neonibbles At the yahoo group I posted a link to important threads. I think that's what it's called. But in there somewhere is a description of the events that happen. You might want to take a look. i shall have a look, i'm generally pretty lazy about reading through things like that so it's my own fault when i don't know how things work isn't it?? smile

Did you just start being active today? The yahoo group is the purkle couch one at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/purkle_couch/and I'm not sure where the exact post is that barbie is referring to, but I'm sure one of us could track it down if needed.

simlizzy *wonders how I can be so proficient on neopets, and so lost here* HEHEHE. I thought the same thing when I first got here. Now I feel totally comfortable--in fact, more comfortable here than on Neo lately.

Ok, the important links are in post number I think 4 of this thread. And for the yahoo group, page 2 post 3 of this thread. Just click the link in those posts. No problem helping in anyway. Also, Lizzy needs to take a look in the closet for some decent clothes to wear. Just pm me what you are interested in.

EternalHearts Now I feel totally comfortable--in fact, more comfortable here than on Neo lately. Me too. I'm fed up with so many things about neo lately that I've been staying away mostly except for lab ray and bank interest. I'm here most of the time now!

Honestly, I think Gaia is about as glitchy as the othere place, but they seem to let ya know what is going on. I don't see as many "the entire site is missing" pages. The guilds have been down. The last time I saw them down, a note appeared saying they would be down for ten minutes. And if you know where to look, you can see what problems they know about, which I think means they are working on them. I've even seen technical detail as to what they are doing to fix things...not that I would know the difference. eek
But the number one thing is so far they haven't promised anything that they haven't delivered. I like that. I really do.
We all know how irritating it is to be looking forward to something only to find out that it's no longer possible (a certain started, but never completed, puzzle) crying
I have the feeling that things here are thought all the way through before being promised.

That's a good point about delivering what they promise! I never thought about that!
My irritation with neo isn't the glitches or downtime, but rather the risk of getting frozen for unfair things like refreshing the wiz too much on a usually inactive account and then NEVER hearing from support again after the initial auto-response. rolleyes And I'm irritated with all their offsite linkage and THREE ad-banners per page.
But you're right about not delivering what they promise, and also putting too much attention on some things, and completely forgetting about other things because they have so much on their plate. They have done well though, and they can pat themselves on the backs for creating such an addicting site in the first place. It sure got me hooked for 4 years.

i feel i should be grateful for my lack of children as these seem to be the main reason why people have become disenchantd with Neo, i stil very much enjoy playing on there. but i have to say that's mainly because of the couch. before i rejoined the couch i had got to the stage when i didn't bother with Neo that much, once i'd found that my pets didn't actually die i neglected it quite a bit. but since becoming a more active Purkle i spend much more time on there again.i suppose a lot of it is that i also don't get any of the ads so they can't annoy me!

I must agree with fawN on me irritation with Neo. I love my pets, and will never abandon them, but I feel really used by TNT. And, even though I want to donate for all the joy they've given me, I refuse to do it JUST to get rid of the ads and all--I'd rather donate with love than to get rid of something that I shouldn't have anyway.
And Jelly, how did you get rid of all the ads? I have FireFox, and the Adblock, but I still get the ads no matter how many times I "block" them.

It is one of the benefits to being a premium member. But like you said, that's paying to remove what shouldn't be there anyways...

EternalHearts . And Jelly, how did you get rid of all the ads? I have FireFox, and the Adblock, but I still get the ads no matter how many times I "block" them. i don't know! i think it's something my pet pc engineer has done, the next time i let him visit i'll get him to show me what it was so i can pass it on! all i generally see is a big blank space with a line saying'this page contains paid advertisements' i did have the odd yahoo one pop up for a second or so last night on the top banner, but that's all i've seen for a few months now, sorry i can't be any help on this at the moment sad
