"Oooh," Sequoia said, leaning forward on her toes. "That's a pretty one." She walked forward slightly. "May I look at it?" She smiled warmly at him.

"Why would I tell anyone? Until now, I didn't know who's ship this was. Besides, there was another one right beside it. Why should I care? You know, if you should be worried about anyone, it should be you. Bringing complete strangers to your ship, letting them SEE who runs it, that's a big breach in security, isn't it?"

"Well first off, we never know who you are. And don't you think free room & board is better than death? The boss thinks so which is why you're here. If it was me I'd just have shot ya in the head right when we dragged you on board, then dropped you in some desert. And what you saw can be quickly erased from history with the death of you two." said Octavian pointing to the two prisoner's with both hands.

KC gave Surika a side glance. "First of all, you wouldn't have to kill her, just me. Only other wolven can talk to animals, and so far I haven't seen any but me. And of course Surika only ever talks to me. Second, I still want to know why I'm so important to your boss. And lastly, I prefer the outdoors to a room. No rooms I have ever found have a bed I can really nest in."

"Other wolven, exactly." sighed Octavian "Their are others. And how would we know the pup wouldn't tell. Being dead you wouldn't have much time to say it would you? Now... why are you important? Because A, you're a witness. B, a wolven would be an interesting member of the crew... and F**K," swore Octavian. "The boss is gonna kill me for telling you that... . Um... oh want me to get some leaves or some s**t like that to bed this place down?" he asked.

KC raised an eyebrow. "Uuuuh huh. That's alright, 'cause that's not what I meant. Crew, huh? Hmm..." She leaned down to Surika again, speaking quietly. She barked and KC nodded. "Interesting..."

The screw up had seemed to un nerve Octavian. He got up and began to pace around. "Um... so what do you need to get comfy, cause those were my orders. Also....please dont tell anyone that I let that slip. And um...." There was a knock on the metal door. A big tan, stonefaced man came into the room. Had the ceiling not been 8 feet high, he would have broken through to the next level above. In a deep bass voice, which approached one end of the limits of human hearing, the man said, "The boss want's to see you up stairs."
"Ok John, um... get... this young lady some food while I'm gone." With that Octavian left the room. He was gone for 5 minutes, and in the mean time, John seemed to have a staring contest with the wall above and behind KC's head. What was odd is that he appeared to be winning. After what seemed like an hour with John, Octavian brought two trays; one with fried and breaded meat, the other with raw meat. John left. "He you go." he left and returned with a bowl of water, and two canteens. He put down the bowl and handed a canteen to KC. "Here you go miss..., what's your name by the way?" asked Octavian taking a swig of his canteen of water.

KC's eyes widened the whole time. She shook her head and smiled, then sniffed the meat. Sneezing, she said, "I'm KC. And this is Surika, in case you were wondering." She swallowed a mouthful of water and continued without looking at him, "And that's all you need to know." She subconsiously ran a hand down Surika's back while she tore into the raw meat. Her mind seemed to be somewhere else, as her eyes where unfocused while she stared in space. Shaking her head, she asked, "So... Any other female crew members on this ship or do you only get girls through kidnapping?"

"Alright, but do not attempt to steal it... I wish to gain much ground for future kin." Nelash held the gem and bent down to show it to her. the gem sparkled with a bright blue glow.
Sek's voice blared loudly around the ship, "I demand a response! Surrender to the Chronos Armada or be destroyed!" Sek didn't like being ignored.

"Well there is.... Hanna, Jhoira, Sisay, Orim, and Mirri. And I guess i'll just get raw meat for both of you next time." said Octavian nervously. "Tell me if you need anything." He sat in his chair again sipping the water. "So what do you, KC?" asled Octavian.

"Why would I steal it?" she asked, giving him a funny look. "I'm not a thief. And I don't like possessions. I barely have any. Just my clothes and my knife." She grinned widely and observed it carefully, saying small things to herself. "Wow," she said. "This is one is in good condition." She leaned back, standing straight again. "Would you like a way shown to Gaia? I was thinking about going back now anyway." She put on a sour expression, thinking of how her father would react from his order in the first place. Well, if he'd meant it, he could have come and told me himself, she thought grumpily.

{i never meant to ignore u SPI, but for some reason it never showed ur posts on my laptop... *shrug*}
Leaving Kc with John in the sound proof hold, Octavian stormed up to the control room. He had to run from the hold, due to the blasted Chronos ultimatum. He doubted it would actually destroy his ship, with the incredibly strong shields, and the speed, but you never know. If it did destroy it, the Chronos ship would be ripped apart by his own claws. He collapsed into the control chair. All the crew plus the two prisoners were on.
Something beeped. The probes we're done with their search. 1 occupant on the ship. Octavian's eyes widened. One occupant controlling such a large ship. The man must be a genius. "Prepare a direct voice message."
Octavian talked into the mic, "Dear sir. Yes I know that you have one person aboard. Just as you didn't have the fake lines for a bit, we didn't have a cloak. I propose a negotiation. We join forces. Your ship would be easier to use with more people, and we need a place to stay. We mean no harm. We are simply traders who need a base. What do you say?" Octavian keyed off the mic.

"Clever. I was going to hire any men who I could count on from your crew if you surrendered. I didn't think that you'd have scanners as powerful as mine to determine the dummies were false, but I guess I have to hand it to you. Only Chronos had that kind of technology last I knew. Before I make a deal, who are you?" Sek said, a bit surprised they'd found out his flagship was empty.

"That would be wonderful, forest-watcher." the S'rik did an awkward bow.
(Forest-watcher is a S'rik term of respect.)

"Octavian Nothing, free trader at your service." said Octavian into the mic. " Now, if we have this truce, why not open one of those hangers?"

KC didn't really appreciate being left behind, but she could somewhat hear what was going on. It intrigued her, so she thought she'd follow Octavian. She tried the door: locked. "More and more interesting..."
