Dace frowned once Ecila's back was turned but Cherry gave him a smile and hurried after the queen. Dace shrugged turned the other direction.
I wonder if I can find an inn in such a small town... He wondered.
Her highness would probably prefer a bed to camping...

"Your Greatness," Cherry said with a smile. Oh yes, she had been taught well on how to talk to Ecila.
"Alice's soldiers have spread in number and power. There won't be much place left to hide. I really think we should get you to one of the near-by Kingdoms...perhaps even across the Great Divide if possible." She was careful to keep her tone respectful so as to not provoke her queen.

Ecila nodded, crossing her arms, her posture that she used when thinking. "You may be right, Cherry, in that we should go to nearby kingdoms, but it will not be to hide. We will go and attempt to gather sympathy amongst the people, and try to gain allies amongst the nobility," She frowned. "Though I am not sure how successful we will be with the nobles. As it is, I have no real control in Hearts, even though I have it's power. It will be difficult to gain an alliance with them with nothing but promises of great rewards when I take back the throne."

Jack was walking very quickly-or was it running slowly?-because the rain was suddenly coming down in torrents. It was not unheard of for the weather to change suddenly in the Diamond Mountain Region, but it was strange that the weather was so severe. He had to get to the Dwarven Train. He had only brought enough money to keep him going long enough to find his... relatives, and then he would reveal himself and it would bring him safety.
So he hoped.

Rose turned her head away. She didn't like when he got mad at her. He was like a father to her in a very strange way. "Your lucky I'm one of the few that don't consider you a dingy sewer rat." She mumbled under her breath.
"What?!? What was that you said? Rat!? I dare say I am nothing of the sort!" Lawrence turned. "Sewer rat, who ever would have though ME a sewer rat. I am obviously a mouse. M . O . U . S . E . I'm not all stinky. I'm quite clean." He continued with his little lecture on how he was a mouse and not a rat and went on to explain the very LARGE difference between the two. Rose stopped him and informed him that only the most unintelligent of souls would not know that he is a mouse. The trees began to space themselves more apart as they road on. Soon they found themselves an a relatively used road and heading toward a small town that looked damaged.

Cherry nodded wih every suggestion Ecila made.
"But the Red Kingdom...Surely they would protect you. The Red Regent is you kin, no? But the White Kingdom..." Cherry's voice trailed off in thought.
"I've heard many different rumors. I don't know what to believe, except for one thing. The princess of the White Kingdom is Snowe White. Everything I've heard about her...surely she would help us! And the White Kingdom's Aura magic that she posseses, would greatly benefit you in this strange battle that's been weaving..." She seemed to be going off on many tangents now when suddenly she jumped and closed her mouth. Her cheeks were red. Cherry had a habit of talking way to much.

Ecile looked at her and frowned. "Did I tell you to stop talking? I need all the information I can get. You are not here as just muscle, Cherry. You and Dace's views as fighters and strategists can be invaluable. I am only a new ruler, I'd like all the advice you can give."

Rose poked her head out of the other window. "Oh, it does look as if the damage had been caused recently." Ruby looked at the map that sat on a small table in-front of her seat. There was a road that lead around the town and would avoid all danger. "Fredrick, would you be so kind as to meet me at on the other side of town at this spot?" The map popped through the window that allowed the passengers to speak to the drivers and on it was a highlighted road with a circle showing the place that they are intended to meet up.
"Oh I do believe I'll be able to go through there in time to meet you for tea."
"Thank you very much Fredrick. And you will be safely unrecognizable while going down the road." Rose popped her head back in and smiled but was greeted by a glaring face.
"I see you intend to leave me in the carriage." Lawrence complained.
"Oh Lawrence please try to be understanding. If I go into town with you it would be hard to make you in the form of a child, cover your footprints, hide the carriage, and alter my appearance. I know I am able to do it but I don't want to be entering a town that has recently been damaged without all of my focus on what's going on around me. And you know I will always be able to be reached by you." Her face was reassuring and put Lawrence at ease.
"Well. . . If you must. . . Now hurry and change because were coming to your drop off." He turned his head. They both felt very uneasy about it, without each other it felt as if their was something missing all the time. But they both knew that their safety required their separation.

"Yes your highness!" Cherry grinned.
"So as I was saying, this woman Snowe White...She's called the People's Princess by her subjects. But I also heard she follows the orders of her father. We'd probably be better off asking the king. Anyway, the other kingdoms also seem to be on our side for now...Atleast...Dace said that they aren't serving your sister. Have you heard she's started calling herself Empress Alice?"

"Two rooms then?" The clerk at the small inn asked.
"Yes." Dace nodded.

Ruby stepped out of the carriage wearing a commoners dress of a dark reddish-brown with a cloak that wrapped around her shoulders. Lawrence looked at her wearily and nodded, "We'll see you on the other side" He smiled while she stepped back and closed the door. The road wasn't long so she entered the town quickly without trouble. The homes on her sides were very welcoming and quant. It didn't seem like the kind of place to fester trouble. People sat in windows enjoying tea from their kitchens while others scurried the streets picking up and moving people. It was quite a strange sight watching a man being pulled across the ground and laid down by the walk way, then picked up again and set down somewhere else. She walked along the road and once helped to carry a bloodied man to a seat and set him down. Afterwards it reminded her of moving large dolls since most of the men were dead. She entered a shop and sat down gracefully. There was a man sitting beside her in a very nice attire something you would probably see in the 18'th century. Blue vest with gold trimming and the boots with gold buckles. "Sir, do you know what happened here?" She asked him.

Jack sat on the Dwarf Train behind a couple of Dwarfs... Big surprise. They were so informative. He was taking notes in a metal-bound notebook with designs on it. He needed all the information he could get on the affairs of things around his kingdom if he wanted to be an effective ruler.
The one dwarf who had red hair was talking about the state of the Kingdom of Heart's Civil War was having on the trade in minerals they had going.
"So Dave down there tells me that they've stopped importing their Heart Stones?"
The second one with black hair nodded. "They have to. It was one of the first places Alice tried to get to, so the Cheshire Magician used a spell to block it until Ecila comes back."
"If that ever happens."
"You Negative Nancy."
Jack quickly wrote down all they had said. Then a voice magically filled the air. "Next stop, the Royal Spade Train Station. Please disembark."
Jack sighed. From there on out, he would have to walk. He wasn't looking forward to it.

As Dace walked boredly through the town he glanced around and twirled the room keys round his fingers.
"The town goes by as if no disaster had befallen them at all. It seems so strange...to walk in streets that turn so blindly away from the blood stains on the ground..." Dace muttered to himself as he walked. It was true that some were cleaning up after her highness' "royal escapade of violence", but others meerly walked on as if it had not occured at all.
"Strange indeed..." He muttered.

The gentleman turned to face her. He had a scruffy mustache that poked out when he spoke and then returned to it's groomed manner when he wasn't speaking. "Well madam, I believe that there was a brawl in the town center this afternoon. It was quite a ruckus and quite unnecessary. We were enjoying our meal at home, Cleilia and I, when all of it started. Couldn't even eat without having some explosion. The blasted soldiers are scattered around here, littered on the streets. I heard William telling someone that only two people fought them off. But he heard if from Twindy and she is not equipped with the best eye sight. It's all in the genes you know. Quite unlike me, I've been blessed . . . . . . . " He continued to trail on about his eye sight and the people of town. He was quite a friendly man but he would probably have more luck entertaining himself than a guest. "Thank you sir for you time. But I must be going now." They both stood and bowed and then she departed while he turned around on his chair and ordered ham and eggs. Amazingly when she stepped outside there was a group of men dressed in green uniforms packing the bodies into a cart. The streets were being cleaned by them and the flowers on the windows of the shops watered. They were apparently well respected because if any passed a civilian they would bow and thank them. All of the mens tunics were spotless, even the ones dealing with the bodies. One of them passed her and waved happily while she bowed.

Ecila sniffed primly and straightened her shoulders. "My sister is no more an empress than... than my old pet frog named Puddleglum. Actually, Puddleglum had more of chance of becoming a real ruler than my sister has ever had." Ecila sat down on a log and crossed her arms in an angry fashion. "She didn't even have the good sense to stay out of the Black Magic stuff. The idiot."

She walked down the street watching as she went for clues about what went on. She did know of some battle between the princess's of this kingdom but she had no idea that there would be fighting here. She wasn't very well informed about the cause of this. There was something lurking in the back of her head telling her it was just a sisterly love and hate relationship. It's not uncommon to have things like this over a simple matter in the countries of Wonderland.
