Aubrey leaned back into her seat. "Yeah, everything about this island is pretty amazing. Especially Dr. Moreau, she thought with a smile. "I'm sure this will end up being the best time of your life, in the long run. On the brink of amazing things, we are. We're all going to be going down in the history books. And to think you'll be a part of it, Miss Greer"
The complex drew closer, and farther down the mountain the town could be seen. It was plain as far as aestetics goes, but some of the buildings were oddly shaped and seemed to be designed abnormally high, or filled with water. But most of the buildings, which could be assumed to be the living quaters, looked like townhouses of sorts; like two effiency apartments stacked on top of each other.

She nodded, thrilled at the prospect of being surrounded by like-minded people for the first time in her life. "A single scientific discovery can change the world." Not that Greer had any such lofty ambitions. She just wanted to catalog bugs.
Craning her neck to see all the buildings, she squinted at them all, curious about some of the oddly shaped ones but not brave enough to ask about them.
"More shots before move in, huh?"

Aubrey pulled the Jeep up close the largest of the lab buildings. Huge, glass doors welcomed them in, though no handles of any kind could be seen. "Oh, yes unforuntately. There will be shots on a fairly regular basis. But its worth it, I promise."
Aubrey alked around and opened the car door for Greer. "Leave your things for now, I'll be driving you to your housing after your meet Doctor Moreau."
Aubrey made sure Greer stayed close to her as she walked up the staircase towards the entrace. As Aubrey approached, the doors slid open fluidly. As soon as Greer and herself stepped through, the closed with a clean swoosh.
The lobby was marble floored, with big plush couches, some coffee tables lined with science magazines, and a few decorative vases. Aubrey offered a seat to the woman, then reached in her jacked and pulled out a small radio that resembled more of cel-phone than the large, clunky ones you usually see in most feild operations. "Doctor? Miss Cassenwari is here to see you."

Greer followed Aubrey into the building obediently, jumping at the doors smooth and unexpected movement, but managing to supress the usual squeak. Inside her own head she giggled, thinking of old Star Trek episodes and supressing the urge to look around for the men pulling strings behind the walls. It's not like they would be there anyway: in a place like this, the special effects were certain to be much better executed.
Sitting, she smoothed her hair back behind her ears and squeezed her knees together. She attempted to look alert and intelligent as she waited, managing only to just get 'attentive puppy'.

The elevator opened as the handsome red-haired doctor stepped through. "Ahhh... Greer was it? Welcome to my island, and to my lab."
Moreau smiled curtiously, "Of course you've already been told about the injections that are required. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here."
"Come with me," Moreau lead Greer and Aubrey towards the elevator which opened on it's own, having no buttons on the inside or outside.
"Floor 8" he said then paused. "So what school did you study at Ms. Cassenwari?"

Aubrey smiled excited when the Doctor came in, straightening up and went immeaditely to his side.

She quickly stood and followed Aubrey and the doctor into the elevator. Once inside the buttonless metal box she found herself distracted by the curious play of light on metal, and missed what Moreau asked her.
"Hmm? School? Oh, I did my graduate work at the University of Washington. In Seattle."

"Ahhh... Aubrey and myself went to Harvard." it was very odvious that Moreau was a bit of an elitest.
The elevator doors opened themselves when the elevator reached floor 8 as it opened into a large lab room with a table in the middle. The room was full of all kinds of scientific equipment but nothing that really hinted to the reason it was around.
"Go sit on that metal table there please, and roll up your sleeve." Moreau walked over to a cabnet that opened when he ran his hand across it.

"Harvard? Really?" Greer nodded, looking at her hands. "That must have been expensive."
Following her two guides into the room, she gaped at all the equipment, amazed at everything she saw. She didn't know what half of it did, but it all look like it belonged in a really well stocked sci-fi B movie set.
"This is all... wow." Damn it! Did she have to sound like a drooling idiot right off the bat? Mentally berating herself, Greer hopped up on the indicated table, taking of her jacket to exspose her arms.

Moreau pulled a vial from the cabnet and inserted it into a needle, the liquid was a blue color. Moreau walked back over to Greer. "I look forward to seeing the results of your studies on my island."
"This might sting... a little." he inserted the needle into her arm as it caused a slight burning sensation in the area as the preperation serum began it's work.
"You'll be staying in 04, it's the top floor of the second duplex... I hope you like heights." Moreau smiled to Greer. "Now come on, I'll show you out."

She winced at the needle, but after all the vaccines she'd had in the past few days, her arm was rather on the numb side.
"I've never been to bothered with heights - it's the falling from them that worry me." Greer smiled brightly, following after the doctor. "Thank you for seeing to me. I appreciate your concern for my health."
She patted herself on the back. So far, so polite.

Moreau lead Greer to the elevator and out the door. As they approached the fence he point in the direction of the village that he had set up. "There is a common area where food is served, as well as medical supplies, it''s also where you can request any special supplies you might need for your research. Of course your Duplex is there as well, numbered."
"Enjoy your stay on my island" Dr. Moreau said as he allowed the gate to close behind Greer.

"Thank you!" Greer sighed, happy and expectant. This was going to be great! Looking over the short route she had to walk she frowned, a sudden wave of heat and exhaustion washing over her. She was almost done, could almost rest. Now, to lug three heavy cases and her bag over to her new home and then take a looong nap...

Glass, while exellent for protecting her collection and perfect for giving her pets viewable homes, was way too heavy. Greer lay on the floor, her bed occupied by display cases she hadn't found a place on the walls for yet. Ugh. It was too hot. Too sunny. The trouble with the tropics was that, unlike Seattle, it didn't have very many clouds.

Cassidy debated a little to herself. She had to introduce herself sometime, after all. She didn't want to avoid anyone. She was going to be friendly and outgoing and...
...yeah, like hell.
She screwed up her courage and knocked on Greer's door anyway.
