As swift as serpents, Shisei sent both his hands at the body of his opponent. He was quick like the strike of cobra. Every contact he made to the shadow was a combo of two. Now hand of the fierce boy attacked alone. The thunderous hand of the foe quickly swung to knock the dread headed child’s head off, but was still too slow. Shisei easily twirled his body underneath. Foot over foot, twisting upon the heels. The ivory boy made an entire 360 degree turn to dodge. Upon his revolution he brought his elbow up to the face of the Dai illusion. The mirage backed away slowly. Just like the old Dai, it would take a lot more to bring him down. To thing the whole event was caused over Shiu. The within his gold eyes he remembered that time with the smaller girl. It was as clear as a summer day to him.
“Why didn’t you help me!” the smaller girl had sniffled out. At that time Shisei was walking home after the event had occurred. Shiu was sitting in a seat that Dai had seized as his. The girl refused to move so the gorilla boy had slapped her off. Shisei had watched the event, but never interjected.
“Why should I? Your business has nothing to do with mine.”. That was how the serpent youth had replied in the past. They had went home and his sister had told their mother and father. In the end Shisei was given a talk by the family. It was a short talk, but what mostly stuck out to him was the ending of the conversation with his mother. “Why should I protect her?” he asked curiously.
His mother just gave him a small smile. “Simple. It’s to be expected of a big brother to protect his younger sister.”. That night the serpent boy had pondered his role. He didn’t really get. “To this day I still don’t get it…” Shisei contemplated as the grisly shadow approached him again.

Straight punch, left and right. The silhouette continued its brawl with toggling between its fist. And the same time Shisei kept moving the opposite directions. His arms did not try to block any of the hits. Not only because it was an illusion of the boy’s mind, but also because it was not Shisei to block. To block was to get hit and he would try his most to not get hit again. Not after today. As he dodged each blow, the boy remembered what occurred the next day. “Heh if only I was better back then.” his mind thought As his body lurched forward and two swift dagger like nails pierced into the stomach of the shadow. This still would not bring it down and the bigger beast raised its knee in retaliation. The serpent youth managed to roll out of the way returning to both his feet as his mind began to remember the events of the past.
Throughout that night Shisei had pondered what his mother told him. It was to be expected of the older sibling. The next day came, with Shiu taking back her spot on Dai’s chair. The same events almost occurred again, but the ivory girl’s brother did step in this time. The two had gotten into a little scuffle from there. Almost like the same unreal battle that was occurring in Shisei’s mind.

Back then Shisei was the first to land a blow. He was also the first to fall. Similar to the events of today. If it wasn’t for the past, his rage may have exceeded the limits of his patience. Luckily it was because of the past episode in his life he managed to keep his cool. When he had swung at the kid and hit him square in the jaw, Shisei believed that would have been the ending of it. His mind didn’t think that the kid would turn right back and slug him in the eye. The blow had knocked the boy down for a minute, which is why many of the other children believed Dai had done it again. Once the snake youth had return to a vertical position and gazed at his face in a window he became electrified with anger. Underneath the black ring of his eye was a darkening blue ring. No one was able to do that to him before. Shisei had rushed at the kid with all fury in his fists and the two continued before adults could break them up.
Returning to the false reality before him Shisei bent the upper half of his body backwards. Just in time as a foot with a sandal was trusted directly at his chest. His feet still moved with the grace of a butterfly edging him away from the devious outline of black. His arms regained their positions and struck like two vipers. Four times Shisei would hit the mirage like foe. Twice in the leg, once in the face and another in the stomach. If it were a real form his nails would have sliced through flesh.

“achoo…” The dread headed boy sneezed. He rubbed his nose. A cold did not find its way into his system anytime today. Must have been something in the air. As he contemplated this the shadow of his memory tried for a bear hug and headbut at the same time. Shisei crouched slow and slid between the bigger boy’s legs. He made it back to his feet and almost took a back fist to the chin. The mind was still analyzing at an incredible rate so his serpent body arched backwards till it went into a flip. The youth got just enough altitude that only his purple dreads grazed the floor. His knees touched the floor first, the shadow continued to rush him. It appeared that it may actually hit him this time.
That is when Shisei changed his flattened knife like palm and curled his fingers. It became as if he was holding some type of cup. This palm caught the imaginary fist of his opponent. In the boy’s mind he could here the slap of a larger fist being engulfed by his palm. With the sudden stop in motion, Shisei’s other deadly hand struck into the soft flesh where the arm bent. His legs then quickly dashed him away before any retaliation could have been met.
Gold eyes quickly checked to make sure the shed was still closed. He knew just how crazy it would look if someone came in now. He would like some child playing with an imaginary friend. Although depending how one would look at it that wasn’t to far from the truth…..

Shadow Dai began to rush against Shisei again. Arms dark like night flailing around trying to crush the snow colored youth. Or at least that was what he wanted to believe. Regardless the towering dark made another grapple. The scaly child was able to flip sideways. In mid flip though when his body was at the highest peak, Shisei fell back to the ground. His neck hit first and then the rest of his body came tumbling after. He closed his eyes for a second and re opened them to see the shaded foot step down upon his head.
It wasn’t real so there was no physical pain. Still it felt as if a piece of Shisei’s pride was stepped on. He growled in frustration as his body began to raise itself on its knees. “I have to keep going. I must surpass them all. Or else…” and that’s when the amber orbs created another form behind the initial antagonist. It was another shadow. One smaller than the young Orochi. It had a small grin upon its mouth. The eyes opened wide with a mischievous color of green and red. “Else…!” the boy’s mind began to work over time. The smaller shade disappeared and all that was left was the reckless run of the memory of Dai.

Before Shisei could return to his feet the silhouette had already attacked. Its palms had taken a hold of violet hair and the left knee of the foe made its way to sharpest point of the stolid child’s face. All of the attacks had dissipated like a ghostly fog, but the snake student kept the façade as if they hurt. His body leaped back, but his mind made the fabricated rival continue the assault. The leg with bandages was grabbed by Dai. Shisei’s body had instantly stopped in the leap. His arms retracted behind his back to brace the fall. His other leg thrust forward trying to vanquish the form of darkness, but that was also caught by the foe.
Shisei could not help but wonder that if the actually battle had ended up with him on the floor if he would be able to escape. His mind then surged with determination. If it ever did came to that point he’d find a way out.

Both feet caught, Shisei could only escape the way he knew. The same way he would evade and parry every attack. His left arm swung from below him across his body to the other side. This put both arms on Shisei’s right side and made his body twist. The boy created more of a twirl by adjusting his body. The shadow could not keep hold of squirmy boy. Instead it raised pushing the child away and sending him a few feet off the ground. The shade of the bully continued its approach before the kid snake could even touch the ground.
Quickness would be on Shisei’s side. His arms were first to hit the ground. They extended to their max length and propelled the child back to a vertical base. Just in time to be face to face with one of the fiends of his mind. Dai swung again and Shisei pivoted his heels making him rotate once again from danger. During mid rotation, a white hand had balled together and the bone in the boy’s thumb came into the spectral temple of his antagonist. His legs then pushed him away from danger keeping two meters distance between.
It was the first punch Shisei had used for the whole night. His way wasn’t to use his fist, but it still came in handy to know how to throw a punch. "I only know because of that outsider…” the serpent youth reflected as to how he learned.
It was the day after that fight between him and Dai. Both kids were worst for the weary after it. Dai left with a busted lip, but he was a glutton for punishment. The fat boy could brush it off. The scrawnier young one left with a small limp and what most everyone saw the bluish purple ring under his eye. Shiu was happy that her big bro came to the rescue, but the viper like child only wanted to mutilate his foe. Coincidently the boy’s family had already plan a trip away for about a week. It was then that the outsider had taught him about a punch.
“Ok little man, come here. You gotta learn how to punch if you’re going to get in scraps. Now listen up closely.” Shisei didn’t like him, but he was taught to obey elders so he gave some attention to this person. “Now you’re too scrawny to just be going in head on like I heard ya did. Ya got no muscle to ya. So throwing out haymakers and hooks ain’t for ya. What most knuckleheads do is they tense their arm so much with power and energy that it becomes stilted and uncontrolled. An arm all tensed may have power, but it has no focus and wastes a bunch of energy. It may work for some big guys, but for a little gaunt like you that ain’t gone work.”
“Your point?” Shisei questioned with annoyance in his voice. The last person he wanted to be lectured from was this outsider. “My point is you got to learn how to do it differently. You got me? Now think about this. What’s the shortest way to anywhere you want to go?”
“Don’t treat me like an invalid. It’s a straight line.”
“Right. You’re bright little gaunt aren’t you. Well always think of it as that way when you throw a punch at someone. See you’re advantage is speed. So always focus on that. An arrow can only kill when it has speed? Right? So the faster you can throw you’re punches, especially in succession the faster, you’ll take down almost anyone. Now curl your fingers, but not too tight. Pretend you have a soft egg in your palm and you don’t want crush it. There ya go. Keep those knuckles out and put your thumb down so the bone in the joint is sticking up. That can also be used as a weapon. When I’ve used it I usually twist my wrist and crack across some fools temple. If you hit someone there hard enough that’s pretty much a KO. See. Don’t your old man got some good advice?”
“Tch. Whatever.”
Shisei’s memory stopped there. It was one of the few times he had chosen to spend with the outsider. Mostly because the elder man was looking for him. It was one of the few things that the serpent boy had committed to memory. The brain began to wonder if there was anything else that the outsider had taught him. The boy quickly snapped back to his artificial opponent. The fight would come first.

The existing youth and illusory foe clashed again. Shisei’s fingers straightened striking twice into the face and then curled into claws. This new palm form is quickly used to smash into both knees of the opponent. A pale knee just lower than shorts bursts upwards to hit the fake Dai’s chin. His body dropped back to the floor evading two more punches and another leg thrust. Shisei returned with his own small kick to the thigh of his silhouette adversary. The outsider may have thought him how to punch, but it was his mother that really taught him how to fight. Kiketsu remembered back to that time.
It was on that same family trip that his mother had taught him. She had stated that there were other possibilities for him to learn besides just a punch. It was a long lesson that day, but the snake child’s mother gave him some knowledge of her use of physical techniques. Those consisted of the animal stances, mostly those from snake and dragon with a few high and low kicks. There were some blocks, but the feet were mostly used to evade by a spinning method. This allowed the enemy attacks to roll off while enabling the user to go into a mode of counter attack. Of course Shisei could not comprehend all of this in one session. Impossible for a child so young. Still his progression was quicker than anyone would have expected. The effects of that one session would not be known until their return home.
Kiketsu continued his attack, twisting his waist and allowing his arms to whip out against the shadowed foe. Two more strikes and he manages to pivot away from a shadow colored fist. His head ducking from fingers and gold eyes continuously analyzing the situation.

It was when the family had gotten back home and another day of the school began. When the small snake’s sister had boldly once again taken the seat of the brutish Dai. Again there was a dispute and again Shisei and Dai fought. It was not as balanced a fight as last time. The match was one sided, but in the favor of Shisei. The kids were all surprised at the difference in that time. The snake child had used one of those knife like strikes and accidentally stabbed into the throat of Dai during the conflict. Dai did not die, but needed some medical attention. Even if it was by mistake, because of youth’s rebellious attitude he refused to apologize. The kids of the area were all a little hesitant around the Orochi children, but now their attitudes had changed. There wasn’t a dramatic change for Shiu, but towards Shisei they tried to appease out of fear or wanted to be his associated with him because no one would mess with them. Not much different from the faint memories he had in his home village.
“Some things never change.” his brain thought as the illusionary enemy came attacking again. A knee came in which the violet haired boy angled his upper torso away from the blow. At the same time he brought up his own knee that connected with the side of the boy’s thigh. As the knee came back down putting the shadow of Dai back on a sturdy base, it put both arms over his head, cupping his hands and driving them to the crush the small boy. Shisei easily side stepped the blow and placed one foot on the imaginary wrists of the foe. He then mashed the heel into the floor and spun his body extending his leg to its maximum length. The blow went right across the face of the Dai in which the shadow began to diminish. Shisei’s memory then took back to the conversation his family had when he really did almost terminate Dai.
Shiu wasn’t angry at her older brother. She was proud and a little uneasy around him, but none the less happy. His mother and the outsider though were not happy at all. His mother was a little more passive about the situation the, but the foreigner was very upset. The conversation went all for a while, but it ended with Shisei saying something along the lines of “I will not apologize. I don’t care what I did and I don’t care about you.”. It was one of the more heated conversations, but not the worse. The most volatile one had happened before that incident.
Returning back from his history to the disappearing shade, the boy was surprised to see the black smog taking a new form. A taller shadow with only an outline like Dai. No mouth could be seen. Only eyes. It was from there that Shisei felt troubled the most. It was not Dai or even that devilish Tanu. No this set of red eyes were different. It was from that man from long ago.

Shisei’s gold eyes flashed for a second and his brows arched lower. Those crimson eyes were unforgettable to him. There was no hesitation against the shade. The boy darted towards it starting by twirling his body for a spinning kick. The shade easily backed away. The spin had taken the boy off his stance and almost tumbling to the floor. He had caught his balance though and continued the assault. Both hands whipped forth like rattlesnakes striking. His fingers extended and together. He wanted to pierce those eyes so badly. To rip them out. The image though easily swerved out of the way of the assaults. It just adjusted its neck every time Shisei would come close to connecting with the face. It moved flawlessly. No effort exerted, no more force than needed.
The scaled boy was beginning to wonder if his mind had created this enemy or if it came from some pit of darkness. Every tried strike and kick seemed useless. There was nothing the young boy could do against it. When Shisei stopped for a breath the fiend also stopped moving. Crimson orbs just glared at the youth who in turn fiercely gazed back with his gold pupils. That was his true opponent. With one quick movement he made another strike towards his foe. This time the shadow did not move and dissipated upon contact. Shisei stared at his palm for a few seconds and former place of his minds enemy. “That is the limit I have to surpass… but there is a wall I have to cross in Shima first.” The boy thought to himself.

His lungs huffed and puffed as the boy slowly regained back his breath. He was not tired enough to sleep just as yet and wanted to continue in something different. All that transpired today was motivation to keep going, even in the dark of night. Serpentine eyes glimmered around the shed to see if there was anything else that could be used inside. There was only the mat and the candles that Shisei had lit. His head shifted upwards to see a pole extending out of one end. That gave the child an idea. He stretched his arms out trying to reach for the pole, but his finger tips did not come even close. The youth grunted out of aggravation.

Not one to be deterred Shisei began to try and jump for the pole. He could grapple on to it, then a type of pull up training could commence. The bigger question is when it would begin. The young snake’s small stature was not helping in any way. His eyes kept looking up at the protruding rod. One foot pressed against the wall. Shisei would try to step off and upward to reach his destination. With one step up his body went a few inches off the ground. It still wasn’t enough to get his body in touch with the rod. Instead Shisei his knee banged into the wall and stopped all flight motion. His landing was at least on both his feet.

Shisei grumbled to himself again as he returned to his feet. How could he continue training if the tool to aid him was out of reach? It was becoming ridiculous now. The failures only made his mind want to get started. His form backed away a few steps. Eyes gauge the distance of his body from the pole. A few more steps back and Shisei felt in the right position. He’d make a running leap this time. It would be sure to work. His body darted quickly and took a leap. Again his fingertips could not even feel the air around the pole. All that was accomplished was a boy smashing into a wall and bouncing off with equal force. He fell back on to his elbows. The boy rubbed his forehead and nose. He then remembered the gargantuan height of fellow classmate Shinobu and then made a comparison to his own stature. “Why couldn’t I have been born taller?” his mind questioned as his legs pushed up to return to an upright position.

Since physical might was not going to get him up there, Shisei began to try and use his head. He looked around the room, but there were only the candles and mat. His mind then began to wonder if there may have been any tools around the shed. The boy’s frame loomed outside, checking the surroundings for any type of sturdy surface. Shisei came across three boxes. They were light and he carried them inside. Topping on top of the other, the boy gave a small grin to himself. Sometimes brains were better than brawn. He placed on foot on top the box, putting all his weight onto the one leg and then lifted the rest of his body on the boxes. He was finally tall enough to take hold of the pole. Some slight stretching was needed, but fingers could definitely reach. When his palm was only inches away from the pole the top box he was standing on broke making the boy fall a few inches through. The shock of a quick decline in height surprised the snake child and his frame lost balance on top. His body fell over into the boxes. Sometimes brains didn’t always work out well.

Taking the hint that the shed or rod did not want to cooperate anymore with training Shisei decided to leave the unruly pipe alone for tonight. He blew out each of the candles and closed the smaller room for the night. He wasn’t tired enough to sleep as yet. He still felt he had to push his body more. So his eyes glimmered around the area as the wind whipped through his hair. The air had gotten colder. Probably because it was dead of night. Finally the serpent child spotted something that could be of help. It was a low branch from a tree and had would probably serve the same way as the rod would have. He gripped the hard bark with his nails and began to pull himself up. His arms were slightly tired form his false opponent. Still they were working and only needed a breather. The small wait he took before was enough to get him going again. The small arms raised the boy until his chin ascended higher than the branch.
