It didn't take Kalan too long, thankfully, to find his way back to his temporary quarters, though he had had to pause before he started off, to take a few steadying breaths.
What had he just agreed to..?
His heart was racing, he was intensely nervous now, what should he expect? Many similar questions buzzed around the young drows head as he let himself into the comforting confines of the comfortable green tent. He gave the bowl of water and the soft towels a mildly appreciative look, at least he would have time to try and think of something. At least he hoped he could..
Securing the entrance to his quarters he made quick work of the buckles and the rest of his clothing as he stripped down entirely to thoroughly cleanse himself, he shivered on reflection as to how long it had been since he had had the chance to give himself a proper scrub down. It wasn't just that he had been busy with raids recently, there were places provided for them to wash down if they so wished, though they were a far cry from the privacy he was enjoying at the moment.. But rather a particular person who was generally hell-bent on pestering, embarrassing and making things more than a little difficult for him, no matter what they did.. Shi'n, his childhood friend.
It was so wonderfully quiet as he washed, Kalan couldn't help but wonder if his friend was nearby and plotting, though as he managed to complete his rituals without a hitch it was wonderfully clear that he wasn't.

It was then that Kalan had realised his next predicament which brought the butterflies straight back to his stomach. He didn't have anything else to wear.. Just what he had worn down, not even a different shirt or pair of trousers to sleep in.. Which wasn't surprising considering his preferred sleeping habits.
He was sure that Haeldril would have made an effort, he seemed the type to, but when it boiled down to it, he was just going to have to make do. He couldn't change what he didn't have, though he did have a very brief dig through the contents of his satchel but all he was met with were several hard eggs. No matter!
With a fairly resigned little sign he set about laying his clothes out and set about wiping them over carefully with a damp cloth, just enough to freshen them up slightly and remove any clinging dust and small flecks of dirt from his journey down here and around the camp. It just about did the trick and besides.. He didn't want to get to Haeldrils tent to soon.. That would make him look all too.. Or maybe he should..What if he should go a little sooner?
Nervously nibbling at his lip and thumb, the young drow paced back and forth across his tent in the buff, letting the fractionally damp clothes dry off as he did so, the butterflies in his stomach only worsening. It felt like a bat had climbed in there and was causing general chaos.
It came to a point where he couldn't put it off any longer. His mind had remained blissfully blank with what to do with himself once he got there, all he could think about, even as he pulled on his clothes, was the blue haired drow that was waiting there for him to arrive. He tried not to think about his hands, the way his fingers had felt while he smoothed down his half shirt and trousers. He decided against donning the leather armour and furs that would normally accompany his attire. They wouldn't be necessary or so he hoped and soon he found himself fumbling his way out of the green tent and making the short trip to Haeldrils far larger living quarters.
It may only have been a short trip but along the way that one bat that had turned up in his stomach had multiplied, they'd eaten all the butterflies and there was evidently a drider well on the way to eating those bats, os so it felt as he hesitantly reached out to touch the canvases and let himself inside.
He smiled nervously, "Haeldril.." He greeted the other drow, trying to keep the waver out of his voice. The moment he laid his eyes on the older male.. He regretted it. He was the epitome of handsome, and he just couldn't tear his eyes away from him. Well he could, but it was going to be a struggle.
He struggled even more when he realised that he had come in and just.. Well, stopped!
Kalan could feel the heat rising to his face already as he rushed to think of something to say to fill the ever increasing gap, "That um.. It's quite a spread!" He tried, lamely then wondered, fairly horrified how Haeldril had taken that comment. He was still staring straight at him as opposed to the table that he had briefly glanced over.. It had looked pretty laden, truth be told.

The breath he was holding had caught in his throat, and was suddenly expelled all at once at the sight of Kalan. Hael was left literally breathless. The waver in the youth's voice went to Hael's stomach like a hand and squeezed. For a moment he feared he would vomit from nervousness, but Kalan's soft stare, focused on him even while he complimented the food, steading his resolve, and Hael smiled.
"Indeed. Andrika outdid herself again. Please, sit." He gestured to the mountain of pillows which mirrored his own, but on the side of the table closest to the door. His eyes stayed on Kalan, however, watching his movement to the table with a reserved hunger. He'd noticed that the youth was dressed differently; with a pang he realized it was simply without his armor and furs. He made a mental note to ask Andrika to find more clothes in the surface raider's size. Or simply let him go without... Stifling a laugh at his own inner voice's lechery, Hael flopped rather ungracefully into the mound of downy pillows, stretching his legs out, considering whether his stomach would settle enough for him to eat. HE decided to play it safe for the moment.
"I uh, wanted to thank you for joining me, I wasn't sure if you felt up to it."
He chewed his lip and smiled bashfully, somehow seeming charming despite his nervousness.
"I don't usually entertain..." Hael's cheeks coloured slightly as he blushed, "but I thought it appropriate..."
To at least buy you dinner beforehand. his inner voice finished for him. A muscle in his cheek twitched as he barely contained his laughter. He felt giddy, sitting across from the youth, and yet slowly he was relaxing.
"I realized that despite our new relationship...uh...in business of course! We know nothing of one another. In my time, I have realized the importance of knowing just who you are connected to. However, I understand if you are unwilling to share without first knowing something about me."
Hael took a deep, deep breath. This was where things got risky, and words had to be chosen carefully. He found he could not lie to the drow; something strange for a male such as himself, and so his usual story was right out. But omission wasn't really a lie.....
"As you have most likely surmised by now, I have no formal House to call my own. This Clann is my family, though I do have one brother by blood. The rest of my family perished when I was very young. "
His tone was intentionally kept light, but the sharing of this tale felt intimate, as if the table did not seperate the two. This choice had been a conscious one; Hael feared losing control should they sit too close. Already thoughts of what he would do to Kalan should they have sat closer, should he had been able to simply reach out, and touch him...
With widening eyes, Hael cleared his throat, attempting to be nonchalant about moving a pillow into his lap.
"So, ah..." He grinned a little to widely and squirmed. " Please feel no pressure to tell me about yourself, but I am interested to hear whatever you would share."
He quickly began to pile a plate with food, struggling to take the attention off of himself long enough to regain his composure.

As nervous as he was, Kalan hoped in vain that he didn't look too flustered outwardly, despite his earlier comment as, with a little bow of his head in thanks, he moved at last towards the smaller mountain of pillows and cushions that had been provided for his to sit on. He was endlessly greatful for the oppertunity to be off his feet again, he hadn't been entirely sore how long he would have been able to stay on them for, the whole affair at the camp made him feel.. Well, a little light headed at times, truth be told. Not all the reasons bad, however, a small voice at the back of his head piped up. He remained unsure as to whether he appreciated the internal commentary of his life and feelings.
He looked up across the table a little hesitantly yet again to his Host as he spoke, inwardly getting somewhat irked at his behaviour. Since when he he started to second-guess each of his own movements and wonder at whether it was such a good idea, he was going to wind up losing what respect he had earned as a warrior, making quite decisions and following through with confidence! He certainly didn't want to wind up like those pansy mages.
But yet again when push came to shove, there was just something about the male sitting opposite him that made his resolve and confidence crumble little by little. Maybe it was the other's seemingly confident and smug appearance, though just occasionally he could have sworn that he could see signs that the other drow was as.. Unsure as he himself was.. It was hard to tell, really.
He knew he was smiling nervously, but he did it anyway, it's not like he had a vast audience, "I'll admit that I was a little unsure myself when you invited me! It's.. Been a long journey among.. Well, among other things!" Annoyingly he could just feel a slight warmth spread across his cheeks as he recalled what those.. Other things had been..
"Maybe we should be drinking to new business and to.." He paused for a moment, Very pleasant company..? "Well, newfound friendship..?" He finished slowly with an ever so slightly strained expression, he knew it was probably going somewhat further and deeper than friendship.
He was relieved when Hael started talking again, taking the oppertunity to quell his nerves with a welcoming mouthful of what he hoped was something with a lot of alcohol in it. He really hadn't been thinking today, the drink wasn't going to be kind to his empty belly, but at least it would stop his nervous rambling and help him to meet the older males cool eyes.
He was almost glad that he had done, listening to what he felt was a very much abridged version of Hael's past. He was a little lost as to what to do to such a seemingly honest admission from the older drow, certainly to what much have been a traumatic past. He inclined his head, daring to observe Hael with his ruby eyes through his eyelashes for a moment,
"I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Haeldril. In the future perhaps you could re-build a new family clan to.. To try and fill the void." He gave Hael a sincere little look, "I hope I'm not speaking out of line." He added, a tiny hint of nervousness creeping back into his tone, the alcohol taking the edge off his inhibitions at last. He was quite greatful!
"Sadly," he started again, with a small pause, "My tale has little of interest contained within, so far.. My family is from the West-Dark, as far as I am aware. We are a low-ranking house, and as such my mother has been scheming away fruitlessly to lay claim to a higher position.. I have no other siblings by my father, but a wealth of half brothers and a few highly regarded half-sister's." He gave a small shrug as well as a slightly more confident smile, tucking one leg over the other as he stretched them out under the table, "I try to stay away from home, honestly. I regard the rest of the Underdark to be a lot safer that staying with those power-hungry women ready to bend or break anyone to their will to reach their means to an end. As you're aware I frequent the surface and occasionally I do other jobs underground.. That's.. Really all there is too me I'm afraid," He twisted a few strands of hair between his fingers for a moment a little bashfully before reaching up and tugging his goggles down so they hung around his neck, "I haven't got enough years under my belt yet to be of a real interest to anyone in particular."

Hael took a few deep breaths through his nose, calming himself considerably as he listened to Kalan, picking at the grilled rothe meat he'd chosen from the table, not really interested in the food, but knowing he'd need to eat something to truly enjoy the wine he'd had brought from the surface for their dinner. His eyes were on the other male, actually managing to pull his attention away from the youth's moderatly revealing clothing, and focusing on his face...which lead to him fixating on his lips. Hael blushed, this calming down thing is not working so well..., and looked away at his plate for a moment. For some reason, he did not want Kalan to see the fire in his eyes at the mention of priestess sisters; it was all too tempting to conjure up ideas of vengence on them for any imagined pains they caused to the male sitting across from him. He felt instantly closer to Kalan- in an emotional sense. Pangs from his own childhood made empathy bubble to the surface, and when he spoke again, it dripped from his voice.
"I appreciate you telling me all about your family."
Hael looked up again, his smile brilliant, hoping it had not come across as pity. If his eyes seemed slightly haunted, he covered it be taking a long draught of wine.
"But please, eat, drink- I've had Andrika set the table with both juices and wines, I wasn't sure which you preferred."
He gestured to the platter of food.
"Besides, I can't eat all of this myself, try as I might."
He laughed heartily, reaching forward to place his glass on the table, somehow managing to bump his plate, which bumped the bottle of wine, which tipped and spilled across the table. Hael watched in social horror as the liquid splashed across the high gloss wood, dribbling over onto Kalan's side of the table, and onto the rug. Hael sprang to his feet, grabbing a cloth from its place on the side table, and rushing to clean it as quickly as possible, only after he had soaked all he could from the expensive, imported rug, did he look up and realize that he'd thoughtlessly kneeled between Kalan's legs. Hael sputtered, holding the dripping rag in one hand, looking up at the youth with wide eyes. Kalan seemed to match Hael's expression of surprise with one of his own. Later, it was difficult to recall who had kissed who. Things quickly went fuzzy as Hael leaned forward, pushing the other male back onto the pillows, kissing him with passion he hadn't known he'd possessed. Kalan seemed to melt into his mouth.
___________________________________________________

Hael yawned and snuggled closer into the curled, nude form of Kalan, nuzzling the youth's shoulder with a contented purr. He felt altogether natural, lying here with the sated and contented male, the mountain of pillows serving as their impromptu bed. One arm was draped casually, possesively over Kalan's hip, hand splayed over his abs, holding him tight to Haeldril's stomach. He kissed along the smaller male's neck, then sighed, relaxing completely. His voice was husky and almost meek as he propped his chin on Kalan's shoulder, and said simply:
"Stay with me."

He didn't recall, in hindsight, exactly how he had come to find himself in such a.. Prone.. Position on the cushions, but Kalan had come to the conclusion that it wasn't such a bad thing after all. From what he did manage to dredge up from his strangely foggy memory was that it had all started roughly when Hael or himself had knocked over the bottle of wine that he had nervously been enjoying with his host, the host who now appeared to be rather contentedly curled against his back purring like a very large feline indeed. He knew, just somehow that it must have been Haeldril that had started this off, it had been the older drow that had kissed him the first time in the tents. He wasn't complaining really!
That kiss.. There had been things that he had wanted to say, a fractionally witty remark about the amount of food that he was sure the Haeldril could have in fact consumed, a kind word in return for the softer expression he had seen when he had told him about his home.
There would be time for that later, surely.
He smiled gently, their recent activities had done more than the wine could ever have managed! He stretched out ever so slightly, pressing himself back against Haeldril all the more with a content little noise.
"Hmm.. I have no intention of moving just yet, Hael.." He replied, a soft purr creeping into his voice through his sentence as he relished the gentle kisses against his neck.
He fidgeted just a little in the older males firm embrace, rolling to face him and press a small kiss in return first to Haeldrils collarbone and then to hios chin.
"Staying sounds just fine for now."

~

Across from the other side of the table, the two were met with a low humored chuckle. There was no malicious intent to the voice, truly it was just evidently incredibly amused.
"Well now isn't that just sweet! Explicit, certainly, but all the same. Sweet!"
Vic'zar sat there across from them, picking over the food that his brother had left on his plate, looking for the world like he had been there all along. It was hard to say when it was that he could have entered the tent. He had always had this strange knack for choosing the worst possible moment, something that was rather proud of. He was in fairness, he had been told once by a rather busty drowess and a friend of hers, that he must just listen at the door and pick his moment carefully.
It was all true, but he wasn't going to admit that.
"So I heard that you wanted to see me, Hael!" He leant forward, resting an elbow on the table, "I assumed it was something about a critter you'd come across, I must be mistaken! You must just really want to share this lovely little creature with me? I'm right, huh? I must be!" He grinned, an amused little glint to his eye as his dragon happily curled across his shoulders, uninterested in the contents of the table for now.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 15, 2008 5:23 pm

The lazy, contented feeling steeping in Hael's supine form seemed to evaporate the moment he registered the speaker's voice. He growled low in his throat; the base, predatorial snarl of an animal. For a few seconds he was unwilling to move, contemplating ignoring Vic'zar, hoping against hope that the demon who took the form of his brother would disappear. No such luck. Hael sighed, then jerked up almost violently, though he was careful not to disturb Kalan's prone form. He brushed the flyaway strands of azure behind his ears, glaring across the table at where his brother sat in languid repose, his amused expression irritating Hael all the more.
"I did want to see you, but Paetar received no response, so I assumed you would be meeting us in Lurth Duir. You do have knack for arriving at the worst possible time. I had hoped you would have grown out of that habit by now."
He frowned, rising to fetch the crumpled pile of cotton tunic from where it had been tossed in the heat of passion. Hael wrapped it gingerly around Kalan, noting with amusement that it came almost to the youth's knees. He didn't bother to cover himself. The tent was warm, and he refused to act like he'd been embarressed by Vic's entrance. It would only encourage his errant behavior.
"I have a clutch dragon eggs I'd like you to take a look at. Perhaps you can figure out their species. But for now it's late. By now Andrika has most likely prepared your usual accomodations. You must be tired."
Hael was not attempting to be subtle, his blue eyes coldly focused on Vic, refusing to acknowledge the questions about Kalan. It was none of his business anyhow.
"I'm sure I can have some of this food sent alog to you, if you like. And there are already some gifts there for Mavis, as usual."
Hael's expression softened somewhat; for all his brother's antics, the male had always adored spoiling Mavis with gems. Especially because it bothered Vic that Hael could win over the dragon so easily.

Kalans eyes widened impossibly the moment that he heard another unfamiliar voice from within the tent, instinctively curling up just a little more to hide against Hael's chest. He couldn't help his curiosity, as mortified as he was that someone other than Haeldril could see his nakedness. That thought alone should have led him to question himself further, what made Haeldril special enough to be the only person to see his as such?
For the time being he thought did not occur to him, as he peeked uneasily down the length of he and Hael's bodies then further, across the table to the smug teal-clad figure.
He couldn't help the slightly distressed noise that left his throat as he saw just how casually he was being observed. Sure it was different from the way he had glimpsed Hael looking at him, there was a glint to the drow's eye that indicated that he was playing, but considering his state of undress he was not so quick to take note of this. He shot Hael an eternally greatful look as he tucked a tunic around himself, tucking his legs up a little under it.
"Who.. Is that..?" He asked very quietly, giving Vic another uneasy glance as he fidgeted the tunic around himself, considering the merits of flashing the drow in the tent once more so he could pull it on properly. He found he didn't quite have the nerve for it just yet, instead he subconsciously moved closer to his.. Lover..? For comfort, listening to the exchange in conversation in both amused and irritated tones.
He was very greatful that he failed to come up in conversation from Haeldril.

~

Vic couldn't help but let his grin broaden as he happily watched his brothers increasingly irritated reactions, and purposefully spoke with a very slightly sweet, sing-song tone to his voice.
"But Haeldril! I do know how you love my surprise visits! And here I thought you'd be overjoyed to see me again after such a long time apart, I thought I'd just drop by unannounced to see your overjoyed reaction." He happily bit into a cut down piece of steak, as it to make a point, wishing ruefully that it had been an apple. It would have made such a satisfying crunch.
He sat up a little more at the mention of the eggs, an intensely curious look about his features, Kalan seemingly forgotten for the moment, "Eggs..? So that's what this was about.. The bat was garbling the message quite a lot by that point.." He thoughtfully tugged on his goatee, his daft grin starting to creep back across his face as the cogs whirred in his mind about the many possibilities about the eggs.. Then about the possibility of his quarters being prepared by Andrika.. And how she may still be there if he hurried.. Not that she had given in.. Yes.. It was a matter of time, he concluded every time.
He arched an eyebrow, slapping a hand down on the table, (Causing Kalan to jump a little at the sudden noise..) "Well in that case.. I think I'll leave that lovely young fellow in your hands for the time being, brother! I'll be back for him in the future, mark my words!" He chuckled, hauling himself up from the cushions, "I'm sure you'll enjoy him just as much the second time, Hael. I won't be interrupting this time!"
And with that, he more than happily left the tent once more for the evening, there would be plenty of time for him to tease his brother and his nervous bed-companion when morning rolled around..
"I'll see you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed over breakfast, little love-birds~" He called over his shoulder as his parting comment.

~

Kalan continued to look aghast.. And more than a little embarrassed, his cheeks dark.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 22, 2008 12:39 pm

The moment Vic'zar disappeared from the tent, Haeldril's tense muscles suddenly relaxed, an almost dispairing moan rising up from his throat as his body went limp, flopping back onto the cushions. One arm instinctively went around Kalan, drawing the youth to his chest, unsure if it was for the comforting of the surface raider or himself. He sighed, closing his eyes as his free hand squeezed the bridge of his nose in an effort to stave off the impending headache. After a moment he opened his eyes, looking down at the male at his side, his expression softening.
"I apologize for that... I had no idea he would appear so suddenly. That was Vic'zar, my brother..."
He traced the line of Kalan's jaw with gentle, clever fingers.
"He happens to be the most knowledgable drow I know in terms of creatures, but unfortunately he is also a prankster, drunk and infamous lecher... I am deeply sorry if he caused you any distress."
A soothing kiss to the forehead as he settled in more comfortably against the cushions, unsure of how Kalan would be feeling right now, the anxiety sitting like a stone in the pit of his stomach.
"On the brighter side, he shouldn't be back until morning. He's rather infatuated with Andrika, and will most likely be attempting to cajole her into bed. As far as I know he's been unsuccessful for the past twenty years..."
Laughter almost bubbled past his lips.
"I understand if you would rather not spend the rest of the evening with me here tonight. I'll have Andrika bring you a change of clothes..."
He blushed slightly, looking away quickly to hide the sudden flush of pink.
"In all honesty I think what you had may be torn beyond repair..."

It had to be said, that Kalan wasn't all too sad to see the one-eyed drows back at last as the other left the tent in hot pursuit of the gloaming, loosing a sigh of relief as he wrapped his arms around himself somewhat, hugging Hael's tunic closer around himself.
"It's okay, Hae- Ooof!" He started, being jolted a little by the larger drow landing quite heavily beside him on the mound of cushions that they had until a few moments ago, bee happily having their post-coital cuddles on.
"He uhm.. Seems to be generally nice if a bit lewd.." He ventured cautiously as he was drawn up against Haeldril, it made him smile a little. A very small and out-of-place sweet smile. It felt good to be wanted.
"Hmm, he does seem interesting though, like there's some sort of underlying sharp intelligence lurking around in his mind. And you never know, maybe he thinks he'll get lucky and leave us well alone? Maybe even until much, much later in the morning?" He grinned a little more, tilting his head back at the gentle, slightly tickling attentions bestowed on his cheek and neck.
"Feels nice.." He murbled quietly as he fidgeted again when he was sure that Vic'zar would not be returning anytime soon, to face Haeldril just a little more and snake his arms up onto the older drow's chest, one traveling further to sit upon his shoulder and stroke his thumb over the blue-haired males neck.
"Mmm.." He nuzzled gently against Hael's chin before dipping his head a little as he tried to suppressed a silly little chuckle at the slightly hopeful, possibly fractionally insecure undertone he was picking up from Hael's last words.
"No no.. That's won't be necessary, Hael. I.. I do want to spend the evening with you.. And the night.. And even the morning and breakfast with your questionable brother.." He happily stroked the hand that had been resting on Hael's shoulder up the older drow's neck, "I don;t think the clothes will matter until then either, for that matter, hmm..?"
He finished with a sound kiss to Hael's lips and a pleased smile on his own.
