"I couldn't ask you to do that...." she said, embarrassed. "We've gone from me paying, to you paying your part, to you paying for everything. Again, that's not why I invited you to stay with me. It's not your responsibility to pay my way...." She would never ask it of Kael, but secretly, she couldn't help but think of how nice that would be. She could be a stay at home mom for a little while at least. Keeta was flustered enough by his offer, that she didn't notice his failure to answer the guardians question.

Internally, Keeta struggled with this proposition, and had Kael been able to see her face, it would have been evident there as well. It seemed like a fair offer, and he was clearly trying to help her out, but she couldn't help but playing the what if game....what if you're not here in a year, what if we can't stand each other in a year, what if, what if.... She couldn't stand the thought of not being fair and paying her share. A month right now seemed so long. A year seemed like it was forever away. But....it would really help her out right now. And maybe it would make his stick around longer?

"I guess...I mean, it seems fair." There was clearly hesitation in her voice, but excitement too. "Just know that if anything happens, I will still honor my part of the deal, no matter where we are in a year from now. Agreed?"

Keeta takes the offered hand and shakes it, a smile creeping at the edge of her lips. "I'll try to relax and not to worry, Kael, but I can't promise anything. It's so hard for me to just sit back and let other people take charge sometimes. I... really appreciate what you're doing though. It will be a great help to me. It'll mean I can stay home with the baby a great deal more than I was anticipating."

"Shower? I think I can help you out there." Awkwardly, Keeta forced herself up from the couch, with a grunt. Standing up was definitely getting much more difficult these days.

"Follow me." She led the way down the hall to the apartment's single bathroom and opened the door, allowing him a 'view' of the inside. There was a toilet, a single sink, with cabinets underneath and above, and a shower/tub combo.

"Here it is. Not fancy or anything, but it works just fine. Shampoo's already in the shower, and there are clean towels under the sink. Do you need help finding anything else? If not, I'll just leave you to getting settled in, and maybe take a nap."

Keeta couldn't help but stare for a minute, noticing all the tattoos and...everything else. When she realized what she was doing, however, she quickly tore her vision away and stepped out of the room, closing the door behind her. Breathing hard from confusion and embarassment, Keeta leaned against the wall and slid down until she was sitting on the floor. She could hear the water running, and him moving around the shower, through the thin wall.

"What just happened?" she asked herself, bewildered. He had indicated that she thought she was interested too quickly, but then he pulls a stunt like this. He couldn't possibly have done that on accident could he?
