A dark-shaded violet hair teen stepped out of a black car, carrying two duffel bags in each hand as his cold amber eyes stared across the bridge to look at the academy. "Now m'lord..." the butler began to say but the teen shut the door before he could say anymore. He picked up his feet and began striding across the bridge. He couldn't believe his parents had made come to this place without informing him. What childish behavior, he thought. He came to the building and slid through the door where he saw a notice for students to arrive at the dining hall. His dull eyes scanned the map in his head as he turned and walked towards the dining hall direction. He entered through the extravagant(sp?) doors and saw that others were there already. Did he come late? He didn't care really. He stride over to an empty seat where no one would seem to bother him. Quickly he sat down, placing his bags aside while hoping no one would pay attention to him. If anyone did, the black elegant coat that he wore had a lettering symbol on his right arm, which would give them a sign that he was from the Astler family, one of the top nobles around the world. Lukas Astler was his name.

"Lady Aurora!" the maid cried out from the carriage door as a girl of 16 years had just jumped out of the carriage to go after her pet. "Come back here you!" the girl yelled after the eight-legged creature. She finally caught up to it and picked up the spider into her arms. The black spider was about the size of a hen and it's legs were extended to about a quater length of the girl's arm. "How dare you jumped out of the window, Webster," she scolded at her pet as the maid had caught up to her, carrying her luggage in both hands. "Lady Aurora, don't ever do that! If your mother saw that, she would scold both of us," the maid panted as she set down the luggage. "Ah don't worry about that, she's not here..." Aurora said with a huge grin. She quickly grabbed her luggage's handle and began walking away. "See you later Anita!" she yelled back to her maid as she headed over the bridge and towards the academy. She held the spider in one arm as she opened the main door with the other, revealing the interior of the academy. "Wow, it looks like our home!" Aurora exclaimed to Webster as she looked around. Her aqua-marine colored eyes landed on the notice to go to the dining room. She gave a slight shrug and walked towards the wanted area with her luggage being dragged behind her. She took a peek inside before stepping into the dining room to see others were there already. "Woah, were we last?" Aurora muttered as she scanned around for seat. "Ooh, look at the authorities. They look so freakishly awesome!" she commented as she saw the teachers at their own table. She stride over to an seat that wasn't occupied and settled into it. She was a bit timid about talking to others. So she kept quiet and watched everyone from a distance. She was always known as the weird one.

Machi had found an empty seat to occupy, all the other students were gathering here, and as Fuego had explained, it was because this was what was known as ‘orientation’. The word itself was foreign to the young man but at the same time he understood it’s purpose some what. Everything had to start somewhere. As the young prince waited, he sat in his seat uncomfortable trying to seem proper (back straight, eyes attentive and forward, hands folded neatly upon the smooth surface of the table just as Fuego insisted) and like he belonged. But then again…

As the students filtered in, settled down and chatted amongst each other, Machi couldn’t help as his gaze strayed. The others, it was different as they were all walking to the large building, but now that they were in one place where Machi could observe them, many seemed to be in a very sour mood, and if not that, then hiding it poorly. Some times it’s not something you could see, but feel overall.

Could it be? All these other youths were forced to come here on account of their noble duties? At the sudden revelation Machi tilted his head to one side curious, brows furrowing in thought. Then maybe he wasn’t that much different from the rest of them. It was an encouraging thought to say the least. Still waiting, and getting quiet bored of it, Machi turned his head slightly to regard Fuego who stood behind him. In a low voice so that no one else but Fuego could hear, he spoke: “What is everyone saying?” His servant and aid leaned in a bit and asked that he be more specific. Machi didn’t really want to specify anyone as it would seem like he’s eavesdropping, but he was curious. The boy looked about curtly before answering; “The ones in the back?” Fuego didn’t turn but straightened to listen then leaned back in to speak to Machi.

“Forgive me sire, but they speak very quietly. However, everyone else is just greeting one another. Why do you ask Sire?”

Machi shook his head slightly. “Don’t you feel it? No one is very happy here.” At his comment, Fuego chuckled good naturedly.

“Sire, perhaps it is because the children feel the same as you when it comes to sitting down and getting lessons. Not only that, but they have been sent from their homes to stay here just as you have.” At the mention of ‘home’ the tropical islands that flourished under the sun flashed in his mind. Machi expelled a sigh but said nothing more as he considered this and he began to wonder just how 'far' these others were from home. Did they all really miss it? Were they all forced to come here? It was hard to say when you could not speak with them or even understand what they said. The language barrier was beginning to become quite obvious and irritating. At this point the prince simply wished for some down beat to being, and everything be started only hoping that things might be easier once they had.

Bella turned to the voice that was spoken to her to ask if that person could sit next to her. It was a red orange haired guy, a prince to be correct. "Not at all, go ahead...don't we all have the freedom to sit anywhere..." It was not of a question, more like statement. She turned to look away. She was not one to communicate with others well. 'I would have been better if I was not noticed during this year...maybe then I won't be in the way of others...' She thought sadly, but then something, more like someone caught her eyes. She couldn't but help to notice as her eyes followed him. It was another prince, but that is not what caught her attention, it was his hair. Bella is someone who has an obsession for hair styles, on both males and females, but mostly on males.

She was in awe with it's color. She liked it. It was dark violet and it looked just so alluring to her. It looked so long and soft, she wanted to touch it. She soon snapped back to reality, noticing her being too...dazed. She cleared her throat a bit and sat up properly. She slightly trembled, fidgeting her hands with the cloth of the skirt of her gown. She just glance at the prince with violet hair one more time in awe and then turned back. She let out a sigh. 'I should stop daydreaming...' She told herself. Her dark amethyst eyes scanned the room one more time, seeing other princes and princesses associating with another, she wished she cold be that outgoing or brave.

"Good thing I'm not a princess then, eh?" Grace said with a wink. This guy seemed kind of annoying because of his somewhat arrogant and dramatic attitude, but she didn't want to write him off just yet. Of all people, Grace knew that you could make friends with the strangest people. Speaking of which.... "AAAAAAAAAIIIIIIEEEE!" Grace screamed as a blonde-haired princess walked in carrying a spider the size of a chicken. Bugs, snakes, rodents, she could tolerate. But spiders were utter terror. The way they moved was just... ugh. Doubtless that wasn't helping her non-prissy reputation.

Lady Florizel's head whipped around as she heard the ill-mannered princess shriek. "What is going o- Oh! How vulgar!" she exclaimed as she noticed the girl with the enormous insect on her arm. It was taking all her composure not to swoon like a little girl. "Miss, do you own that abomination? If so, for goodness sakes, put it in a cage or something! That's not a proper pet for a princess!"

Lord Taite raised his eyebrows as he covered his ears. "Well, that girl has some lungs on her. Perhaps she would be good in music class?" he joked. Still, all jokes aside, his hand was on his sword. Even though he taught prince's how to be charming, that didn't mean he wasn't chivalrous as well. He would go to great lengths to help a damsel of distress.

"So very true Lord Canis. I think you have me cornered." Lady Josephine's lips curled into a small, but real smile. It wasn't necessarily a sweet, but probably the best thing you would get out of someone like her. Unlike like Lady Maybelline, Josephine believed that socializing was not necessary, or likable. But when she did talk, the Lady was very resourceful and intelligent.

Smiling himself, Canis was glad to see a smile on her that was real, not something she forced herself to do. "Don't worry, we've got all semester for you to get me corner." Shaking his head in amusement, he was about to bring up her music book when one of the princesses that had entered the dining hall started to scream. Turning his attention to them, he knew automatically that it was the spider on the other Princesses arm. Shaking his head from amusement, Canis turned back to Lady Josephine. "It seems we're to have some interesting students this year."

Having decided that she was just going to have to put up with the torture of being in such a horrible school, Cassi finally entered the dining room, only to take a hesitant step back out when one of the other girls let out a horrid scream. Confused, she looked around the room for prehaps some kind of pirate or theif, even a viking. Finding none, Cassi stared at the screaming girl as if she were insane. Prehaps the girl ought to be put in the dark...

Damien hid a quick grin, but his eyebrows were raised in amusement. Maybe they would have some fun after all; at least she had some wit.

The girl let out an piercing scream, and his first response was to clap his hands over his ears and run for cover. Fighting to keep his composure, he glanced over at the source of terror and found a princess walking around with the largest spider he had ever seen crawling on her arm.

What is that? he wondered, and his eyes widened ever so slightly. Damien feigned disinterest in the creature, but made a mental note to maybe stick around that girl and observe her pet. Pushing the thought out of his head for the moment, he sent the shrieking girl a look that was a mixture of disdain and amusement. The corners of his lips twitched upward in a smile, and he just sat there, giving her the look for a few moments before finally speaking.

"Oh my Lord," he smirked, crossing his arms before him. "What's wrong? Big creepy crawly scare the poor little girl?" A grin spread over his face and he leaned back in his seat, watching as the whole room turned to her. "Well, you really know how to steal the spotlight, don't you?" he commented dryly, before switching his focus to the audience.

"What are you looking at? Go on, go on, continue with your oh-so-interesting lives. Don't you people have anything better to do than gawk?" His tone was full of contempt and sarcasm, complimenting a sour expression. Briefly, Damien wondered if maybe the girl wanted the whole room's attention on her, and that he wasn't doing her a favour by chasing it away. Oh, well. Not like I can take anything back now, he supposed with a mental shrug.

Despite the Princes' comment, Cassi felt herself drawn to the girl. Taking a few steps forward, she finally noticed the spider; at first she was apalled by the thing, but that was just from its outward apperence. After a few seconds of merely staring at the thing, Cassi shrugged and walked away, though she hoped that she would later get to know the other princess better. As she passed the prince that had spoken, Cassi couldn't help but to be a bit snide; after all, though was no reason for him to be so rude when they were just meeting. Just before she passed him, she stuck her tongue out at him and made a nasty face, before walking a few seats down and taking her seat. Boys...

Aurora had sat down in her seat as she place Webster onto her lap. She then heard a loud scream from a girl nearby as she looked up in shock. It seemed the attention suddenly turned on to her. "Ugh..." she muttered under her breath as she looked around to see everyone's eyes on her. She heard Lady Florizel speak as she glanced over at the head mistress. "I can't m'lady," Aurora replied with a pout, "Webster needs to stay beside me plus she can't live in a cage. That's cruel!" She held the spider closer to her as she looked down at it. Webster was her first friend. She wasn't going to let anyone take him away from her even if she had to rebel. Her eyes then shifted to a prince who had stood up and made a comment about leaving her alone. 'Thank you!' she thought as she gave a small sigh while petting Webster's head.

Lukas sat in his seat with his right elbow on the arm rest as his chin sat upon his palm. The place seemed to be chattering around with conversations. He was glad that no one around him seemed to bother noticing him. He really had no intention to make any friends here in the first place so it was good that no attention has been drawn on to him. His ear suddenly rang out with a loud scream from one of the princess' as he glanced over to see another girl had walked in with a spider in her arms. 'Huh...' he thought to himself, finding it amusing how a girl would not be afraid of such creature, especially the kind that is abnormal. Lukas watched the commotion go around about the spider girl just when his amber, cold eyes caught a girl staring at him. She had glanced away quickly as Lukas narrowed down his eyebrows. 'What is she looking at?' he thought to himself as he gave a smirk and looked away.

"Sadly. I'm sure she will be a tough one. The smile had faded from her pale face, the rare moment gone. Lady Josephine's posture straightened, her back stiffening slightly. She looked over at the sister with a look of disdain at the other female's poor posture. But maybe it was out of jealousy.

Grace turned red as she realized just how loudly she had screamed. The comments of the boy next to her didn't help any either. "Well, I didn't mean to," she said huffily. "Spiders aren't exactly my favorite things, and that one is the size of a dinner plate!" At least she wouldn't be reprimanded for her outburst - Lady Florizel seemed just as terrified even though she hadn't been quite as vocal in her surprise. It was taking everything she had to keep her eyes facing straight ahead so they wouldn't wander to the girl with the spider.

With a sigh Lady Florizel turned to the faculty gathered around her. "What do you suggest we do? We can't allow her to have that thing roaming about - it'll disrupt classroom learning if the last five minutes have been any indication." Her face was still slightly pale from her first glimpse of the arachnid.

Lord Taite shook his head, light blonde locks swinging over one eye. "I think we should send it back to her home - it is less of a danger to the girls that way, and is in less danger from the boys that way. Doubtless there are several smaller spiders lurking about that she can amuse herself with." He quickly hid a smile at the thought. "

Damien raised an eyebrow and grinned at the girl before the princess walking by made a face at him. His grin flashed wider and he burst out laughing, which was rare. In a quick attempt to smother it, he turned his head away and covered his mouth with a hand. His two grey eyes sparkled in amusement even when he had regained his senses and his composure.

He stuck his tongue out in reply at the girl with light purple hair before turning to the one beside him. "Mmhm," he answered with a crooked smile, brushing his black hair casually from his eyes. "Of course, of course. Of course you weren't completely terrified," he drawled sarcastically, slouching comfortably in his seat. "And aren't you going to thank me for reprimanding the audience for their staring, Miss Not-A-Princess?" He met her gaze with a smirk. It was not a great source of entertainment, but it was something, and Damien didn't enjoy boredom. She would have to do.

Aaric Bromley looked up as the carriage his brother and he were riding in came to a slow halt. As Rylan stepped out, he looked out the window at the academy. Smaller than the castle at home, but still beautiful. They had a stable too, although they hadn't allowed him to bring his horse. Aaric grinned, his charisma showing clearly on his face. He may not have known it, but he was stunningly handsome. He hopped out of the carriage eagerly after Rylan, looking around at the grounds. "Yes, we should. It seems we're already late," he told his brother, realizing that all of the students were making their way for the double door entrance to the academy. In some ways he admired his brother, and they were almost like best friends. Neither thought of the poistion of the throne to be a competition, as either way they would both be powerful. They were both incredibly intelligent and strong, although Aaric would easily admit to Rylan being more studious and he being more into action. Aaric would also say he was more popular with the ladies, but humbly, and he had no idea as to why. Despite everything, he was chivalrous, polite, respectful, strong, slim, handsome and anything else you could ask for in a prince, or a king for that matter. Of course, he could be a better dancer, but he knew the basics, and could charm any woman on the dance floor. Not as easily as his brother though, of course. "It looks nice enough. The Academy, that is," he said, grinning ravishly again as he pulled on his nice gray coat which fell over his shoulders, unbuttoned over the crisp white shirt he wore underneath. Aaric was dressed nicely, as Rylan was, but not fancy. The carriage pulled off behind him, leaving their bags behind, lying all over the grassy ground.

Amira Hammel's glistening white carriage pulled up to the academy and she looked happily out the windows. The princess had been looking forward to this. She didn't get out of the castle much, and this would be a wonderful social situation for her. Quickly, she smoothed out her light purple dress, a color she didn't wear often, and fastened her tiara more tightly onto her head, where it sat comfortably. Her long purple hair hung down just below her shoulders and gave her a surprisingly elegant air. Amira smiled to the doorman as he opened the carriage and she stepped out, jewels glistening in the sunlight. Across the grounds, two young twins were stepping out of their own carriage, but other than that there were only a few students left inside. "I'd better hurry," she said, still smiling. Amira had wanted to go to the Academy ever since her sisters came back. They had seemed incredibly pleased, and knew so much more. She couldn't wait to find out what the place had in store for her. Amira lifted her bags off the ground and began to make her way to the castle. Her feet hurt a little; she was wearing nice purple high heels, and hadn't expected to be walking very far. But she was used to it, and was surprisingly strong for her small stature. Soon, she made it into the castle. Amira passed the beautiful entryway, looking around curiously at the paintings and tapestries, but was drawn to the dining room. There was a large clamor of people, but she couldn't see why. The headmistress seemed angry or distressed as well, and a worried look passed by Amira's face. She hoped no one was in hurt or in trouble, but she wasn't quite sure about what had happened. Shyly, she inched into the dining room, taking in the sight of everyone and everything.

Upon the commotion, Machi had turned to look abruptly but once he found the center of excitement, namely a young woman’s eight legged friend, the young island prince wondered what the big commotion was all about. He settled back as to not gawk as he was told many times that ‘it wasn’t nice to stare’. An unspoken rule that not many here followed obviously. Since the room was still in an uproar and excited chatters, Machi had to speak a little louder for Fuego to hear him. The servant once again leaned in bringing his ear close. “I did not know we were allowed to bring friends. Do you think it’s not too late to have Luft brought in?”

Luft was Machi’s royal guard and close friend. But he was what many in this country considered an ‘exotic animal’. Fuego shook his head speaking frankly. “I’m sorry sire, but I don’t think this school would look too kindly upon Luft’s presence.” This earned an indignant glance from the young man. But it couldn’t be helped. Even though, Machi felt it was nice that the young princess was able to bring her friend, who was quite impressive. It was probably excellent at catching small animals…There wasn’t a spider that big on his island. Deciding to try to be a bit social (as everyone else was) Machi stood and tried to wave at the princess Aurora who held her friend close trying to get her attention. Of course before speaking he had asked Fuego the proper language to convey what it was he wanted to say.

“Yoo friend. Is guard too?” Machi had a hard time pronouncing the words but he did his damn hardest and he spoke with a bit of confidence trying to imitate the words Fuego had told him to use. He wanted to know if by chance was, the princess’s friend was a guardian. Maybe they had more in common?

"Yes, this should not be too terrible," Rylan said with an uncharacteristic shrug. Usually he was more proper than that. With that, the two charmers headed into the building. The building was impressive on the inside, covered in marble. Gold and purple, symbolic of the power and wealth they would inherit were apparent in banners, apparently erected just for that day. Walking in sync, the twins arrived in the dining room. Rylan's ice blue eyes swept the gathering. It seemed the teachers were seated closer to the kitchen, and the students were gathered at the opposite end. He gave a formal bow in the direction of the faculty, though they seemed rather preoccupied at the moment, then turned to find a seat. He was surprised to see a spider of unusual size perched on a young lady's arm. A strange choice in a pet. Apparently it was the cause of the unease - she seemed to be holding it closely, and much attention was focused on her. He chose a seat fairly close to the teachers, hoping to catch a snippet of conversation that would be useful to him, though eavesdropping was of course frowned upon.
