Chale didn't seem to share the same sense of humour as his smaller amigo and, instead, tucked his thumbs into his sash like you would a hand to pockets.

"That is what fists are for." He rolled his eyes, the statement seeming quite painfully obvious.

"Perhaps your fists, sir. My hands are skilled tools! I've unlocked some of the best locks in the world! Stolen away into the royalty's palace! Slipped in and out of even the tightest of locked establishments! Why, I can steal the bloomers right off a la-" He paused from his questionable pontificating session to stare ahead of them.

There ahead of them, just pass the path and surrounded by moss and strangely cropped rocks was a cave, dark, huge, and mossy, and defiantly not somewhere anyone in their right mind would be caught sleeping in.

He was awefully tempted to smack the smaller man upside the head when, as if without having to ask, he fell silent. Chale would have been thankful too if it wasn't such an odd occurance that he felt inclined to be sightly worried.

"What? Why the silence?"

Looking up from by his shoulder to where Simon's gaze was directed he suddenly realised just why he'd shut his trap so quickly.

"That is a big cave..."

Simon stared up at it with all the sadistic wonder of a five year old looking into a butcher shop and wondering what all must go on inside.

"My.... my sense of adventure says yes.... but my good sense says no... I'm going to go with the later." He said distantly, turning to the side and making for the next clearest trail, posthaste.

It was rare that Chale's sense of adventure said a flat out no and the discovery of such an ominous cave only served as to re-kindle his sense of exploration for the day.

"What? Are you scared of a little cave?" Just because he was bigger didn't make the cave and smaller, mind you.

"We might not find another cave on this island!"

"Are you... seriously thinking of going in there?!" He gawked, turning to his companion, mouth agape in disbelief. "God knows whats in there! You fool, do you have any idea what devils and creatures could inhabit a land such as this?!"

He waved his arms and spun around a few times in panic to make a point, in case any of his words had been lost in translation.

Funnily enough, the actions did help, but did nothing to sway Chale's decision.

"It's probably small frogs and buggy-eyed...bugs." He looped his finger an thumb together, placing them over his eyes. "Nothing to be scared of!"

"There...could be treasures?" He doubted it. But if it meant that there was a chance his partner would follow he would blab out anything.

He stopped in his tracks, the prospect of treasure nothing to laugh at in his line of work, despite how.... bleak.... their chances of coming away from this one particular excursion might be; he found himself slowly retracing his steps to rejoin Chale at his side.

"...You think so?" He looked up, pondering this and weighing the odds of anyone actually being dumb brave enough to stash something in a cave like this.

"It makes sense..." Chale thought aloud, scratching the rough stubble of his unshaven chin. "A big cave on far away island? This is perfect place to hide treasures."

The more he thought about it, the more he realised that it really was an ideal place to stow away copious amounts of treasure. It was large, dank, foreboding; no man in his right mind would dare to venture in.

Which is exactly why Chale was intent on doing just the opposite.

"If something attacks me in there, I expect you to pry it off me, understand? Otherwise I'm never assisting you with English grammar again!" He shook a finger up at him testily, a hint of humor in his smirk. "But no really, if I die, I'm blaming you."

And with that he took his first few creeping steps into the large mossy cave.

"If you die, you won't be live to blame me." Chale retorted, his voice echoing off the cave walls as soon as they entered.

It was hard to tell how far the cave went in for as a large, seemingly endless black greeted their eyes. The pair walked blindly in, not knowing what awated ahead of them.

Chale took a quick glance behind them, the light from outside piercingly brght to look at.

"Would be much easier if we were having torch."
