Adoption is not the solution to abortion. The difference between both are that the mother who has an abortion doesn't want to be a mother and in addition doesn't want to give birth.
Adoption is not the option because I think you're not aknowlegding that some women don't want to have to go through the pain of pregnancy and giving birth only to have their child given to strangers for ever. stare

Also, what about the people that want to abort and adopt? They want children but do not want to be pregnant. It wouldn't make any sense to say "well don't abort, give it up for adoption" because where would the sense be in putting it up for adoption and then adopting it back again (unless it was a case of postponing parenthood)?

Some what to have the babies but can't care for it so it's an option for them. Every woman is different and makes different choices.

While I agree that most people want children, most people who want children would rather have their own than adopt. There are many kids who need to be adopted, but so many selfish people would much rather have their own.

Mysterytrip While I agree that most people want children, most people who want children would rather have their own than adopt. There are many kids who need to be adopted, but so many selfish people would much rather have their own. I personally think abortion just because you don't want to be pregnant is also selfish but the world is full of selfish people that only think of themselfs. At least there are still families that are willing to adoption and I know alot of people (young babies, older kids, healthy, non-healthy, different races,ect...) and most seem happy. But they also make it hard for people to adopt and is a long procees. Anyways we all have different options and beliefs so I think think adoption is a option for anyone, at least for the woman you don't want to abort. None of those options are going to be easy but at least that is a option.

As I read some of these posts I got this feeling that many of you had not read the first post in its entirity. Which was a GREAT post, many claps to you, nethilia. But... Nethilia And the Chinese don't force abortions. I seriously doubt that they round up every woman who is pregnant and haul her off for systematic abortion. It is in fact law in China that women must get their tubes tied after they have 1 child. But no, it isnt abortion, there isnt any foetus-removing involved, Diadema.

How does adoption help the woman who doesn't want to be pregnant or give birth? You have yet to say how.

To me I see abortion as murder and it's still an option, they can still choose to give birth even if they don't want to be pregnant, not every woman that doesn't what a baby or pregnancy choose to abort it. As I said every woman is different and make different choices, read the thing above so I don't have to keep repeting myself.

That's not what I'm asking. Not one pro-lifer has answered this question.
How does carrying a pregnancy to term, giving birth, then handing the kid over to someone else help the woman who DOES NOT want to remain pregnant?
