Robots are great but if they become self aware then your screwed. then you have to go all terminator style and make your own future, and make an endless cycle.
I favor making a substance that leeches all available minerals from the ground. Spreading at a geometric Rate that will in about a century cover the planet. *it case your wondering I would call it

Oh then theres building an army of super soldiers and force my will on to the world then once everyone is under my control start making the world better, by putting a ton of resources into finding cures for cancer and aids, then once thats gets going start heading out into space to colonize other planets. Finally set up a council that will be of elected officials from the seven continents. that would rule for a set period of time then step down and new officials would be elected in.
