He nodded softly and said "Yes, there's that...but until I can't work with my family anymore then anyone I get to close to could cause me problems." His position in his family wasn't something he shared very often...but that was more because he never had anyone to share it with.

"Cause you problems....." Kitoko repeated, not understanding what Andre meant. Her smile receded, her head cocked to the side.

He wasn't sure just how involved she was with anything in his trade, but his family was one of well known assassin's which led to his curiosity on how she would react. He sighed and said "I'm Andre Hemming, First Class in the shadow court of my family, and I wield Anacreos." His sword if not him was known as well, the sword was hand forged by him as was tradition and the only thing allowing him to wield it was the strength of a shape-shifter."

Kitoko's impish smile returned. "Ah, a Hemming," she said. "I think we may find ourselves in a bit of a tough spot, seeing that my full name would be Kitoko Minh Fowl. Our families have hated each other for how long?" Kitoko's smile broadened. "Of course, I dont know if that matters to you....."

He almost visibly flinched at the name of the clan he was raised to hate. He let his eyes flick across her once more before looking forward and growing a little quiet. Her admittance may have shaken him a little bit...but he was actually taking a chance and thinking about letting this little midnight outing continue. His training would have told him to slit her throat with a clan blade that every member carried with them everywhere they went, but for some reason he was hesitating. He looked over at her, his eyes now a mix of emotion as his mind strained itself to decide what to do.

Kitoko smiled and laughed. "Oh, dont worry. I've been kicked out. I didnt agree with their motives. Its one thing if all you do is the killing, and your boss takes care of all the legal stuff, but when you start doing it all, I think thats getting in too deep." After a moment, Kitoko added. "In fact, you could say I detest them. I dont do well with all their rules and how formal everything is."

He let out a slow breath and let a small smile return as he said "If anyone had a reason to be kicked out of ours they'd be killed..." His clan was strict yes, but as strange as it may seem to some were actually fair.
He looked around for a moment and asked "What do you do now that you have no clan?" He was taught that without a clan, a family in his eyes, then you had nothing. That's how they were raised, and that's what he and most everyone else believed in.

"Ah, I should be dead, you see. I have some valuable Fowl information in my grasp, which is manly where things are. I would be dead, but there are more important ex-Fowls to kill out there. I stay quiet, as far as they know, but not everyone does. Different ex-Fowls do different things. Some flee to other clans and give them info in exchange for acceptance, others, like myself, wander about on our own, while others form groups and stay quietly together, and yet others form groups and sabotage Fowl operations. My brother does the last." Kitoko smiled. "Thats the short version."

He nodded softly and although his mind immediately sprang to what information she may have, he tried to think her as he had known her only moments ago. He looked forward slowly and said "It seems like wandering would become lonely after some point."

"Ah, that it does, but you get used to it. I've been doing it for.... how long? three, four hundred years, and I'm one of the most recently ex ex-Fowls." Kitoko's eyes grew cold. "The most recent was a seven year old. I can imagine how cruel someone must be to send someone that amazingly young out into the world....." Kitoko gazed at the ground, a scowl on her face.

He nodded softly and looked down to the ground in thought as he asked "Ever thought of trying to join another clan?" He hadn't meant to even try and get her involved in this was, but she kinda already was, and she could prove to be quite useful. He let his eyes drift back to her and said "You could become an informant of sorts..."

"Nah, I havent thought of it. I enjoy wandering. Its safe, too, especially alone." After a moment, Kitoko added, "At least, I havent thought about it lately..... Whats your clan like?"
