Did she just wink? Was that a 'take me to a theater' wink? Because he could totally do that, dammit!

As Dom headed toward the table, Spins was quick enough to trot behind like an affectionate puppy, or a hunting wolf, dependent on how one felt like interpreting his expression. Maybe an affectionate wolf? A hunting puppy? Nevermind.

Falling casually into his seat, he immediately began to fiddle with his menu, and tap his index finger against the yet empty glass in front of him.

"I'm a big fan of the close your eyes and point at the menu method." He illustrated, flipping the menu open and pointing at random. "I'm having... the red curry."

Despite his rather casual announcement of dining choice, he did look down at the menu. "If your not into spicy food, the Pad Thai's good, and sorta familiar. It has noodles, anyway."

Italian, right? Italian's loved noodles!

"Curry's spicy, good though. Tears of pain but you keep eating sort of thing."

He let his menu fall closed, and looked up at Dom. "And if you don't like the food, well, you can have me shot." A smile, "Seems fair."

She'd like to think that she'd left the wink up to interpretation- he could take it as he would, but at the very least, she hope he got the message that she was enjoying herself with him.

She only caught a glimpse of his canine-esque expression as she turned to sit down, and there was a moment, where she was inclined to wonder if he shared that same expression behind a bedroom door- but that was perhaps still too bold; and so waved it off the moment it had surfaced in her mind. A thought for another time, perhaps.

She watched him fiddle, her own posture relaxed, one of her hands resting over the arm of her chair as the other lay upon the table. She looked away briefly as a waitress shuffled through the kitchen doors, but then quickly returned her gaze to him, listening as he made food suggestions.

"Ah... I'm reluctant about anything spicy," she smiled wryly, "for good reasons..."

She figured that was pretty self-explanatory- she hadn't had anything particularly spicy in quite some time, and the very last thing she needed at the end of the night was-- well, anyway, time to end that thought.

She decided to have a glance at her menu, so that she might be able to find something with beef- nothing was better than a good slab of red meat; but she was also considering what he'd recommended...

"Beef khao pad Thai seems like it'd be good," she murmured, before folding her menu back up with a smile, "Guess I'll go with that,"

She laughed at him, and leaned forward against the table, her elbows resting at the edge as her hands folded together.

"Oh? Well then," she snickered gently, "I suppose there's quite a bit of weight resting upon your food choice, then!"

Heh. Spins certainly didn't seem very perturbed at the idea of imminent death by poor restaurant choice. No, he just grinned and allowed himself a shrug.

"The way I see it if you don't fear death... then it's only a motivator. You know what I mean? So... I'm motivated to see that your meal is great, and if it isn't, well, you can bet I'll really enjoy my curry if it's the last I'll ever eat."

Just as he finished announcing that rather unusual bit of philosphy, the waitress arrived at their table, asking after drinks and foods of choice. He ordered what was in fact a Japanese beer, asked for red curry, and then smiled at the waitress.

"Oh, and if you could? Tell the chef that I hope he's at his best. My future just may depend on the lady's meal."

And the waitress, assuming that Spins was lovestruck and nervous, nodded reassuringly, and turned to Dominique expectantly.

She listened to the little tidbit of philosophy he presented her with interest, her left eyebrow raising in a gentle arc as she smiled.

"Too many people get caught up in a fear of death," she murmured, "The fear of it becomes their driving force in life, and they forget to live because of the possession of their fears,"

She smirked though, glancing at the waitress as she began to move over towards their table.

"You'd better hope it's really excellent curry. It'd be a shame if terrible curry was your very last meal,"

She snickered despite herself at Spins's words to the waitress, and had to look away, shaking her head with a grin that she hid behind one of her hands, before composing herself and lifting her head to look at the waitress.

She ordered her meal, and just a coffee to drink; they probably wouldn't carry a wine quite suited to her tastes (as she was a very picky sort of woman when it came to such things) and it was a bit too early for a stiff bourbon.

Not that they probably carried that, either.

"The way I see it, death is an inevitability, but if you let it be your driving force in life, it's going to keep you from doing a damned lot of things. Me? Me and death are good buddies," she smirked, her eyes flashing, "But I suppose that isn't a discussion for a place like this,"

She glanced away with a bit of a shrug, taking her coffee mug as the waitress brought over there drinks.
