[[Doom doom doooom...]]

He hated front lunges, with a burning passion. The problem with these lunges with that awkwardness in terms of dodging them - for start they could never be fulyl dodged by one of his size in such an enclosed space. Whether he cared to admit it or not, he might have been capable of dodging the assault to his nose but he was going to get bitten somewhere else either which way.

Urgh, he hated bears.

The bear was simply too close to dodge him efficiently and with a disgruntled snort the stallion simply lifted his head up and out of the way - nose missed but unfortunately the bear's teeth had the honour of slashing against his chest. It was at times like these when he was greatful for glowing eyes, flashes of pain couldn't be detected. Luckily, the slash wasn't as extreme as it could have been given that the distance between his nose and chest would result in a weakening of the blow but all the same...

Shortly after the teeth pierced his chest he could already detect the faint smell of blood to which he responded by bouncing back in the most bizarre manner. Distance was paramount, the bear may have gotten the blow that time but he would have to cover more distance next time and the next time - he would meet Kiyoshi's whip!

(( xp ))
Honaw: Success! Though he had missed the stallion's nose he had hit the chest. A fair amount of his anger was replaced by gloating. Of course on the inside instead of out loud, he had some sense not to wave the red flag in front of the bull so to speak. This stallion probably would be more offended by gloating than an actual hit was his logic. If Melody wern't around he would not have held back taunts.

Seeing the stallion had backed further away, he waited a moment to see if he would retreat altogether. Simply he stared at Kiyoshi waiting for him to leave or try and attack, in which case he would be ready. Melody needed to get home quickly and if it meant letting Kiyoshi leave now rather than continuing the fight, he supposed that would be satisfactory.

Melody: Gazing over at the two she remained silent, proud of Honaw she was and yet she couldn't help but wonder what was to happen next.

Hesitation?

Kiyoshi's smile darkened considerably at this as he had seen it before, that moment when his challenger had a 'brain wave' and decided to wait for him to make the next move. Well that much he could arrange, but he wouldn't be the one who would be making the moves - he wouldn't budge. Thus, it was inevitable that this male stayed completely still save for the arching of one fine brow.

However, around his feed the foliage had begun to move and beady eyes stared out from beneath. A quiver, a small cluck of thought and they vanished once more. The ground fell still following this little encounter, then it began to move again. Quickly, the leaves spread apart as the little creature wove out from beneath the ground and began to head directly towards Melody.

At this moment, Kiyoshi tilted his head to the side in a suggestive manner - it was a silent question indicating that he had made his move...it was now time for the bear to make his. That being said, it was with a dramatic squeak that the rat launched itself from the undergrowth and grasped it's tiny paws around the mare's leck.

Melody: It was her turn to squeak in surprise as the rat latched onto her with it's paws. She began slightly gagging and jumping up and down like doing some sort of odd dance.

Honaw: Eyeing Kiyoshi suspiciously he wondered why he hadn't done anything at all. Hearing the sudden squeaking quickly changed this thought....

He padded quickly over to Melody, grasping the rat in between his teeth and squeezing. It had no option but to let go. What vermin!
When it dropped to the ground he whacked it away with a paw.

Gazing back to Melody she seemed ok asides from the rather ugly mark on her.

Turning and glaring at Kiyoshi he raised an eyebrow. "What trick is this?" Approaching the stallion claws out again he angrily took a swipe at him.

Kiyoshi dismissed the attack upon his cohort, assuming (accurately so) that the rat would recover and he could converse with it at a later date. It was perhaps one of the only creatures deemed worthy enough to be taken with him. In fact, said rat had been the only creature he had taken with him into unknown lands and his choice had paid off well - he had left a mark on the little wretch and now...

Oooh the bear looked positively furious.

Flashing a sly smirk, the stallion at last made his move. Slipping round the swipe, he flicked his hind quarters out at such a speed that the blades upon his tail lashed out cruelly towards the bear's head. It was true that the bear could dodge if he so chose to but the question remained - was he fast enough? Given his bulky and sluggish for, Kiyoshi wasn't so certain he was.

Nevertheless, blood boiling with anticipation, he ensured his attack remained on target and he had done it in the most 'acute' of ways - whereby should the bear attack again, he would hit the hindquarters but again...his claws would have to contend with the razor sharp edges of the armour as they slid down from his glorious black pelt. Kiyoshi was not a glutton for punishment, but pain was something he could endure when he knew that the opponent suffered more than he!

Honaw: True he did have his mouth open in shock at the approaching blades, but he had some sense not to freeze. Instead he moved his head quickly so he wasn't hit full on in the face- in particular the eyes or nose area.

Not having speed on his side completely, he copped it on his cheek on the right side of his face. Pirate hat knocked to the ground along with himself falling heavily, he was lucky he wasn't concussed. Instead a large gash was bleeding some what heavily on the side of his face. It went the whole length of his cheek and made him hiss from the stinging.

Reaching next to him he grabbed and replaced his hat before slowly making himself get up once again.

Melody: Seeing Honaw hit like that made her angrily yell. "Leave him alone!" Her poor poor bear. Like her little brother rather than simply a familiar. Carefully she made her way over to Honaw and though he was muttering for her to leave and turn back, she stood beside him with concern.

There it was, that cry that alerted him to the approaching end goal - she was surrendering. It was a slow process but she was getting there, every female seemed incapable of watching something they cared for be torn to pieces. Ah, they were so predictable, it had been why he had been so horribly successful in the past and why he had also sired a foal in the first place!

He hadn't exactly wanted an heir either, but where there was potential for something that benefited him, he would be there to smple it and assess it. Unfortunately he had yet to find substantial information of his child but alas, he had found yet another little 'jewel' to add to his crown and this one had a bear that was worthless. If all bears in the Kawani were like this then Kiyoshi would find himself in the greatest of moods!

Nevertheless, the cry of the mare hadn't gone unnoticed to one individual who had been exploring the lower reaches. More inclined o the mountain slopes, it was odd for him to descend but news of more pleasant foods had encouraged him. Thus, it should have been no surprise that he would have been discovered lying in a patch of ferns with his paws resting lightly on his tummy - expression content.

Aha, but those yells caused his fuzzy ears to perk and after a few moments of consideration he opted to find out what all the fuss was about. Furry form moving at a slow lop, his ears quivered every now and again at the ticklish leaves and their touch. Eventually, he did reach the required location though and stopped abruptly.

Eyes dilating slightly at the memory, this bear recognised the stallion immediately.

"You." He snarled. Not a question, but a statement.

It was enough to caused the smile to vanish from the stallion's face, the giant soquili adjusting his stance slightly to catch sight of the bear who seemed almost identical in colour to him. Even the feathers round his neck seemed to mimic the colour of the orb upon the chest of the soquili.

"You." The stallion hissed in reply.

Honaw: Having recovered his sense he stood in front of Melody protectively...Though she stayed where she was and did not go back to her spot from before. Wiping some of the blood off his face he growled at the stallion, determined to get him back for what he'd done.

When the newcomer approached, he glanced at him with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. He hadn't seen another bear for a long while in the soquili lands, but he was cautious because he did not know what this bear was going to do.

He simply stared as he was quite unsure as to what was going on.

Melody: Looking from Kiyoshi to the new bear she frowned lightly. Obviously these two knew each other and by the looks of it hated one another. They looked kind of similar which was confusing but hmm...the oppurtunity to leave perhaps....

"His been trying to hurt us." Giving an angry glare at Kiyoshi she quickly changed the expression to glance to the bear with instead, a saddened look.

"I gathered," the bear replied coolly, wiggling his fluffy yet stumpy tail in the process. This action made his rump quiver and while this would have been cute, it wasn't given the current sitution he now found himself in. Muscles tense, the normally cute and cuddly sloth bear was more a picture of hostility than that of a loving pet or plush toy. Nay, with a flash of his eyes he looked positively furious.

"This beast is incapable of anything else," remaining on all fours the bear stalked towards the stallion in a very specific manner, weaving from side to side to make himself a difficult target. He was by no means prepared to stand on all fours yet - such forms of combat were reserved for the midst of a battle when the bear had the upper hand. "And is well renowned for that..."

"You flatter me," Kiyoshi's tone dripped of sarcasm, eyes glowing with a lot more severity than before. That being said, his actions towards this bear were much more peculiar. Instead of goading the bear he seemed to be taking steps back every now and again - clearly uncomfortable in the presence of the fluffy bast.

"Not my intention," the bear statement plainly, coming to a halt with his teeth still bared, "Get out."

It was in these moments that a rare expression seemed to quiver over the features of the soquili. Not quite an expression of uncertainty, nor one of revulsion...It was difficult to tell but whatever the ultimate and true emotion may have been it brought about the most surprising of results. The stallion turned around, flicked his tail towards the bear in a final act of provocation and then...

"You are not worth my time." He was gone, sauntering away from the bear in a disgruntled fashion until he had all but vanished from view, leaving the bear to examine the results of the soquili's misbehaviour.

"You do not look so good," he pointed out to Honaw in a rather obvious fashion.

Honaw: How strange that had been...Oh well atleast that stupid soquili had gone.

"I'll live." He said rather gruffly to the other bear. Last thing he wanted was for someone to think he was a weakling. Especially one of his own kind...

After a moment of thinking he sighed softly. He decided to try and be more polite. Grateful for what the other had done after all, he also tended to like the other bears. In the end he tipped his hat to the other bear as his way of thanks. "Soquili should really think better of annoying bears." A slight grin formed on his face.

Melody: Finally that evil beast was gone! With a relieved grin she trotted over to the bear and exclaimed. "Thankyou!" Poking him gently with her nose to show her thanks, she further added. "I've never met someone so horrible as him before."

She wandered excitedly back over to Honaw, her spirit seeming to have already returned to it's former upbeat happiness. "You bears certainly are brave." Grinning down at Honaw she nudged him playfully. "And how can I forget what you have done, I couldn't ask for a better friend."

"That would be because so few are quite like him to begin with," the sloth bear explained, smiling pleasantly as he was nuzzled by the soquili. Ever fond of mares and their habit of fawning over him he could do little more the growl appreciatively in response. That being said, the very fact that Kiyoshi had wound up in the Kawani lands was enough to make the bear's stomach churn.

...Not because he was frightened of Kiyoshi in terms of his own safety but because of what he could do to others. Had it not been for Honaw the consequences may have been dire for the mare, she had been favoured by the spirits today. As had Sparkles been so favoured when he had aided her himself, against this beast no less.

"It is most unfortunate for you to have met him," he added softly, preferring not to go into details in relation to the exact identity of the soquili for fear of boosting the damn male's ego even further. That was the problem with Kiyoshi, he thrived on fear and should his name be spread across these lands it would be exactly what the wretch wanted - and he would use it to his advantage...without fail.

"However it is not through fear that he leaves," Giruvegan shook his head and dismissed the topic abruptly, "You are sure you are both alright?"
PostPosted: Fri Feb 08, 2008 3:33 am

Melody: Noticing Giruvegan eager to dismiss the subject she added lastly. "His gone and I shall not think of him for another second." Shaking her head as if to remove the memory she grinned. "I'm fine. Just a little tired." She gave a nod. "Think I should get Honaw to see a human though... that wound doesn't look too great."

Honaw: He scowled and snorted. "I'm not seeing any of those darn two leggers." Shaking his head he added. "It'll heal itself. Though I think we should be heading back now." He stifled a yawn and scratched his back tiredly.

Melody: Watching Honaw she declared. "We'll go home now then. We don't want to be stuck here when it's dark either..." She gazed up at what little sky could be seen above the towering trees.

Turning back to the other bear she smiled brightly. "It's a shame we must go. I don't think I told you, but I'm Melody and this is Honaw. Do visit us sometime won't you?" Chuckling she turned away and began trotting off up the path.

"Thanks again!" She called behind her.

In the distance could be heard the renewed hummings of a bright pink soquili and the gigantic yawn of a sleepy pirate bear in need of a nap.
