Mel felt something on his back hoof, figuring it was some sort of bug, he rolled over, almost squishing the wolf in the process. "Oh hey, you must be Alyna's wolf friend. My name's Mel, what's yours?" he asked as he smiled politely down at the wolf. "You're not very scary. You would have had a better chance to try and scare me if you had just jumped on my head. I can guarentee that would have sent me a couple feet in the air," he chuckled. "You two actually look alike. Coincidence?"

Lyka yelped as she was almost squished. "I'm Lykaina, but you can call me Lyka." She murmured, giving Mel dark looks. She hadn't quite forgiven him for almost squashing her. "I didn't want to be killed, 's why I didn't jump on your head. I figured you wouldn't like that much. Anyway, 's good to meet'cha, Mel. I assume that's short for a humdinger of a name, prob'ly one I won't be able to pronounce." Lyka grinned, swishing her tail absentmindedly. She was puzzled at his last statement. "We look alike? That's rather strange of you to say, a wolf and a mare looking alike."
Alyna leaned down and nuzzled Lyka. "I'm glad you're back, how was the hunt?" Lyka shrugged and smiled. "It wasn't much good, this place doesn't have much game. But don't worry about me, I'll manage." Alyna turned to Mel. "This is my familiar, Lyka, but you knew that already." Alyna laughed a bit, her relief that Lyka was alright evident in her features. Alyna worried about Lyka when she went off hunting, but she wouldn't ever tell Lyka that. Lyka would think she was being foolish.

Mel chuckled a bit. "Nah I don't think I would have killed you. Maybe bruise ya a little but not kill," he teased. He looked at both of them and nodded, not changing his mind about what he had said. "Yeah you two look alike. You're both brown and white. Don't you see it? It's really pretty obvious. And yeah my name's pretty long but if you're curious, it's Melanthios." He had a feeling she'd have some smart alec comment about his 'humdinger' of a name.
((I'm sorry it's short my brain's still shot but you deserved a reply after so long xP))

Alyna and Lyka looked at each other. "No, I still don't see it." Lyka said, smirking a bit. Alyna smiled. "I see it a little bit. I think we'd look alike if Lyka had spots. Her fur is a darker brown than mine is, though, so even with the spots she still wouldn't look exactly like me." Lyka grinned, "I don't envy your spots, missy. T'would make hunting fair difficult, it would."
Lyka chuckled when she heard Mel's full name. "I don't blame you for sticking with 'Mel.' That's a mouthful, that is. It probably has some big meaning to it, something that your parents thought was clever, and you've probably been picked on for your name, just 'cause no one can say it." Lyka smiled warmly, an odd occurrence for the wolf. "My name means 'little wolf'. I was always being teased when I was younger because the other pups couldn't say 'Lykaina.' They always got stuck at 'Lyka,' so that eventually became my nickname. I'm assuming it's the same with you."
