Cassette my mom is on gaia. >.> she was actually one of the alpha testers for the Gaian towns. But it's cool. SHe likes the advice I give and buys me donation letters. I showed my mom Gaia once. She was impressed, and like my avatar. She liked the way that LI worked, and actually hinted at wanting to set up her own account. When I brought it up later, she basically ignored it, so we never really spoke about it again. But trust me, I don't think she'd be the greatest person to be on here. I could just see her post now: Oooo noes!!!!111one My husbnd left me 4 anothr woman and I dont no what 2 do!!111

My mom knows that I do visit Gaia on occasion, But She doesn't really know what kind of things people talk about on Gaia. I don't really think she needs to know, either pirate

My 'rents don't know.
My brother does though.
But it's mildly embaressing because the only guy he knows of who uses it, is very... gay.
Nothing against gays, just I'm not gay.

my parents don't know i'm on here, even though they walk in when i'm on, i just close it out, i don't think they would mind though if they saw what it really was, but they just hate chat rooms so..... even though this isn't a chat site

I'm sure my mom knows that I'm on this site called Gaia, but then she doesn't really know what people talk about here. I'm sure she'll be ok with me reading and responding to it though, since I usually avoid the stuff directly about sex. As well though, my mom doesn't go on the internet, so she doesn't really know much about it, so me telling her on I'm on this website doesn't mean much to her.

Ummm... hhhmmm...
I don't know if mine know or not. But then again, I paid for my own computer, my own internet connection, and my own home (seeing as how I moved out almost 6 years ago). So I guess that makes it a moot point for me.
However, as a parent myself, I'd monitor my kids if they were old enough to be on Gaia (they're only 3 and 4 right now). I wouldn't be a spastic paranoid freak about it, but I would want to make sure they weren't venturing into any unsafe territory.. but I'd do that with ANY of their internet activity, not just Gaia.
As long as my kids were being safe and smart about their internet activities, I wouldn't mind what they did on the computer.

My mom doesn't much care what I do as long as I'm not looking at porn. I live with my aunt now, and she doesn't much care either. I show her stuff on gaia sometimes, or rather things I make for gaia (shoutbox sigs, artwork). She thinks they're neat.
My aunt trusts me, I watch R movies and she doesn't mind. I'm just really mature for my age and I always have been, so rules have always been loose.

I never thought that perents would be so anti-gaia... Especially the Life Issues forum.. Isn't it refreshing to see your child ineracting and giving helpful advise to others in need? I wonder if parents act as if it is a terrible thing just because they know nothing about it, and are hence threatened. Or maybe it's an attention to schoolwork and family deal..? Never understood it, like Chalda I dont live with my parents, and I pay for my own stuff. Thank god.. my parents have so many issues that it is [at times] relaxing to live alone.

Well, I only had to deal with this issue once, while I still lived with my parents.
I was on the computer and my mother walked in to the room and asked what I was doing. I pointed at the poster's avatar and declaired, "I'm yelling at that idiot." At which point she decided to ask why he was an 'idiot.' I told her that he, at 16 got his girlfriend pregnant and that they were keeping the child. She promptly told me to keep up the good work and left the room.
