I didn't realise it would be out that quickly; that's awesome! razz xd whee
All of the interviews say they think of HBP as a comedic book. Besides DH, which only made me laugh 3 times since it's the darkest, I find all of the books equally amusing. I hope they don't try to over-do what they view as amusment. sweatdrop I mean, in PoA that made Ron seem like a complete moron for comedy's sake and - even though I don't like Ron - it seriously irritated me. stressed
They've been hinting at the RW/HG romance since CoS even though in the books it doesn't come up until book 4 because movies seem to adore romantic drama, so I'm sure that LOADS of emphasis will be placed on RW/HG and HP/GW.
i was glad to see in the clips that they were making Quidditch uniforms because Quidditch hasn't been in the films since CoS (unless you count that ridiculously short scene in PoA) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE when Luna commentates the match. heart So -like I said - I'm glad they're including that.
I really enjoy observing Draco's character in the sixth novel, thus I'm hoping that Tom Felton does him justice, and that the writers care enough about Draco to stay away from the romance for a few seconds to let him have his series of short scenes that lead to the finale at the end.
I despise how the new actor for Dumbledore has made the serene headmaster seem so gruff since PoA, ergo I suspect I'm going to loath viewing him in all those scenes. I might like his death scene, however, if Tom does a good job; I know Alan Rickman (Snape) will.
Slughorn is terribly cast. He's not round enough and doesn't have the huge signature mustache. Of course, Lupin wasn't done well either. sad *sigh* For that, I don't blame the actor; I blame the director. I could rant forever about the PoA director, so I'll stop here, shall I? redface
I hope they include the Felix Felicis and how Slughorn was fond of Harry's mother. That was a fun scene, and because Sirius and Snape invariably mention James, it's nice to see someone talk about Lily.
What I hope they don't include is the NT/RL rubbish at the end. You do know JKR didn't originally intend for them to get together, right? She was going to kill Arthur with the snake in OotP, but decided not to so she could keep Ron amusing and not in mourning. She really wanted to kill off a parent in the war (as if Harry's weren't enough), so she had to put a couple together, make them have a child, and kill them before the series ended. As a fellow writer, I believe it was very poorly done, for nothing in OotP indicated romance between them, so when they go together in HBP it was sooo random. Then, their deaths were so pathetically obviously inserted because in DH Harry just saw their corpses lying there. Everyone else from Lupin's generation (the James-Lily flashback, Sirius, Wormtail, and Snape) all got a death scene; if JKR was going to kill Remus off she should've given him one, too. Yes, I hope they don't include the NT/RL romance OR their deaths in the movies.
Wow, longest post in the thread yet! 4laugh By the way...Quote: What really kills me is when they cut out stuff, and then they throw in pointless things they came up with to stretch the movie because it's not long enough... Hello!!! Why don't you just leave in the main parts?! *off topic* that kills me when they do it in anime, too. I was reading my InuYasha mangas and saw all this stuff that the tv series had taken out, and then I got to Ayame and 'The woman who loves Sessho-Maru,' which isn't in the manga, and read an interview about why they included that, and they writers said that it was to fill in empty spaces because they didn't have enough for the number of episodes they needed... I was like QUIT TAKING PARTS OUT AND YOU WON'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM!!!! Sorry 'bout that... I realize that next to no one here watches that particular anime... But they do it in Harry Potter, too, and it drives me crazy! I heart that anime, though I've only watched season one.

I cannot wait for this movie! I want it to be sooner.

Also, to the above poster... They have to include Tonks and Remus' deaths. Why wouldn't they? It's in the books. And there is nothing you can change, it's over, and you shouldn't really be so critical about every little detail.

Honestly, I agree with Gardens. It was in the books, and like I've said before, cutting stuff out doesn't bother me too much (when it's not conducive to the main plot), it's when they completely alter something that happened. Not including Tonks and Remus would eliminate part of the plot, not to mention a character. I do, however, agree that Remus' death should have gotten a little more notice. Maybe Harry seeing him die, or perhaps he tried to save Tonks and got killed, only to have her die moments later....
And I do agree that they shouldn't make the movie comedic. Honestly, I didn't find any of them to be comedic after GoF. Sure, they had a few amusing scenes, but the majority of it was dark and depressing, so if they try to make it funny, I will most definetly be ranting.
And I agree with what Min said about Dumbledore as well. I really really don't like the new actor. I don't think he fits the bill, honestly. I think that Dumbledore (the 2nd time around), Lupin, and Sirius were all poorly cast in that movie. I'm sorry, but I just plain don't like any of those actors for the parts. Lupin's nice enough, but he's not tired or tormented or haggard or any of the things that being a werewolf was supposed to make Lupin be. Sirius seemed off to me, I don't know why, but there's just something about him I didn't particularly like. Dumbledore is supposed to be a wise, serene man, and the new guy makes him loud and abrupt and hurried...

You guys also have to remember that they're being directed and told what is needed from the scene and sort of how to act during it. The actors they have chosen are all amazing accomplished actors and I think all do an amazing job for their characters. There is no movie in which a character from a book is going to be the exact description on film. I think they did casting perfect, and I like the new actor for Dumbledore. They first one was also good, but we never really even seen much of him from only being in the first two movies.
You're all being too harsh on this. I'd like to see you guys try and act the parts as good as you want them.

jillian_insomnia I cannot wait! It is going to be simply amazing. I am so sad that the series is almost over though. I always said after I read the books "well atleast I will have the movies" but they are catching up very fast too. Well, we can atleast look forward to the amusement park version of Hogwarts and Hogsmede coming out in 2009. heart AMMUSEMENT PART VERSION?!!?!?!? HOW COULD I NOT HAVE HEARD ABOUT THIS? Oh, this is good. This is very, very good.

Aaahhh! I can't wait! -jumps up and down- I hope it's better than the third, fourth, and fifth movies, though. =/
Grrr. Tonks looks nothing like I'd imagined... expecially her new hair. I mean, the pink hair was okay (I'd imagined it alot shorter and sticking up at odd places... xD), but this depiction of her hair in the sixth book is... well, I don't think it's the best, to put it bluntly.
And, if the sixth movie is anything like the third-fifth, I'll be VERY angry and I'll start sobbing in the movie theater. (I can imagine it now... my friends will be all, "o__O; WUT?") ...I hope they have more Remus and Severus in this movie...
