Next week. Monday. Stop asking.
Vintrict's already answered that question about a million times already.

Supposed to start June 1st-ish, and you can approximate the ending by saying that it will take roughly ten days per round, then 7-10 days per judging round.
That's something like:
64 participants - 10 days 1st round judging - 7-10 days
32 participants - 10 days 2nd round judging - 7 days
16 participants - 10 days 3rd round judging - 7 days
8 participants - 10 days 4th round judging - 7(?) days
4 participants - 10 days 5th round judging - 7(?) days
2 participants - 10 days 6th round judging - completion - 1-7 days.
102 days, at minimum if every round of judging takes seven days and every fight round is 10 days. So 3 to 3 1/2 months.
My suggestion would be that the fight rounds be cut down to 7 days. Seven days is enough time for a single 1x1 match to occur in a thread. This also cuts the time down to around 84 days, which is a little closer to the bottom end of 3 months, more or less.

Vintrict was here. Deitric needs to stop being a smartass.
Rest assured, I was thinking of just doing 7 days, anyway, mainly cause we got like loads of matches to judge. I would have thrown in a post limit, too, though I'm skeptical that'll just limit the fighters' fights a little more.

I wasn't being a smart-a**, I was literally counting out the days so I could figure out how long the tournament would last.
Seven day rounds and seven day judging periods (first round notwithstanding because there'd be so much to judge), things would go by quite a bit quicker.

Though, for judging, I could see the first round taking ten-twelve days just because of the sheer size.
Also, should have an Absence thread so people can mark when/if they'll be missing.

Just Naota Next week. Monday. Stop asking. Vintrict's already answered that question about a million times already. I suggest an announcement thread so people wouldn't have to keep asking the same question over and over.

You could make a Character Select styled thread that serves the same function as it does for showcasing teams in HoH. That would help to immortalize all the competitors of GTB4 and distinguish them from the spectators.

I like KB's idea a lot, but it has one fault. It's a tad bit difficult to do that for 64 different characters. Not to say it can't be done, it can, and with the right effort it could be grand.
An alternative would be to halve the amount of characters being immortalized by making it all the round 2+ participants, the winners of round 1 who have thus shown their stuff, so to speak. Plus it would give people time to set everything up, since round one is on the verge of starting as it is.
Either way, I'd love to see that happen, it definitely seems worthwhile to me.

Might as well do it for round 1.
There was a thread like that last year, so I don't see why there wouldn't be one this year.

It should be done before first round, but since it wasn't and there likely isn't time for it, it could be done before next round.

back in the old days of four color comics, you would sometimes see a bunch of super heroes and villains team up to fight some uber boss battle.
I was thinking perhaps when there's 4 people left or four people who didn't make it to semifinals, some boss battle could take place.

I support that idea so long as I don't actually have to do any of the work that goes along with it.
