“I’m taking all that into consideration but I haven’t made a decision yet.” Also keeping her eyes on Osprey, Liana tried work out the most polite non-committal answer. “Well, Ossie, don’t be shy. Feel free to take it.”For a moment she considered telling Breeze to stop lecturing the fledgling as the little female probably had parents and minders (maybe even a teacher or a mentor) to guide her on such matters. But she held her tongue back, looking for a way out of the situation. “Maybe we should go find your parents? They might be worried.”
Breeze nodded at the fledgling and eyed her skurri for a brief moment before speaking. “I brought a small gift. I am most pleased with the command you taught Ally and I would like…”
“Ally was very easy to teach.” Liana interrupted brusquely. “And the service was paid in full. There is no need for any further… compensation. So, what do you think, Ossie?”

The youngster gave a swift bob of her head and moved to the squirrel to tear a piece with her small, dark beak. After several small gulps of the warm squirrel and quietly listening to adult talk, she looked to Liana and spoke.
"I li'with Papa Twist... Minder." It had taken her a good deal of time to be able to differentiate between minder and parents, but to her, Twist was still her papa.

“Twist? Do you mean Twistumbler? I’ve heard of him, I think, though I don’t believe I’ve ever had the pleasure of teaching one of his fledglings. I must have known where he lives at some point but I can’t remember it now… are you interested in a specific task?” the last sentence came out a bit suddenly as if the teacher was unable to hold it in.
For a moment, Liana was sure the teacher was going to offer to take Osprey home but she quickly found herself disappointed. “How about I accompany you back to your tree before your minder gets worried?”

"Y'I'd like to go home..." Ossie replied to Liana quietly, but perked up as Breeze inquired about the task she was most interested.
"I wanna be a... A... A... A Ranger!" She fluffed her feathers out proudly and stood as tall as she could, then faultered. "Or a... A Scout. I wanna do good f'everyone!"

There was a visible gleam of approval in the teacher’s eyes as Breeze smiled contently. “Lovely, lovely! I’m sure you’ll give our great Clan an important contribution. We need more scouts, gatherers, hunters, rangers…! Well, Ossie, maybe I would like to have a word with your minder and tell him what a great job he’s doing: raising a fine youngster such as yourself. Though I’m quite sure he already knows that.” The ghost’s eartufts perked up excitedly and she turned to the little female with a renewed interest, giving the fledgling a much closer inspection.
Liana couldn’t help but feel slightly offended that her task wasn’t mentioned. She had been quite disappointed with the lack of interest the keeper occupation had gotten during the last graduation ceremony and she often worried about the low number of bloodlines that interested her. She studied Breeze’s expression silently and finally exhaled loudly, letting go of the irritation. She was tired of being angry. “I guess we can both take her back. It shouldn’t take too long…” her musical voice released each word with her usual softness and the aberrant smiled widely at Osprey.

While the teacher still seemed intimidating to the young Osprey, the sudden words of praise and approval did seem to make her less threatening. All Ossie had to do was to pretend that her eyes were not such a red hue, that was what bothered her. She fluffed in a bit of embarassment, though it was not uncommon. Twistumbler did make a fuss about her from time to time and he was always most encouraging.
Ossie had never, for a moment, doubted that she could do something. She had not been told she couldn't.
"W'gonna go back t'Papa Twist, now?" She asked enthusiastically as she hopped closer to Liana and peered up at her with her golden orbs, then turned back to Breeze with the same eager expression.

"Yes, I think we better go before anyone comes looking for you. Only Noctus knows the worry of a minder when his little one starts to stray too far from the nest. And we might as well have a small chat about my little proposal, Liana… if that’s alright with you. I was hoping you could teach Ally a thing or two as well but we might have to postpone it to another night. I can pay you now if you’d like though.” The ghost raised a talon holding the dead mouse she had caught earlier.
“I don’t think I’d feel comfortable to let you find your way back on your own… I’ll feel much better knowing you’re safe, Ossie! I won’t go too fast but let’s see if you’re able to keep up. Dash, ride with me.” Liana seemed rather lively now speaking to Osprey with a cheeky tone and winking at the small challenge she had just proposed. The moment the tiny mus scurried back to his designated place between the keeper’s wings, the aberrant flew up in the air with grace and swiftness and a shrewd observer would most likely notice how Breeze immediately narrowed her eyes at the keeper’s movements. Liana however, was far more interested on the fledgling to even pay attention to the teacher now and she started moving towards the spot Alethia had indicated earlier, too proud to admit the emptiness of her stomach to the red-eyed ghost. “Perhaps we can talk about it, Breeze... though you can keep your catch as I’m not really that hungry. We’ll sort out those matters later. Let’s go, Ossie!”
Breeze lingered behind for a moment, in order to take a good look at Osprey’s departure. She couldn’t help but to feel the keeper was doing all she could to avoid committing to any kind of interaction between the two. Still, a lot had been said between them and though all that unpleasantness would never really vanish from their memories, the fact that they were able to go back to a civilized conversation gave the teacher some hope for the future. Swallowing the rodent quickly, she readied herself to fly. “Yes, you can discuss these matters at more suitable moment. Let’s go child, keep up with Liana. Ally, follow.”
((I think this can be my lat post!))

Ossie lifted her little wings and flapped them a few times, for good measure. This was what she was worried about, having to fly in front of the adults. She was still a young fledgling and her abilities were still lacking.
"Awrigh', here I come!" She warned and launched off of the branch, flapping her little wings furiously. For a moment it looked as though she would drop, but she managed to keep herself in the air. She was wobbly, though, and somewhat frightened to be away from the branch.
OOC: Mine, too!
