I'd say orks and guard since guardsmen can hail more dakka than any army out there (though I'm still sure that orks can out-shoot them with the right list).

True, but I prefer the troops to put forth a deluge of fire and actually hit something with most of their shots. Orks might have a lovely assault shoota but with BS2 they need really large numbers to truly outshoot their foes proppa.

Now if only there was a way to take Ork allies and issue them orders. ninja

Bah, you math-hammer geeks shall burn in the warp! twisted

Bah, a single shoota is more proppa than a whole company of guards!
But you don't outshoot them with shootas only... You also have 45 deffguns at your side as well as some nice snazzy flash gitz. wink

And green proppa dice does the job! Makes me hit better than our space marine players! WAAAGH!

Bloodaxes perhaps? cool

Hang on, I despise math-hammer and gag every time someone starts calculating things to show off their brains.

I'm an uptight true to the Throne Imperial, I don't believe in allying with xenos.

Eldar/Tau would be an interesting combo. Eldar can pump out massive amounts of fire from mid/close and hold above most armies in assault, whereas Tau units would hang back and just pump out continuous fire while the more resilient Eldar units keep the opponent on the back foot.

Very true. That, or you could go Fire Warrior/Suit heavy Tau with maybe a Hammerhead for support and just have the Eldar swoop forward and clean up in close with Avengers and Scorpions.

It's a pity you can't load Sternguard or Vanguard veterans onto a Valkyrie in your regular games of 40k.

Very much so. I fully believe that in a game with allies, they should be able to share transports. For now, though, it'll have to remain a fun house rule.

Sharing transports is an interesting idea, but what happens when you start mix-and-matching races of radically different sizes? Trying to fit Space Marines in a Falcon or a Chimera might be tricky.

Ogryn can easily fit within a Chimera, man. Marines are far less horizontally bulky. Anyway, there's a way to lawyer rules around so that you have Terminators riding inside of a Chimera! Codex: Daemonhunters. Stormtroopers take a transport, and then Gray Knight Termies hop in.

Honestly in terms of Army Combinations:

Gunline Tzeentch (Thousand Sons heavy) with Necrons (similar to the 102 Necron list) works wonders. The Necrons serve as meatshields that respawn allowing the Thousand Sons to get within an effective range for their bolters. Trust me, my bro runs this whenever possible.

Space Marines with Grey Knights. Librarian with Force Dome and Might of the Ancients + Power Armored GK (Max Psycannons - although you could opt for one Incinerator if you feel the need for templates) is the most versatile scoring unit. Shrouding at max range of a Psycannon reduces chance of return fire to under 50%. Force Dome further augments this considering most weapons at that range have AP values that will pierce the PA save (hence giving you a "second chance"). Might of the Ancients adds some Anti-armor (something which GK kind of lack) and Aegis makes them Psyker resilient. Their gear is also top notch and True Grit really helps. All in all, I consider it a great scoring unit.

Another one from my brother is a Hybrid Sicarius/Khan list he has been playtesting. Sicarius' Rites of Battle is a godsend in a sense. As is Surprise Attack. He often uses Battle Forged Heroes - Infiltrate, to get some Meltas/Multi-meltas in earlier to eliminate enemy armor. Khan is in their for Outflank, which pretty much makes for an easy surrounding/trap. Just a nasty thing to fight if the battle goes his way.

Is it even Legal to team up Tau and Eldar for a game or does it have to be strictly one race? cause an Combined Eldar/Tau army would be sweet.

It isn't, unless you set it up as a House Rule. That said, I'd like to see a rule regarding "detachments" to show small contingents of allied forces dropping in from other races outside of the Inquisitorial Allies rules.

Yes, an Eldar/Tau group would be pretty bad a**. Especially if your Tau cadre was heavy on the range. (No Kroot!)
