oh! She was so direct and on the spot about it! How feisty... it made him feel a little bashful to be so matter of fact, but at the same time, he found that only seemed to be something else to make him like her. He appreciated her honesty.
Honesty... it wasn't in him to be dishonest. However, he was still mostly coming to terms with ... his feelings. Since he met her, he felt so many waking up inside of him. Some of them were consuming and made it hard for him to think properly.
He hadn't moved for a moment when she began to move. The tugging on his hair. It sent ripples of tingles all through him. He tried as dearly as he could to muffle an almost involuntary moan. It was a feeling he hadn't had before. It was pleasant. He hoped maybe she would do it some more.
When she walked away, his eyes roamed all over her. He was drinking in the image of her walking. He admired the way her tail just fell around her rear hooves so nicely.
Her question brought him back, and he thought he better not take too long to say. He stepped softly to follow after her, but this time he did so without the hyper and over the top excitement he had been running around with that morning.
"I feel... like... something inside of me is on fire. When I smell you, that burning just starts to burn hotter, harder, and more fierce than before. It's like a tide of wind.. that can come and hit my wings sometimes. And, it has a current all of its own that I can't really do but submit to its pushing until I find shelter. Except... I don't feel like I need shelter from the burning really. "
He then walked up more closer to her. "Mmmmm.... I feel like... I don't want to let you out of my sight. And.. not for fear of you running away either. I just... I want to look at you all the time. I want to smell you. I want to feel you close to me like when we were sleeping beside the teepee. and..."
He paused briefly and lifted his head to look towards her; his eyes brimming with earnest. "I just feel and hope inside that... you could feel that burning feeling."

'I knew there was something, as I said, even somebody as guarded as I am can tell. You're so open, emotions blaze brightly from you. I fear..getting burned, because I am not sure that I can be that for you yet. It is fire, and sometimes I want to shrink away from it because I've not ever known this before.'
Sohalia looked at him after stopping once more, staring almost, an unwavering gaze from her eyes to his as she spoke, showing him that all her words were true, nothing to hide. She had to do it this way so that he wouldn't misintrepret, or second guess what her feelings were behind her words.
'I guess for now I am flickering embers, waiting for that rush of air - understanding and trust - the air that will make my spark burn.' she gave a small, secret smile just for him, and nudged him gently.
'Come,' she asked, turning and moving off again, to follow the river. She wanted them to spend time alone before they returned to his herd home.
(( I think we can maybe time skip this after your next post, and include the pregnancy and birth in the one rp ))

((rewrite:: sorry! ^_^))
Vohamanah followed quickly after her. There was that smile again. It was slightly almost devious and inviting from his stand point. What kind of signals was she trying to give him.
He was feeling a bit confused. On one hand, he got signals from her that she wanted him. She wanted him to stand by her and nibble on her. That she liked being close to him. Then, she'd turn around and chastise him about needing her space.
Still, he furrowed his brow and followed after quickly. "Yes Ma'am! You're the boss." He smiled at her; "But you know... I can't say that I've ever felt this kind of burning inside myself either. But... it's there. I'm not one to deny my feelings."
Though he would be one to do well enough with another's feelings. He was impetuous and assuming at times; however, he wouldn't ever blatantly put his own will before another knowingly.
His tail twitched from side to side. This wild pulsating feeling he had. His need for her. His need for her to stay, to stay with him. It was giving him boldness whereas he didn't really need it in the first place. Then he caught that look in her eyes.
"Whenever you are ready for some unbridled loving, I will be here to lavish it on you." He tried to wink playfully; however, his growing feelings and wrestlessness made him feel like he was losing control. Hopefully she wouldn't notice.
The very image of her standing in front of him like that with that look on her eyes and the secret smile. He had to half lid his eyes and take a breath. Wasn't she something... It might have been right about then.. that he realized that he loved her. That he wanted to keep her with him all the time... and have her stand like that... many many times.. and to share such a pretty sight with noone else.

. . . . . . . . . . Time had passed, and Sohalia had spent much of it with Vohamanah, mostly just being with him, talking and letting him in, inch by inch behind the walls surrounding her heart.
When she wasn't by his side, she would wander around the area where his family lived, carefully mapping it all out internally, finding the hidden areas, the quiet places she could slip away to when talk and the closeness of his family got to be too much for her nerves.
She'd had one of those longings recently, slipping away for a few days, sliding from shade to shadows, a moving spot of inky darkness, alone with her thoughts...or so she assumed. What was troubling her now was that in the last month her belly's girth had changing considerably, she was a lot rounder and her gait had a slight swing to it when she walked.
Sohalia had an inkling as to the cause, hence her thinking that as she walked she wasn't walking alone. She was pregnant. The thought slightly panicked her because it meant letting others into her life; her children. And she couldn't push them away, it wasn't their fault their mother craved solitude because of what had happened to her own parents.
Those and many other thoughts were rattling around in her head as she headed back to where she could find Vohamanah. There had been a fleeting moment when she had considered running, but there was a reason she was in this condition and that was because she'd trusted him enough to get that close. With a thudding heart she walked along the riverbank towards the teepee, sniffing the air as she went, trying to locate him.

Vohamanah over this time had begun to actually realize how much she was growing to mean to him. The more he came to realize it; the more he knew that feeling had come to him right away. He just wasn't able to know what it was.
He had talked to several girls before meeting Sohalia, but noone ever stirred up his feelings like she did.. or his hormones for that matter. Being around Sohalia made him change how he was living. Before, he was always flying off looking for another adventure.
Now he found himself with no desire to go anywhere. He just always wanted to walk with Sohalia, and he wanted talk with her. He wanted to smell her and look upon her. Look upon her he did. He hadn't been sure what was going on. He did notice her belly getting bigger; but maybe their oats did it to her. Maybe she hadn't been properly nourished before.
But, when he looked at her, she just seemed even more striking. Every so often, he had gotten these knowing looks from his parents. Everyone was kind to not say anything or pry; still.. those looks. Were they able to know something he didn't?
It was these things he was contemplating while eating a nice soft patch of grass just to the east of the teepee. Before she found him, her scent in a breeze past his nostrils. He closed his eyes for a moment, savoring that smell. Lifting his head, he began to wait and look around. She had come. She wanted him. She had him.
He turned to trot over to her without hesitation. "Sohalia my dear. My heart nearly fails inside of me of happiness when you come to find me." He smiled and his wings fluttered.

Sohalia caught herself smiling, the expression slipping onto her face before she'd realised it when she saw Vohamanah. She wished she didn't have this second guessing when feeling an emotion towards the stallion; shouldn't she just be able to have them and not worry about it? The mare still worried that he was about to break her, discard her or just merely walk away.
'You should be careful of that. After all, if your heart did stop, then you wouldn't be about to see our children grow..' she looked directly at him, letting the words sink in, hoping he would realise exactly what she was getting at.

~Ah!~ It made so much sense to him. No wonder she would get all miffed with him sometimes over things he couldn't understand. No wonder she kept going off on her own.
Though when he saw the smile, he felt his heart melt into a million pieces. He always knew those smiles were in there; but his hope of getting them out of her was like hoping to find the rainbow after it rains. Everyone thinks it'll be there; but you don't always get to see it.
He strode up close to her cautiously. He put his nose down close to her belly. He rubbed it gently, trying to not let his horn catch her. He pressed his ear to the side of it. Curious...
Lifting his head to look at her, he looked at her with all the wonder and bleeding of his heart that he couldn't contain. "That is the best news I've heard in a long time. That must be why you've been so especially striking lately."
He chuckled to himself lightly; also musing to himself maybe she needed to pregnant more often in the future.

Sohalia's tail swished a touch when Vohamanah came in close and touched her rounder belly, but she didn't say anything. It was a testament to how much trust she had in him now that she didn't edge away, or go stiff.
'Really? I think it is why I have been looking pudgier lately is all.' she said, an eybrow raised. She was glad that he was pleased however, maybe his enthusement would rub off on her and she wouldn't feel so nervous about having to let her guard down when her children arrived.
She supposed a person might wonder how an innocent could be deceitful, but she knew that family betrayal was the worst. Well...she really couldn't worry about that now, after all she had the rest of the pregnancy and the actual birth to think about first of all.
'What do you think we will have?' she said instead, aware that she'd been silent for time.

Vohamanah looked at her lazily with eyes full of pride and dedication.
"Oh, well... one of each would be fine. Maybe... a daughter... Overall, I have to say I'm not too picky."
He flicked his ears and his tail about as he moved his head back down towards the level of her belly. He watched for a while to see if he could see them move from the outside. It was a them, right? Did horses ever have just one? He wasn't sure. He hadn't really been around it at all.
He thought about how it would mean so much to him to bring his grandfather around after the babies were born. Would she have it? He wanted to ask; but he discerned perhaps it wasn't the time for such things.
Instead, he just raised his head and gently nibbed at her cheek softly, moving some strands of hair out of her eyes. "I won't ever leave you Sohalia. I promise. "

Sohalia eyed Vohamanah, noticing that he was careful not to address her worries about how she looked. She supposed that it was inevitable; gaining weight was how it was meant to go, the foals needed their sustenance, and she needed to eat more so that they would be born a healthy size.
'I'm not sure there will be one of each..' she corrected, she wasn't exactly sure herself but she had a feeling.
'There is more than two in there, sometimes, well sometimes it almost feels like I am being gently kicked by three sets of tiny hooves. Which is an odd sensation in itself. I could be wrong..but that's what I feel.'
She looked directly at him, at his words, her eyes searching his. 'No,' she answered after a while. 'I don't believe you will leave me..but I will leave you. For a time. For the birth. I have to feel safe in my surroundings. And that isn't here yet. Vohamanah..' she said his name, deciding to be firm so that there were no misunderstandings. 'I trust you, please don't think this is a slight towards you. I just have to go somewhere completely hidden. I will send word when they are born..'

Vohamanah had been looking positively joyful. However... she wanted to go by herself??? He looked sideways trying to hide a frown. He was more than beyond understanding if she didnt' want to have them near his family. Given the way she had been since he met her. That would make sense. but.. not even him??? Why did she insist on this...
Still, in his heart, his love and feeling for her had been waxing strong and flourishing. He loved her more every time he looked at her. He blinked as tears rimmed his eyes. He shook his head and then tried to give her most kind and regal smile he could muster.
"Yes, my dear. I will do whatever you want."
What else could he do but yeild to her that which was her desire... All he ever wanted was for her to be happy. He then would stand watch and wait. Maybe he'd try to not even sleep. He wanted to be vigil. He wanted to be like the other males in his great heritage.
Stepping back, he looked at her with soulful eyes. "I love you... Sohalia. I couldn't say no to you even if I wanted to."

'I know you do Vohamanah, I appreciate all your feelings for me, especially your patience.' Sohalia could see that he was hurting, which did pain her, but this was something she had to do. It was like an instinctial thing, her whole being was shouting at her to hide away during the birth. She took her leave from him, her round belly swaying as she walked, heading for a place that only she knew of.
Sometime later, on sore and swollen legs, the unicorn mare pushed her way through thick ivy trails, and bushes with thorns. She winced as she was scratched a few times, but she persevered, finally breaking through and walking into the cave that she'd found some months back on the side of one of the larger hillsides.
The ground inside was soft, dry dirt that crumbled easily underfoot, and there was only the faintest of light that allowed her to see where she was going. She felt perfectly safe there, and lowered herself carefully down to await the time of birth, near the baskets that she managed to procure, and had hidden them away when they were made after she realised her condition. During the days that passed, she sang songs that her mother had taught her to her womb children, and left the cave only for the briefest periods to do the necessary things.
Several weeks passed in the same way, and Sohalia actually found herself becoming lonely. It had seemed she had become used to being around others, or another as her case was, and she had a longing to see Vohamanah. It was when she was feeling that she should give in and travel back to have their children near to the father that she started her labour. The pains progressed quickly, inducing her to start pushing, and hours after her water had broken, she was looking over three of the most precious things she'd ever know. Her children.
'Don't break my heart..' she whispered to them, as she managed to bundle each foal into a basket. It was a strange thing to say, but she knew that family ties could inflict more pain than anything.
Sohalia managed to move to the cave entrance after a while, and gave a low call. After a small amount of time, a distant short white blob turned into vixen, the familiar that the mare had yet to tell Vohamanah about. The creature was just as withdrawn as Sohalia had been, and she barely even spoke more than a few words to the unicorn. But their was kinship between them because of their pasts. Both had known betrayal, and had been left scarred by it.
'Will you tell him?' Sohalia asked, her brow still beaded with sweat from her exertions.
'You ask alot.' Shveni replied, and slipped away. Sohalia knew that meant she would carry the message but there would be a debt incurred which she would have to pay back later. She dragged herself back inside to be with the baskets again.
The vixen padded swiftly along, knowing her way only from the directions given to her by Sohalia. When she neared the camp, the smell of human and Soquili was heavy in the air, and she gave a short bark from the cover of a bush, trying to attract Vohamanah's attention if he were near.

Vohamanah heard the bark. His first thought wandered to some of his recent meetings with Kahaina. He remembered the legends he was told about skinwalkers. The vile creatures which came into the world to torment and ravage the serene and humble lives of good natured soquili. He narrowed his eyes. How could this happen...
He had been waiting all this time for her. Against the best of his optimism, he found himself fretting quite a lot. He kept pacing between the teepee and the river. Was she all right? Had something happened? What if something happened.. how would he know? Then sometimes, he would pause and feel a tinge mixed of both guilt and sadness for Sohalia. He knew she was such a private person. Would having all these little ones force her to be in types of situations she didn't like? Had he put it on her?
Of course, he had been reassuring himself by visiting his grandfather rather frequently. It was the only thing he could do. Only through constant moving did Vohamanah find some piece of mind.
He then took a few steps closer to the bush. He steeled his nerves. He tried to remember as much as he could about dealing with intruders. Noone would come to hurt his family. Though, he felt himself mildly surprised as he peered down. What was that? "Who goes there?"

Quick eyes peered out from the bush, spying the restlessly moving golden winged stallion. He fit the description that Sohalia had given the vixen, and so she slunk out from under the foliage, barking sharply again and then speaking.
'You Vohamanah?' she asked abruptly. He probably was, but Shveni was loathe to make two journeys to find this new father.

Vohamanah then stood back slightly less tense, but he peered down carefully.
"Yes. That's me. Who are you? How did you know my name?" Then, his optimism tried to revive itself. He was going to ask if this little thing had heard news of her. but... that'd be silly... He was just grasping at straws these days.
Still... was there some great being up in the sky.. someone who knew his great anxiety with his beloved so far away. He knew that his distress would wash away the moment he could smell her and know everything was ok. The way he hoped it would be.
