Silver_Tygress Kaliska spiraled in for a landing slowly to give time for her coyote Nida to join her. She was really nervous but she prefered the idea of doing something rather than waiting it out. There wasn't that much passivity in her personality. As she got closer she spotted Ren, a little surprised he was there before her but very happy to see him. The rosey swirled dragoness landed near the tiger striped male. "Good to see you're here," she said to him.Nida was silent as she arrived at Kaliska's side. Nodding Ren smiled as Kaliska landed next to him, "nice to see you here to." Turning back he listened to Kitxoone's speech and sighed looking from Kitxoone to the trunk of the tree that had suddenly opened up to reveil weapens. "i dont think this will end well."

Having his feeble attempt of an approach disturbed by the loud fairy, Echo grunted quietly under his breath. He peered over to the man, tail swaying absently from side to side as he listened as closely as he could bother to. He didn't want to be here. It was all Karo's fault. And not being exactly the hero-of-all-ages type, as soon as Kitxoone stopped talking (and once Echo himself had recovered from the surprise of the tree-weaponry) he sat back, raising more onto his hind legs and waving his front paw in the air. "S'cuse me! I have a question. Are everyone required to learn offensive attacks or can some-- uh, like myself -- concentrate on evading attack and protecting the others?" Chicken, his conscience told him in the back of his head.

Seiki watched the strange mannerisms of the fairy who was talking to everyone in the group. Who was the strange fellow anyway? Watching him as he continued to explain the current situation on the island Seiki shuddered. Why would any painter wish to help out something that was clearly going to use them and then throw them away? Shaking his head and shutting his eyes he rid his mind of such thoughts. They were foolish, and foolish ones must die. It was a common rule.
Opening his eyes to see the small green hair fairy walking towards the forest he lifts a brow. What the hell was he talking about? Oh- More swords, Lovely. Frowning at the closet full of swords Seiki looked back up at the fairy. If it would shut up the voice and keep the annoying earthquakes from coming he was willing to take hold of a sword and fight, even if he disliked violence.
Walking over to the closet full of wooden enchanted swords Seiki picked one up with his left hand. It did feel much heavier than a true wooden sword. Turing it over and over in his hand a few times as he examined it he smiled. Well maybe he would like using it after all.
“…and now what? Attack a tree?”

Seeing Seiki take a sword Ren had to all but do the same even if he didnt like them that much. Walking up next to him he looked over the swords before grabbing on and swinging it around. "maybe we attack each other?" Swinging the sword more he glanced at Seiki.

Marlowe swung his head towards Kitxoone as he began to speak. After the fairy finished his speech, he understood the reason behind the voices and the quakes and was now more ready to take on the dark foe than ever. He looked over at the swords that came out of the tree and went to get one. He lifted one sword up and felt how much different it was compared to the other he already had. He furrowed his brow as he wondered if he could possibly use magic through this sword. Shrugging, he sauntered back to Korrit's side. "You should get a weapon yourself. We can practice together that way."

Still gripping the sword he'd taken from the table, Orion huffed a sigh. Kitxoone's remark about loved ones with Qehj hit close to home. He didn't need to go looking for his adopted brother to know where he was. Puck always had a weakness for the dark arts.
Trying to focus on events here rather than elsewhere, he turned his gaze on the other sandpainters as they started practicing with their swords. Sitting back on his haunches, he swung the wooden blade back and forth several times, getting used to the weight of it in his claws.

Gracefully landing Ruby looked around the camp. ‘Am I that late?’ She pondered as she moved about the mass of sand painters in the area. But not too late. She realized as she heard Kitxoone talking and sighed quietly in relief. Hating that horrible voice and knowing that it scared most of the others had made her decision even more firm. Ruby was going to fight and help as best as she could for peace.
Her gaze swerved around and finally rested on one of the swords. It seemed to be just right…with that decided she nimbly moved through the painters and picked up the wooden sword. A war-mage…but wouldn’t that be difficult for her since she hadn’t decided on magic yet? A breeze swept by and Ruby realized that if she did pick magic that it’d most likely be air based. Twirling the wooden blade in her claws, the painter focused on it's make before looking around to see if she recognized any of the others that were in the camp. Noticing some she wondered whether she should approach, but the painter decided against it. I’m usually quiet anyways…definitely not good in conversations with painters I barely know. But maybe another would approach her? Either way she wouldn’t mind…company could be good. Sometimes…
With that in mind she gripped tightly to the sword and started slowly tossing back from claw to claw it trying to get used to the sudden weight that it carried.

Ran kept a good distance from Echo, folding her brown wings over her sides as she listened to Kitxoone. She took a glance at the swords, a cold shudder running over her. She wasn't very fond of weapons, especially that one in particular. Not wanting to be rude, she waited for the fairy to reply to Echo's inquiry before asking him something. She knew he had to have lots on his hands with all the chaos that was occurring thus didn't want to be a bother.

Seiki raised a brow at Ren then smirked, “Maybe we do then. Shall we?” He eyes sparkled with playfulness as he looked Ren straight in the eye then without much warning he took to the area, choosing a spot a little farther away form the others where the both of them could spar without harming the others. “Come get me Ren!” the nebula dragon called as he landed his sword ready. He would learn to use it alright, the hard way.

Aziraphael was back, hopping along in an ungainly way, trying to not fall off of balance. Ginger was along with the sandpaint - who also seemed clearly exasperated with the draconian creature.
"As I was saying, if you would just listen, girl," the companion rolled her eyes at Aziraphael, "I'm staying out. I'll listen and help you when needed but other than that I highly doubt they'd need a Human involved with Sandpaint politics."
But Aziraphael merely handed over her wooden sword. Azira wouldn't need the sword. She had her claws and her magic, if she ever got over her airy phobia! But it so happened that she has missed out on something important. I told you so hung in the air unsaid between the pair. It needn't be voiced.
Instead, they headed closer to Kitxoone hoping that they'd overhear what had been said or at least get more information. This group was rather large, and hopefully together on this, thought the sandpaint companion.

With a great rumling noise, Akimitzu landed right in the middle of the speech. Following the others into line, he decided that he would rather fight this thing called the darkness than ever succumb to any mind control. Picking up a sword and twirling the wood in his hands, he tried to get used to the feel of carrying a weapon. He wasn't much of a weapon user, but knew he'd need all the help he could get if the rumors of this "darkness" were at all true

*Charon jumped at the clattering boom of Kitxoone's staff, his wings opening to full span in surprise. He folded them once again when it became clear the fairy's intention was to get all of their attentions. He listened closely- wondering what exactly this 'fire and earth' ceremony entailed...
Though he had no 'loved ones' in danger of falling to the Darkness- Charon was still intent of freeing himself from any influence. Kit's mention of learning to shield one's mind was what interested him the most.*
Teams...
*The red Painter muttered, looking from his sword to the others in the group who had already begun to split up into twos.*

Akimitzu stood off to one corner twirling his sword and trying out different techniques, he was new and didn't want to attract too much attention to himself. He'd wait for someone to approach him. Akimitzu was also thinking to himself about the ceremony that was held to appease the goddess that Kixtoone was talking about. He wondered what the earth magics were all about. He'd always been interested in magic, and in anything to do with mother earth. Combining them sounded interesting indeed. Looking back over his shoulder at the other painters all in pairs and sparring, Akimitzu wished he would become a great legend...

He make a sort of bow before taking what he hoped looked like a fighting stance. Haveing never have been trained in it, "Lets play." biggrin

As soon as Kixtoone began his speech Korrit was mesmerized. The usually ditzy (or at least oblivious) Painter seemed to swell with pride at her choice, and for those around her who had also made it. They were fighting for the honor of their species' mother, and for their freedom, and she was set to do her best in the face of whatever adversity arose to block them from victory.
When Marlowe approached her about getting her own weapon and being his partner in training she had to pause. Truthfully there was no one here she would rather fight beside, but at the same time that could be harmful as well as helpful. Marlowe might distract her, whether he meant to or not. It would take thought to decide...what she wanted and what The Cause needed might be two different things. For now though there was no harm in agreeing to train with him. Worst could happen would be they'd have to go to different groups later. So far Kixtoone hadn't said how they'd train, it might be even done by gender...
With a shrug and a nod she slipped through the milling crowd to look into the tree full of swords. After a moment's consideration she hefted one, turning it about in her hand. It was indeed much heavier than the thin thing she'd snagged off the table earlier, but it wasn't too bad...She set it back in the tree and lifted another. Ah, this one! It seemed to fit her hand better, though for all outward appearances it was the same. Person choice, she supposed. New weapon in claw she made her way back to Marlowe's side.
"Looks like we're ready to start then," She sighed, nearly trembling with a sort of morbid excitement. "We've got to do our best..."
