The shinobi began to realize exactly what his problem was; he had so many ideas for training that it was hard to pick which would be the very best for his specific need. He decided that he would have to consider the season in his selection if he wanted to learn the technique quickly. This meant that anything involving water or something else that would need heat to be feasible wouldn't be possible. The test of endurance would have to be vigorous and would need to prove that he was in fact ready to learn the jutsu. If failed, Sukotto would need to continue to train his core abilities to improve his body so that he would be able to handle the training that the technique would require.

With a few possibilities ruled out, Sukotto found it easier to think of more specific tests of endurance that he could put himself through to assure himself that he would be able to withstand the tough training of the taijutsu that he was aiming to learn. The first idea that came to the teen's mind was to hold a large boulder above his head and perform squats with it. Since this would require the use of power in his lower body and balance in his upper body, it would definitely help him in determining if his frame would be ready for the advanced fighting style.

Sukotto figured that this idea would work for his training and decided to incorporate it into the blueprint. Lifting and holding a boulder above his head did sound quite difficult, but it would most certainly prove that he was ready to learn his technique

Since he had the course for the first stage of his training plotted, Sukotto decided to move on to formulating the next part. Although most taijutsu didn't actually drain chakra, it did require a degree of control to increase the strength of its various strikes and blocks. This meant that it would be necessary to incorporate some sort of chakra exercise into his training so that he would be able to pack his entire being behind the strikes that he would execute in his new technique. The only trouble that he would have would be figuring out a training that would involve using a great deal of energy in some measurable fashion.

A few ideas swirled through Sukotto's mind and he again found himself stuck between a few. He wasn't sure if he should train the strength of his blows on an object or not and if he chose to use an object, he wasn't sure which would be the best. Trying to crush a rock would probably be too much of a challenge and could potentially lead to injury, while striking ice couldn't be controlled very well, since the weather could suddenly get warmer in the middle of his training. If he decided against using an object, Sukotto couldn't think of any way to measure his progress other than with the help of someone else or his own judgment, both which weren't as reliable as a solid object would be. In addition, he didn't want to go through the trouble of finding someone to help him, wasting more of his precious training time. He also wasn't sure if anyone would even be willing to take the time to give him a hand.

With his mind at least set on using an object to aid him in learning to power the strikes in his new taijutsu, Sukotto only needed to decide on which object to use. He closed his eyes for a view moments and began to visualize Shimagakure, namely the areas that he had used for training. Visions of the landscapes and various items scattered about them entered his mind. He couldn't really imagine anything on the shoreline that would be able to be used, especially since most of it was covered in snow. As he continued to think about the area, the only thing he could imagine was making sandcastles out of the frozen dirt, and that definitely wouldn't work.

Then as another area came into focus within his mind, it finally hit him. The trees that protruded from the cliffs near Shimagakure would be a perfect tool in measuring whether or not he had developed his strikes enough. If the Uchiha was able to break one of the sturdy ones, he would be ready for sure.

Sukotto was just about half way done with creating the training schedule that he set out to make for himself and he already knew what he wanted to set up next. In memorizing techniques, shinobi and martial artists create physical encyclopedias that are known as kata. These movements, often disguised as dances, take a great deal of concentration not only to create, but also to execute and remember. Before he even knew anything about the technique that he sought after, the Uchiha knew that he would have to discover this technique's kata before he had any hope in learning it. Fortunately enough, the documents that he had found in the Kage's office outlined the mysterious dragon clan's kata. With this knowledge, Sukotto would be able to teach himself the technique and even be able to incorporate various other aspects of taijutsu that he had researched on his own, truly making the technique his very own.

Unfortunately, Sukotto had taken in so much information in his research, that he couldn't decide how he wanted to alter the kata to make it his own. He was sure that he wanted the taijutsu to primarily focus on kicks, since it had been that way in the dream that he had experienced in the Uchiha Estate. One thing that he also remembered was that he used his arms to deflect strikes in the dream. It was almost as if he were a bird floating through the air, keeping himself elevated with his legs and defended with his winglike arms. This lead the Uchiha to decide that the kata would involve a lot of jumping kicks and quick movements of the arms for blocks and fast strikes. Rather than the typical strong punches of regular taijutsu, this would focus on flapping and snapping his arms for a whip-like affect.

Since he wanted to make a total of five training sessions to learn the technique, Sukotto would have to think extra hard on the remaining two stages. He figured that it would be best if they combined the previous three stages into one each, so that he would be able to understand the importance of the training all at once. The only problem with this would be thinking up two ways to do so. Both the first and second stage were similar in ways, so he would treat them as one in his decision making process. This way, his only problem would be combining stage one and two with stage three.

The Uchiha decided that the second to last stage would be a grand one. It would combine the endurance and chakra of the first and second stage, the kata of the third stage, and the agility required by the taijutsu itself. He would concentrate chakra in his feet and run up the cliffs while performing a few of the various moves that he had learned in the kata on the occasional shrub that stuck out of the rock wall. To succeed, Sukotto would need to reach the top of the cliff and strike every plant in a designated zone along the way. It would be difficult, but would definitely show that he was ready for the taijutsu.

This stage is complete after the trainee has struck every object that they originally set out to hit while still reaching the top of the cliff.

The final training exercise that needed be to created was quite an obvious choice for Sukotto to make. Using the taijutsu in a sparing match would be the only way for him to successfully use everything that the technique's training had emphasized. However, there was no way to guarantee that he would be able to find an opponent of equal skill in Shimagakure, let alone even anyone who was willing to spare their time for him. What Sukotto needed to consider would be specific rules of the training that would balance the discrepancies between himself and whoever was willing to assist him in practicing the taijutsu.

After only a few moments of racking his brain, the Uchiha had it.. If he found an opponent that was weaker than himself, he would tie weights to his body to make up for the difference. On the other hand, if he was facing an opponent who's ability surpassed his own, he would ask them to tie weights to themselves so that it would be a fair match. This final stage of training would completely combine every element of the technique's training and add another important value: The importance of mutual trust between fellow shinobi. Winning or losing the match wouldn't matter, for everything that needed to be learned would be whether he won or lost the fight.

In the final stage of this technique's training, trainees must find a willing sparing partner to have a taijutsu duel against. If the trainee's skill is greater than that of their opponent's, they must wear training weights to make up the difference. On the other hand, if the trainee's opponent's skill is greater than that of the trainee, the trainee may have the opponent wear weights to eliminate the difference as well. This is a taijutsu spar in the sense that damage dealing ninjutsu, damage dealing genjutsu, and weapons are prohibited. The training is completed whether the trainee wins or loses, the importance of this training is to understand the workings of the technique in a combat situation and the importance of trust between two shinobi.

Sukotto allowed a heavy sigh to escape his lips as he finished writing the final stage of his new technique's training on the scroll that he had been using. The only three things that remained to be done were filling in the name and the description of the technique. The Uchiha considered using the original title of the technique that he had based his new taijutsu on. The clan of the dragon had called it "Fearless Style", but Sukotto was putting many of his own concepts into the taijutsu, so it would be incorrect to keep the same name. It only took him a few moments before a smile curled itself across his face. He thought of his favorite and most powerful technique, the "Phoenix Flower". The Phoenix was a mythical fire bird that stood for honor and glory. If the bird was ever killed, its body would catch aflame and smolder until only ashes remained. Eventually, a new phoenix was born from these ashes, ready to begin life anew. For Sukotto, this symbolized lifting oneself up after being beaten down by the hardships that one faced through life. With Kira leaving the village and the death of Ichi, Sukotto's life was at its lowest point and an evil feeling within his heart was beginning to consume him. The Uchiha needed to rise from the ashes of his once strong and happy self and move on with his life. This technique would be the first step in accomplishing that very goal. Without anymore hesitation, he simply named it, "Phoenix Form".

Technique Created:

Pheonix Form (Hosenka Katachi)
The Phoenix was a mythical fire bird that stood for honor and glory. If the bird was ever killed, its body would catch aflame and smolder until only ashes remained. Eventually, a new phoenix was born from these ashes, ready to begin life anew. This taijutsu emphasizes a tough training regiment that can aid in revitalizing anyone who is at a low point in their life. It primarily combines agility with taijutsu in the form of powerful kicks and quick and short flaps of the arms to deflect strikes.

After another slightly fatigued sigh, Sukotto rolled up the scroll that he had written the technique on and placed it into one of his pockets. He had memorized the training that he had written down so it was likely that the Uchiha wouldn't ever really have to refer to the piece of parchment himself. However, if there was anyone that ever wanted to learn the Phoenix Form in the future and he wasn't present to teach it, they would be able to refer to the scroll. After all, Sukotto would definitely want a technique that he invented to help future generations of Shimagakure shinobi. He did have quite a competitive spirit, but it wasn't so overbearing that it would cause him to want to keep any secrets that could help the village from the public eye.

Even though the genin had become quite exhausted, he wanted to learn his newly invented technique as quickly as possible, so he decided to head to the cliffs to begin his training. There was a possibility that he would have enough energy to finish everything in one day, but that would be quite a stretch, especially considering that he would have to find a willing partner to spar with for the final stage of the training schedule.

Serena halted as soon as she saw Shinichi stop as they neared the village. It was kind of quiet, but then, their leader's sharp orders broke the strange atmosphere. She could sort of sense that something was wrong, too, after he mentioned that there had been an attack. The air wasn't as clear as it should be on a winter day..something about the way it smelled, though she didn't know what it was. The Raiken turned and slowly began walking towards the library, sometimes waiting for Sorri to catch up. She really wanted to know what was happening, and considered turning back to take a little peek, but stiffened and sped towards the library the second Shinichi seemed to snap..an anger that she did not ever want to experience with him.

"Heh..finally in the Library..I guess we just gotta wait now.." She sighed in relief as they walked through the doors of the library, feeling a bit safer in the library, but still wary. It was quiet in there, too. She couldn't make herself feel very relaxed, though...The Raiken couldn't exactly forget that time with those clown people so easily. Which reminded her, what ever happened to them? They kind of just came, attacked for a bit, and then left to never come back again...she found a chair and sat down with another sigh. It had been a pretty tiring morning..it would be good to get some rest doing research, though she din't know what they were going to look up, yet. Genin sure is a lot different than being a student. And this was just the first day.

Tenko was sitting two tables away, reading up on (you guessed it) hypothermia in order to give Shimagakure's patients the best care she could afford. The woman was dead silent, not wanting to disturb the peace of the library, as she looked over drawings of people's fingers and toes caught in frostbite. It seemed strange for such a skittish nurse to read up on the subject so intently without fainting or even flinching, but Tenko had seen plenty of battle wounds in her days. The experiences, however, had not turned her into a blood thirsty mongrel like many of the island's inhabitants. Tenko looked up from her reading as Serena stepped into the room, her face blue probably from doing something outside. She had no idea what children did nowadays, at least not until she noticed that the girl's right leg was falling behind just enough to warrant and injury. "Serena, dear, did you fall somewhere and hurt your leg?" Tenko asked, concerned for the genin's health. It may have just been a slip on ice, but she was obligated to help the people in any way she could.

Serena gasped and whipped her head towards the sound of the voice calling her. Oh, it was just Tenko, the nurse. She wasn't aware that anyone else was in the library but herself. She relaxed back into her chair and cringed a little bit, just realizing that there was a point of slight pain coming from her right leg. Tenko had seen this before even she had realized it! But, how was that possible? The Raiken had not felt anything until the nurse made note of it. She had been out in the cold all day, though..and now that she was in the warmth of the library, her body must be warming up. That seemed to be a reasonable explanation to Serena. "Oh, Tenko-san! I didn't see you when I walked in...Ach..my leg? I don't know..it's so cold I can't tell.." She straightened her leg on and rubbed it. Slowly, her legs were defrosting..her ability to feel anything was still at a minimum, though. "I did fall a few times on my way to the Rice Farm, but I don't think that would have affected my leg..maybe it was in that fight. That chunk of ice it threw at me.." She was now talking to herself, not really remember Tenko was there listening. It was the only time she remembered anything going near her right leg. Serena went through her day as she relaxed her leg again, trying to remember it there had been any time at all where she had been hit there. "I don't think it would have hurt me much, though.." The Raiken told herself and she rubbed her hands for warmth.
