A loud tapping shot through Sora's dreams and, after a moment, his eyes blinked open reluctantly. He'd been having an extremely strange dream, even by his standards; the angry voice of a girl had been following him around, saying things like, "Jump, damn it! Will you just jump? I swear, if you make me play through this one more time..." etc. Sora hadn't quite known what to make of it, and wasn't sure if he was glad that the dream was over or not.
The tapping came again, somehow managing to sound impatient. Sora got groggily to his feet. "Okay, okay," he mumbled, walking to the door and rubbing some sleep from his eyes. He pulled it open to reveal a broom with two hands, one of which was poised to knock again. The other was holding what looked like a bit of paper. Sora smiled at the broom. "Hello! Is that for me?" he asked, indicating the paper. The broom answered by handing it to him and swaggering off down the hall, it's straw bristles divided into two thick legs. Sora watched it go, amused, then looked down at the note.
As he read it, all traces of amusement left his face. When he'd finished, he groaned. "Not again! Why does he do that?" He stepped all the way out of his room, shut the door behind him and started banging on Riku's. "Riku? Are you there?"

((Lol. Um anyways I forgot to mention in the rules previously, if anyone ever really wanted or needed to drop out, just make sure you tell me at least and then we can work something out so your character makes a smooth transition out of the RP. Just FYI, though I hope it never comes to that smile ))
A lot of strange things happened to Akiko that night. But as her troubles aren't terribly relevant at the moment, I'll just give a brief summary.
Akiko awoke in a building. A very familiar building. A mouse in the room, one she recognized to be King Mickey.
Of course she was bewildered. But this is the quick version of the story. So I'll just say that the King explained to her that her world was being attacked, that all the princesses of heart (or angels, as she knew them) were trying to bide them time, and that the native heartless (or demons, intangible and invisible to a human) had been importing heartless to destroy the world, since the demons were only good for manipulating.
Akiko had been brought there because, with the King's latest technology, quite a few people had actually been found that seemed likely to be worthy of a keyblade. And that help, along with the knowledge of both Earth and the hidden world beyond, would prove invaluable in the search of the keyblade.
However, no keyblade appeared for Akiko. But she said she would help anyway. And so it began.
Basically, the apocalypse had finally come. Happy 16th Birthday, indeed.

Kairi groggily opened her eyes to the sound of banging. She grew more awake as the banging continued. She quickly got dressed and rushed out to see Sora banging on Riku's door. "Sora what's going on? Riku just got back last night. Does he really need to be woken up so early?"

By way of answer, Sora handed Kairi the note. "Donald's going to throw a fit," he sighed. "I don't understand why The King always does this. Not that he doesn't always have an excellent reason," he added hastily, "But it would be nice if he waited for us just once so we don't have to spend so much time trying to track him down."

"Donald can't come," Riku cut in, opening his door. As was becoming increasingly expected, he looked like he'd gotten little or no sleep, for the very good reason that he'd gotten little or no sleep. He stepped out of his room, shutting the door behind him and looking seriously at Sora, who he expected to put up the most fuss. "Neither can Goofy."

Sora's eyes widened, not with surprise at his friend's sudden appearance, but with outrage. "What?!" He stared at Riku for a few seconds, at a complete loss. Finally he seemed to remember how to use his mouth. "Why the hell not? I'll have you know that they've pulled me out of more bad situations than pretty much anyone! If anyone should be staying behind it's you! Look at you! How long has it been since you got a decent night's sleep?"

Riku raised his eyebrows. "Sora, think about it. Do you remember what Earth is supposed to be like? If Donald or Goofy showed up, there would be mass panic. They don't have things like magic or talking ducks there; it just doesn't happen. That's probably one of the reasons why the heartless showing up there is such a problem. They won't believe what their eyes are telling them." He pointedly ignored the bit about his not sleeping well. It was under control.

Kairi handed the note back. "I'm sure the king has his reasons. Let's just try and get this figured out as soon as possible. Regardless of who can come with us, Earth is still being attacked by heartless which means people are in danger. Isn't protecting them a little more important than feuding?" She asked trying to make sure a huge argument didn't break out.

Sora sent a pointed glare in Riku's direction. "Yes. I'll go find Donald and Goofy so we can get out of here." He spun around and started off in the direction of Donald's room, trying not to think too much about what Riku had said; he was afraid it would make sense, and he wasn't leaving them behind. Period.

Kairi watched him go and let out a silent sigh. She knew that Sora had gotten really close to Donald and Goofy, but what Riku had said did seem to make sense. They didn't want to cause any problems in the new world, but losing two friends and helping hands might hurt them.

Riku watched Sora go, his green eyes completely unreadable, then turned to Kairi. "I guess I'll go get a gummi ship up and running," he stated calmly, "Are you ready to go? I'm still packed from Wonderland."

Riku raised his eyebrows in slight surprise that she'd remembered, then smiled. "Yes. I couldn't sleep, so I went and woke Donald up shortly after you went to bed." The smile widened. "He wasn't exactly happy, but he healed it." He sobered quickly, his eyes clouding over with some dark thought. After a few moments, he spoke, his voice quiet. "Kairi, what if I were to tell you-" He broke off and shook his head slightly.

He looked back into her face for a few intense moments, then shook his head again; suddenly he seemed terribly tired. "Sora's right, that's all. Not about Donald and Goofy, but he'll figure that out on his own the hard way. He's right about the fact that I shouldn't be going. Do you want to know how I got hurt?" He looked disgusted with himself. "I got stabbed by one of those cards the Queen keeps around her." This wasn't quite what he had been preparing to say when he'd cut himself off, but that wasn't something he could talk about without feeling like things were spinning out of his control again. He'd told the King; it had seemed that serious, and the look on the other's face had confirmed his suspicions. Besides, Kairi already had enough to worry about.
