Ok, guys, I'm pissed right now too, but I don't know. I'm STILL not trusting any of this.
For one, this comic was made and released by someone who is NOT bryke.
If this was THE TRUE ENDING of Avatar, and it got released this early, don't you think Bryke would be sueing some a**?
This is an adaptation, an alteration, an adjustment.
It was originally scheduled to be released AFTER the end of AVatar. After the end of Avatar, I mean, what would it matter what a comic had in it? IT already happened in the show, right? There's no arguing that.
I read the first two lines of that Bryke Interview, and I was thouroughly disgusted. That did not sound like Bryke, at all. I mean, REally they spent all this time encouraging us and acknowledging us and whatever....Playing the NICE GUYS...only to swoop in right after this bombshell and taunt us with 'It never would have lasted!" It's just dark and intriguing!!
My god, no, They're tricksters, they aren't Sadists. AT least, I am hoping to the GODS not.
They even SAID that convo was paraphrased. who's to say they aren't twisting some things? How the heck do we know??
This ending...IT was so unepic. Ozai living? What?? I mean, maybe Aang won't kill him in cold blood...but seriously! Where's the Avatar State? Where is every scrap of Zutara development? Where the HELL is the GURU and AANG NEEDING TO LET GO?! Zuko rescuing Mai from prison? With what Freakin' time in the show??? No mention of Ursa? Not even as an afterthought in ZUKO's corner of the book?? This is crap, I'm not believing a word of it.
WHERE is the EPIC QUALITY??!
I don't know what the heck is going on here, but this can't be the real ending...If that is the REAL ******** interview...It just can't. If it is, my respect for Bryke will go straight out the freakin' window. And that is a lot of respect. I'm trusting these guys with my FREAKING FANDOM HEART.
I'm waiting for the show itself to get really scared. This comic...Augh. this doesn't make SENSE.
I've never been so insulted in a fandom before, but if this ends up happening, I'll be all the more insulted. Because this is probably one of the worst ways to end the show. EVER.
The whole, 'it's for kids' thing only goes so far. Really, if they have this kids show, and they talk liberally about love, death, murder, treason, tyranny, betrayal and all these deep themes...It wouldn't be THAT dumbed down.
There are so many plot holes and emptied devices in this I can't take it for real. It just does not sit well with me, and not even because of the Kataang ending.
I may get the book and read all of this for myself, but at the same time...I don't want to waste my good SDCC money on such crap.
I mean, I was totally depressed earlier, too, but I had a convo with Kat and Animeangel on MSN, and we're pretty sure that this is bogus.
But I'm still so angry right now, this is going to give so much to the kataangers, and I am just so sick of them and their ship running things. They're rude as it is, like they need this crap to add on to it. Kataang itself is just.. augh. Im beginning to really HATE it. I'm sick of it, I really am. Not just the shippers, the SHIP.
AND I HATE how Green and TRISHNA have lost hope because of this crap. I HATE HOW SIMATRA has lost hope. I HATE how AVidzktjo lost hope ALMOST LONG ENOUGH to DELETE HER CHANNEL AND VIDS ON YOUTUBE. I HATE HOW THIS THING HAS HAD ME ON A ******** ROLLER COASTER OF HOPE AND DEPRESSION FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS WHEN I HAVE s**t TO DO FOR ART HISTORY.
THIS COMIC....has INSANELY ******** with the fandom. I wish it had NEVER BEEN WRITTEN. I may BUY it just to
BURN it.
But anyway, I can't rant anymore, because I need to work on homework, but here's my most recent Journal entry on DA. It's from yesterday, but I still think it mostly applies. Please, guys, don't lose hope. Beleive the SHOW and not this comic DRIBBLE.
