A bit about you: I decided to have my cake first and go to college. I don't regret that decision, but the loans are really frightening me. I'm trying to examine my options and make sure that I'm joining for all the right reasons- y'know, not just as a reaction and all that. Also there's a slim possibility that I'll get a job overseas and won't join for another year, but at present the military is looking like my best option. More on all of this in another post, of course.

A bit about you: Truth be told my decision to join was made back during my Junior year of high school, I decided what I wanted to do and figured, why not do it the military way first? Well, ok, and I've always really wanted to serve our country.
Funny story; I have four uncles; one is a Marine for life, the other was Navy, another was USAF; the last one tried to go Army but didn't make it. Other than that, both of my grandfathers fought in WWII; my grandfather on my father's side was there for Iwo Jima (though he was a Coastie) and we've got two rifles that he got to bring back as well as the written permission from his commanding officer to do so. All three of my best friends are also military, all three of them are also Army.

How long have you been in: I was on active duty for 6 years, then 3 years reserves
A bit about you: I was a nuclear power tech on subs for 6 years active duty. I got out after 6 and joined the reserves. I was injured in an accident on base and medically discharged. I'm now a life member of Submarine Veterans inc, Jewish War veterans, and Disabled American Veterans.
