[[Alrighty then.]]
Kyo barely noted the sound of what seemed to be someone singing out in the hallway. He had his mind too focused on the boy here he had brought home with him. Well, he looked like a boy still regardless of age. It was a bit confusing to consider that the boy here was really older then him but that didn't really matter so he didn't think on it. All he needed to know were the facts here. Which were at the moment just the fact he had this young boy known as Satoshi cowering under a blanket on a couch in his living room. He was really trying to figure out what he could do here with him. He had stuff to do and yet he didn't exactly want to leave him here. He was so deep in thought on the subject he wasn't aware that his cousin had entered the room. He only took note of him when he heard his voice and felt he had slung his arm around him. He didn't exactly hgink to reply back with his current set of thoughts. He did however think to say something towards his next comment. Personally he didn't really care for anything dealing with humour. It wouldn't serve to help him in anyway so what was the point. Though he considered saying something he really just rolled his eyes a bit before coming to speak. "I didn't do anything." That was the truth here as he had just gotten home not too long ago with the strange boy here. "It's the weather or rather the thunder." He wasn't so sure if the lightning also scared the boy but either way Satoshi was in this position. "You know you really don't have to mind me and my...guest." He considered saying the last part not sure what to make of Satoshi yet. He also wasn't sure he wanted Satoshi to meet his cousin. Not that he supposed any harm could come from it but really he was already just dealing with this situation.

"Scared of thunder?" Hayato blinked and then he grinned, "How irresistably cute." He ruffled Kyo's hair and the leaned over the couch. "Hey there lady, you don't have to worry about thunder, it's not gonna hurt you at all."
Satoshi blinked. Was he just called 'lady'? He was not a lady! He threw back the covers and stared at the blond with a frown. "I'm not a girl." Thunder crashed and he cringed, but stayed outside the blanket. "I'm a boy."
The cousin blinked at the boy on the couch before he looked at Kyo. Suddenly a horrified expression crossed his face. "No! Kyo! Tell me it's not true! You... haven't... crossed to the other side... have you?" His eyes filled with tears. "What will your mother think when I tell her! I've failed the family! This can't be so! And... such a little boy... you can't tell me that you're into... shota...."
Satoshi gave the cousin a funny look, but he couldn't help but smile at the antics the man was using. He was a funny man. Much funnier than Kyo, anyway. What was 'shota' and... what did he mean by 'crossing to the other side'?

Kyo found what he saw was the interaction between his cousin and the boy he picked up to be somewhat amusing. Well, at least with the assumption that he had brought home a girl. He had to wonder what his cousin was thinking. When would he ever ever bring anyone back home period. He wasn't thinking to dwell on it though. Not when he was listening and watching what was going on. It hadn't directly involved him until he heard his cousin speak to him. Sounding as if he was surprised as if he had brought home to do something in particular. He knew what his cousin was thinking and he did not look amused by it. In fact he said nothing as he stood there simply staring at his cousin. "I didn't bring the boy here to do anything with." He stated this in a serious tone. "This boy, Satoshi is his name, I came across him when I had to save his life earlier today and since then he's been with me." As far as he knew the boy had no where else to go and he didn't feel the need to kick him out or something of the sort. He couldn't bring himself to do something like that. "And, I'm definitely not into shota." He knew what his brother referred to and as far as he knew didn't find himself attracted to such. "He'll be staying here for awhile." He didn't have an exact amount of time. He didn't mind the boy staying here but it was more like he was living with his cousin so it was up to him really. Briefly he spared a glance towards Satoshi only to look back towards his cousin wondering what he would say and what he was thinking now.

Hayato quirked an eyebrow. Kyo saved the boy? He looked back at the kid huddled on the couch and leaned over, crossing his arms. "Hm." Another person in the house meant another mouth to feed. Another mouth to feed meant more energy being used. He wondered if they would have enough money to feed a growing boy. His green eyes stared at the kid and the kid stared right back with different colored irises. "Hm..." He stood up again and ruffled his blond hair, looking up at the ceiling. "I dunno, Kyo, we don't have much food. If you can think of a way to get more food I don't see a problem with it, but as of right now, I'm worried that we won't have enough to feed him and ourselves." He looked back at his cousin, a little disappointed that he was so serious about things.
"I can work!" Satoshi said, excitement filling him. He had never worked before! It could be fun! "I can work," he repeated, "I know how to grow plants! And I know how to throw balls high enough to make them come down and bounce back up right as high. And I can get kids to listen to me." He nodded proudly, forgetting there was a storm until thunder crashed twice in a row and he was left huddling back on the couch. "I uh... I can work anywhere there aren't any storms..."

Kyo frowned a bit at what he heard his cousin say. Of all the moments he had to be serious. This had to be one of them. That was just great. Well, he couldn't possibly through the kid out. But he understood what Hayato was saying. He was thinking over his possible options, when he heard Satoshi speak. Saying he could work. Was he serious? He was going to comment but then he heard him go on. Well, if he looked older, he supposed he might be able to do something.
"I don't know if you really could get a job," Kyo was thinking over it. He didn't think he could get the boy a job. Besides, why would he. When he could work himself. "I'll get a job." He could get a part time job, seeing as how he went to school. It was the least he could do. Right? Even considering the crazy things the kid told him earlier. He wasn't thinking to be cruel here. Like telling the kid to go back where he came from. It wasn't like he was upset. This was just a problem. One he was determined to get passed.
"I'm sure I can get something after school." More responsibilities. That was just great. But it didn't have him changing his mind. He would do something.

Hayato listened to the boy as he chirped his eagerness to get a job and nearly chuckled as he returned to huddling at the first crash of thunder. A kid like that shouldn't get a job yet. He was too young. Or... was he? He looked to be about 16. Shouldn't he be worried about school and not work? Then he heard his cousin volunteer himself to work. "Oh?" He stroked his chin and looked at his cousin thoughtfully. "Tell you what, I can get you a job where I work. That way I can manage your hours since yours truly is the most recent manager, no need to congratulate me, but thank you for the applause, and that way you won't have to work hours that are too confusing. I'm sure we can work around your schedule."
"But I want to work too!" Satoshi spoke up, clearly offended at the decline of him getting a job. If he was going to grow up, didn't he have to get a job? Wasn't that part of the whole deal?
Hayato blinked at the kid, momentarily surprised by his outburst. "Well uh... well you need to focus on school."
Satoshi gave him a funny look, "Why do I have to focus on school? I haven't been to school in hundreds of years."
"Well, I'm sure it wasn't that long..." Hayato laughed, amused at the exaggeration but worried that he had a truant on his hands.
"It was." The boy replied stubbornly. "I know how long I've been out of school. School was boring."

Kyo really was surprised. To hear his cousin made manager. Well, that was good. And convenient. At least he didn't have to worry about the hours now. He knew it might be a long process to actually get a job. There would be applications, and interviews. And then he wasn't sure when he would be put to work. Sometimes the jobs available would be during school hours, and he really couldn't miss any school. He didn't need his grades lowering.
The mention of Satoshi not going to school, for a very long time, caused Kyo ti frown a bit. Not because he hadn't been there for so long. But because he didn't know if his cousin should know the truth. That this boy was much older then he looked. But it was his looks that would have him back in school, as well as not working. Which made him wonder. What should Satoshi do in the meanwhile. Should he be sent to school. He wasn't so sure how that worked. Most people forgot the simple things over summer vacation. He couldn't imagine what the boy would remember after hundreds of years.
"Let's not talk about school right now," He needed to talk to Satoshi in private. "When do I start working?" He figured the sooner the better.

"Uh, well..." Unsure of what to think of the boy and his declarations, Hayato turned to Kyo. "I suppose you can start working after the weekend. Don't you have a few things to do with your friends?"
Being ignored irritated Satoshi, but he had the feeling that he'd be talked to soon enough. He was about to burst in with another demand when a cat wormed it's way into his lap, settled down, and started to pur. Instantly in love, Satoshi stroked the spotted animal. "Oh wow, you're a cat. I like cats."

After the weekend, that would work. Kyo wasn't exactly looking forward to doing more things, but he would do what he had to. It was this, or he couldn't have Satoshi here, and he just wasn't going to get rid of the boy. Briefly, he spared a glance his way, wondering what the boy was thinking, that was when he noted it seemed the cat had found its way to Satoshi, and the boy seemed to take a liking to it, that was good.
"Do I?" It seemed all that happened had made him quite forgetful. Now that it was brought back up, he recalled something. "Actually, I believe I do." He recalled he did have this little meeting with some friends happening later. Should he cancel? He didn't like setting up something, only to have to cancel it out of the blue. But it wasn't like he could just bring Satoshi along, he didn't like the general idea of leaving him alone.
"I might have to leave him here with you?" Although his cousin was a rather...unique character a times, he did trust him to watch over Satoshi in a serious manner, if it came down to that.

Hayato waved his hand, leaning on the back of the couch again. "I don't mind. He's an interesting character. How hard could it be to watch over a boy? I did have to watch you when you were younger." He winked at his cousin; while he had watched over Kyo when the boy was younger, he had a feeling that this one, Satoshi, was going to much more interesting than Kyo. The boy looked intelligent, although perhaps not in the same way that most kids were when his age, and he also looked as if he was ready for trouble. Trouble was always fun to have around.
Hearing that Kyo had a meeting with friends, Satoshi suddenly brightened and looked up. "I'll go with you! I don't want to stay here."
"Out into that storm?" Hayato asked, amused. "I don't think you'd like to be soaking wet in a new place with thunder all around."
Satoshi set his jaw. "I'm not scared of thunder."

Kyo couldn't begin to explain how relieved he was his cousin was willing to watch over the boy. Sure, he was technically older, with the story he gave him, but in the end he looked like a kid, and still acted like one. There was no way he would have just been able to leave him by himself. Even considering doing that made him feel very irresponsible, that was the feeling plain and simple.
"Yeah, you did." He seemed to confirm the facts, his cousin did watch over him. "Thanks," He felt he could say that much, he felt he owed his cousin here, but wasn't about to say that. It was like an unsaid thing, he'd do something to pay him pack, if he saw the chance arrive.
"I doubt you'd want to go but there," He had heard what Satoshi said, then heard what his cousin said, followed by what seemed like a very determined boy. "There could be lots of lightning, and thunder." It wasn't like he missed how Satoshi was moments ago.
"Anyways, I really need to get going." He just needed to pay a trip to his room, get a few things, and then he'd be off.
