"I know that she would be happy to see my father again. Maybe seeing him once more would make her happy. I have been with her for so long comforting her. But now I want to help her." She shifts a little. "Even if it is only a dream, a dream is better then nothing at all."

"Happy for how long? Do you think you can talk him into staying? Can your mother handle another abandonment? Can you?" Kyu looked at her seriously and he tails stretched themselves one by one.

"I can't talk him into staying. But maybe I could talk him into coming by now and then." Mandy was looking away. "She is strong and doesn't show weakness that easy."

Kyu sighed and let her tails fall to ground and be still. "Well then, you the potential consequences and believe it is worth the risk, so I shall stop pestering you on such matters of intent." Kyu stuck her paw into the water in front of them and began to heat the water around it. A fish swam up to investigate the paw but the increase in temperature was too much for it. It floated to the top and Kyu snatched it out of the water. "Well, I guess my powers do come in handy when it comes to fishing." She smirked and looked at Mandy. "It seems you are the one who has taught me something today."

Mandy watches the elder then smiles softly. "It is not every day that someone younger then an elder can teach an elder something." She looked up at the sky and the clouds above. "I go back and see her every week. One of my sister is still with her."

Kyu smiled back at mandy. "Some elders would never admit to it, but I think this is our time of greatest learning. It's hard to accept that when everyone around you assumes you are some being filled with great knowledge. You know a lot Mandy, and I'm glad you didn't let an old fool like me change your perspective." Kyu riped a few strips of flesh from the fish and devoured them quickly. They were partially cooked from the heat she had caught the fish with. Just the way she liked it. "Your mother must cherish those visits. I know I would..."

"Only because most elders are older then most dragonflies. So being around more means you should have learned a little more about this world." Mandy smiled softly and looked at the elder. "I know my mother loves the visits, but I don't think she going to be staying still for much longer. As much hope as we both have in seeing him again this forest is big and he has wings." She shifted a little before moving to the water to get a drink.

"Perhaps you should set out together. I know I apriciate the company on my journey." She smiled thinking back on Hakim and all the other dragonflies she met.

"She is not one to ask for company on a journey. She likes to be on her own and take care of herself." Mandy lets a few drinks of water drop from her mouth as she looks at the elder and smiles a little. "I think I take after her in wanting to be on my own and take care of myself." She took another drink and thought. "Plus she seems to be waiting to meet him one more time before she starts to move about."

"It seems you get that from your father as well. Solitude and independence seems to run in your blood." Kyu chuckled and her tails danced in the wind as if they knew she was amused. "Look me and old fool who cant seem to give the slightest bit of advice to a young independent mind. I think my little Hakim could learn more from you than me but he would never leave."

Mandy sat back and smiled. "You shouldn't say that. You have given advice to me that I will take. And I'm not that good of a teacher." She laughs and looks up at the sky thinking. "I think I will return and see my mom after this. I'm sure she would like that." Nodding to herself she looks at the elder again and her tails. "Will you ever get more tail?" She was not sure why she asked that but she wanted to know.

Kyu seemed truly surprised by the question and looked back at her nine tails waving in the wind as she pondered her answer. She had gained tails between her childhood and adult years but none since. "Hmmm..that is a great question Mandy. I have always wondered why I had gained so many tails throughout my growing years or why I had not gained any when I reached the elder stage. I think that my tails will remain in nine..though I do not know why."

Mandy nodded. "Just like my wings then. They have gotten bigger as I have grown but will not get any bigger then they are now. Meaning that I'm stick with them unchanging at any time." She didn't care that her wings didn't get bigger. They reminded her of her father and the time he had picked her up and went flying. "I just find it interesting that your tails have grown to great number. I only have one tail." She flicks it and laughs. "But that is alright with me."

Kyu plucked a flower with one of her tails and smelled the sweet scent briefly. She smiled and then turned to Mandy. "It's amazing the variety in our species! We are all so different and yet so much alike. Though I will tell you it is rather embarrassing when an elder falls flat on her muzzle after she has tripped on one of her tails." She chuckled and smirked. "I may look like I have them under control but I swear they have a mind of their own."

Mandy really couldn't help but laugh. "Yes I would think that would be a sight to see. An elder walking along then tripping." She laughed again then smiled. "I guess there is a down fall to everything in this world. I have the false hope of one day flying, you have the ever lasting fear of tripping."
