Warriors definately need a boost in stats. Blizzard is leaaving them a bit behind.

Fahsky might've meant the new tank that'll be coming, our unholy new lords, the Death Knights. pirate
Eh. They won't be good at everything, hopefully. I'm sick of having so many hybrid classes. I hope that they'll be focused on DPS and just be able to heal and burst tank (sorta like having an hour long cooldown ability that works like Shield Block or something so they can tank when really needed).

very unlikely, in fact probably already proven false.

they're designing death knights as a tanking/dps hybrid like the warrior. its to help address the tanking shortage. as far as we know, they are not a healing class.

since it doesn't use shields, it will probably have high stam and dodge/parry (or w/e) and be similar to druid tanking.

Eh. No me gusta. The only reason there aren't enough tanks is because it's a challenge to tank and people are stupid.

I do not like that last thought that tank people are stupid. They are actually in most cases the most intelligent person in the group/raid. Or at least the funniest, but they know their job. Tanking is quite difficult, yes, and it takes some bit of skill to tank. It takes a great deal of skill to tank very efficiently.

You misunderstood me. I was saying that tanking is hard. Also, many people are stupid. I wasn't saying tanks were stupid.

I have to agree with Mule on this one. Tanking is hard and the general population as a whole can be "stupid" so that is why there is a shortage on tanks wink

I also believe tanks need to have the ability to multitask. Sure some people think you just hold aggro but also a tank has to make sure the rest of the party is not dying behind him/her also. It is hard to view the battlefield like a priest/mage/hunter/lock when you are up close and personal.

Possibly, which is why blizzard wants to add another tanking class.

I'll unlock a dk when it's out, but probably just end up sticking to my shaman. :$

Maybe if they made tanks have a role in pvp, other than just holding agro on vann/drek and running the wsg flag.

I was pointing to the DK as the fourth tanking class. I used to tank on my shammy in 55-ish instances (ZF, ST, BRD) before the changes to the class.

Tanking really is a hard role, as mentioned, because you can't just be focused on keeping aggro - you need to watch your CC, be aware of how the encounter goes or mob behavior, watch the environment for other threats, make sure your DPS knows WTF they're doing, ect. Your gear needs to be top-notch the most out of everyone in the group. And as the running 'joke' "It's always the healer's fault", a lot of people will want to pin the blame-tail on the tank. So yes, kudos to all the tanks.

And yes, I hate that I'm pretty much entirely worthless in PvP as Prot, except for holding a node while waiting for assistance in AB. And since my resilliance sucks, that's kind of a whole 'nother story. I usually just whip out my (shitty) healing set for WSG & assist the FR.

Definetly. What's CC? I'm a noob. D_=
You gotta watch out for when for you noob, who backs up into a mob of new monsters, and you're responsible for them. DPS does have to know what they're doing... totally agree.

My gear was nice. Scarlet Set.. even though it's for pallies. Was missing the chestpiece though. :C

You can't PVP in Prot. That's why I hated changing into Prot, PVP = Life. Tanking = Life. xD

Tanking is so much harder, and has a hella lot of responsibility. It's so stressful at times, Energy Drinks to help FTW. C:

Yeah, I did read through that twice, however I really didn't see the "people" part. Never post right after you finish a round of late night studying before crashing.

Tanking is only really hard when DPS is flying everywhere without check, in my opinion.

I tanked BRD again last night, and after recieving some tips from a t6 geared tank playing an alt and taking notes after observing an amazing warrior tank in Slabs while on my priest, I recieved a lot of praise from my BRD grp for being such a good leader/tank. This is what I learned.

- Dont be afraid to use the taunt button preemptively.
The slabs warrior I had would run in, and the first button she'd hit would be taunt. It worked very well.

-Bloodrage.
I think I totally forgot this ability while not playing my warrior for a year, but its great. Completely eliminates the need for the stance switch, which means you can start laying down threat quicker. I went in about 3-4 seconds before it was done.

Using those two abilities/strats and my previous knowledge, I was able to tank pretty well throughout the entire instance.
I still have a lot of trouble with groups of lots of little non-elites. Groups of 3-4 I can hold well, but for some reason non-elites seem to throw me off.

I only Taunt when I see the person Target's Target thing. xD
I never received any tips any warriors, only from a priest. LRN2SUNDER NUB. Lmfao. I remember those days..

-Bloodrage
Bloodrage is the best ability ever, +Like 10 rage, and 1 every 2 seconds or something. Its awesome. I forgot about Bloodrage too.

I don't see how hard Non-elites are, as long as your priest is pro, there's going to be no trouble. Whirlwind, then Cleave, cleave, whirlwind, cleave cleave. Or if you have a big group just whirlwind for about 2 seconds, then go back to normal attacks.

If you're fury tanking, Whirlwind, Bloodthirst, Cleaves, and Sunder is your best tanking abilities.
