Stat items probably won't exist. I don't think it's worth it to have actual stats for characters, especially since it won't be focused on combat.

True. Plus, it wouldn't really work for this sort of RP in general. ^_^;; That said, I say keep stats on the consoles where they belong.

As far as events/holiday kinda things, one idea I had would concern a festival of sorts.

I'm thinking each race would have its own unique holiday-esque things.
Like, Dwarves might have a festival for the Great Prospecting Fesitival that's about good mining, etc. where they drink themselves silly for a few days. Elves might have a ritual done once a year to bless the forests of the world, Angels would celebrate the First Dawn where light shone for the 1st time, etc.
Then there'd be universal things like a Harvest Festival. Stuff that's based on the seasons, etc.
Probably something comical too, like the annual Cake Off Frenzy where the best chefs around try to cook the best cake, and a big food fight happens.

How do you feel about steam-punk like elements being incorporated into the characters and plot? Or would that be too disruptive to the setting?

I figured the technology, especially Goblin stuff since they're the big tech whiz race here, would be steampunkish, only maybe add a bit of magical properties to it, given the kinda RP it is.
