Carden caught up and they went off at a slower pace. Carden couldn't help but notice that a few flowers died when he got near. He hoped Harmony didn't notice. "Flowers... are nature's time keepers..." he said for conversation. As much conversation as can be had by a mute anyways.

Harmony looked at him with interest in her eyes, begging him to tell her more. She didn't know that much about lowers, she just enjoyed them and thought they were beautful. Carden is quite an intelligent pony she thought.

Carden swallowed- wetting his parched throat. "Sunflowers... travel across the sky looking for the sun... other flowers... close at night to save thier energy. So... they're handy... and pretty..." He didn't really know much else.

Harmony giggled silently. Carden was just too cute! She wished she could start a conversation or just compliment him on his flower knowledge, but she hadn't remembered to bring her notebook and pen, and without them she wasn't sure what to do.

Carden felt his wrappings come undone and sat with a sigh to rearrange them. He found himself looking for things t say- him!- because she couldn't say anything; "The problems with these things is that they are always loose and if you have them too tight it's worse... Never get mummified, I tell you..."

Harmony sat down next to him and smiled at his mummified comment. She picked up one of his bandages and dropped it quickly. Im sorry she thought I shouldn't touch them without asking...but how would I ask? And how do I let him know I just want to help? She was a little wary of upsetting him.

Carden picked up the piece that Harmony dropped and ran his hoof along it before dropping it again. "There... is a bit over my neck that I can never get straight enough- it always fusses my mane... could you get it for me?" he asked.

Harmony blushed He wants your help! SQUEE! She shuffled around to sit behind him, adjusting the bandage and moving his mane around gently so that the bandage sat straighter and neater across his neck. He has a lovely mane she thought happily. When she'd finished she waited to see if it was better now.

Carden flipped the end pice and tucked it in then he flexed his muscles and chomped his mouth. "Much better. Thankyou." He tapped the ground a little. "So this is your favourite place? It reminds me a lot of you... You know flowers have a language to themselves....Like you do... like a yellow rose means everlasting love, like that one over there, on the cornier of that purple thistle."

Harmony blushed a deep pink colour and glaced over at the rose. I wonder if he has feelings for me? she thought, as her face changed to a shade of red. She nodded at what he was saying, understanding everything and hoping he'd go on.

Carden's mouth thinned a little. He couldn't blush. "When you do that, it looks like poppies have bloomed there," he said softly. "I knew somone once who liked Poppies. Do you? They make a strong mind numbant out of them... opium poppies..."

Harmony nodded enthusiastically. She adored poppies, obviously not for their brain numbing qualities but she thought they were beautiful. She smiled and looked down at her feet shyly at his compliment.

Harmony looked at him, a little unsure how to answer. She knew what she would say, but how would he take it? And how would she tell him? After a moment of thought she had an idea, but was a little uneasy about trying it in case he got upset with her. Nervously she slowly reached up and touched his face gently, stroking his cheek lightly. I think you're really cute and you are so sweet she thought, hoping it would radiate through her touch, and he would understand.

Carden's eyes widened. "Uhm... you're doing that intense thing again," he said, trying not to shy away with a joke. "But... uhm... thankyou? I think my colour looks like a pansy too," he said with a short burst of laughter. "I don't suppose many people have asked you that..."
