Gorgeous digital realism.
Her devart page She get's paid quite a bit for commercial work so I understand her high prices. For something that I'm probably just going to print out and display on my wall or on a website $500 is way too much.
I suppose if she does get paid igh for that she would expect high pay for commisions...

is pretty, but it's
easier than working with like real paints and such... because if you screw something up on the computer you can usually undo it.. Digital art can be overpriced, if you ask me.

real like paints or pencils, etc... then it would be well worth $500 or more. But for just a Pintout I think that's a little rediculous... but then again, like you said, she gets paid a lot for commercial work... and it's probably more like you're paying for her time. Just my odd little opinion/rant.
