To debate you must discuss. A discussion is not always a debate, but a debate is always a discussion. Stop doing it in my thread. A discussion that doesn't allow for any kind of debate becomes very one sided and uninteresting. What you're saying is that, this being a discussion, people are allowed to display their opinion, but once they have done so no one is allowed to display the opposing opinion. After all that would be debating and you just can't allow things like that in your thread. Why don't you want debating in your thread? Is it that you put debating in the same group with arguing or fighting? And if people fight then it ruins the friendly atmosphere you had intended on making? People will be angry and won't enjoy themselves right? Do you know what I think would make people much angrier? Seeing that someone has posted something that in their opinion is true, but they see it and are offended by what they consider to be completely untrue. They want to respond by pointing out why it is untrue, and share their own viewpoint on it, but are told that they aren't allowed to debate cause this is strictly a discussion and no amount of arguing will be tolerated. That would certainly make me angry. If you still don't want any debate in your thread make sure people know that they aren't allowed to post their opinions. Unless your plan is, in fact, to alienate those who might disagree. Woah, Krego, calm down. You take things way too seriously. If you feel so strongly that you MUST debate with someone, PM them, then we're all happy. You get a big fat 5 sometimes on that scale. xD Why would I just pm the person that said it? Pming the person who said it won't likely change anything. Everyone else still sees their offensive post. The point is to make sure everyone knows the fault in their post.

There is no fault in what someone says unless it's a flame. And if you don't think it'll change anything without you putting in the effort to PM them about it then it clearly won't make a difference if you just respond to their post here.

Txt. Some of my text-messaging peeps annoy me. "Hey wat r u doin". It's a lot different to me to do it on a computer; I know, it's a lot faster to type out your words than repeatedly hit little buttons on your phone, but when I get charged 10 cents every time someone sends a dumb message (and then wanders off for an hour and instead of responding with something legitimate just say "oh dats cool wat ru doin now") and therefore wasting precious cents.... Well, it makes me a little cranky. XD In general I hate anyone who can't at least half-assed send a message with either value or grammar skill (though both would be nice, though I only know of 3 people who do that).
Yeah... gets me ticked.

If I'm not one to say something is wrong then who is anyone else to say something is right? The very purpose of a debate is to clarify what is wrong and what is right. Everyone doesn't always agree at the end of the debate, but if you don't debate then all you have is one persons biased opinion. Moreover, it's my old AIM handle where I was only allowed 16 letters and I was feeling less than inventive the day I joined gaia. XP Fight-picker.

I said something that you probably thought was offensive (or at least assumed I had meant to be offensive), but according to your own rules you can't debate it.
