Joker_Kong Due to summoning jagex is still fixing gliches in the game in cluding the new level cap of level 130 Err... What? The lvl cap is supposed to be raised, and it is 138 for completing Sum. All those with 127+ aren't glitched, if that's what you're inferring.

Summoning controversy. The guy is quite rite actually. Check out his topic for more info. Quick find code: 27-28-495-55412935Quote: 18-Jan-2008 03:19:16 Last edited on 18-Jan-2008 22:28:55 by Ice Giant 99 In the past Jagex has lied about the whip and maul special attack which have been around for months was a "glitch". History repeats itself? - Recently Jagex has annonced to the players that "something big was coming on the horizon." In one of the development diaries jagex stated that the skill will be neither expensive or cheap to train and promised many great benefits to come. I did the math for the shards and even thought it has been decreased by 50 percent it still comes to 150-200M JUST in shards... Not including pots and training equipment. I paid for new membership because they stated that it would be neither expensive or cheap to train and showed benefits. IT ISNT. It cost me mills and tens of hours to get a measly 40 summoning level. Now i can summon ants. ANTS? Why you might ask? What would they make the hardest skill RS has ever seen when there could have been so much potential? It all comes down to money. It ensures runescape's survival (Which was dying because they took away player interaction such as pking and lootshare) and the game was getting repetitive and dull. So they needed a method to remove inflation and make a skill that would take YEARS to train. Basically make an impossible skill. Is this what they promised? NO! The 4 development diaries was a SCAM. They made the anticipation great so it would be a marketing ploy. They didnt announce the date for summoning so players would get membership by the day. They also have over exaggerated themselves when they "claim" they have created one of the greatest skills. Ill say it again: Its a SCAM. I spent a mill getting 40 summoning, 99 (13M exp) would take 150M+ So Jagex basically created a skill that .005 percent of the rs population can train up? ->This isnt a rant about how hard it is, i like the challenge. Its the fact that they LIED for more members <- How can Jagex say no to RL traders and scammers when they have scammed the entire RS population? Quote: 18-Jan-2008 03:19:44 Last edited on 18-Jan-2008 21:00:43 by Ice Giant 99 Jagex LIES Again! They say that while it has benefits like making trips easier with more space (Yak paks) and cutting your trees. 1. Getting the charms is exceedingly difficult. Getting a blue charm might take HOURS. 2. It costs millions to even get to a semi-decent level. (Ants which can carry 2 takes MILLS and many days of hard work for a 126 maxed bonus' like me to get, for an average player it will take WEEKS. WEEKS! 3. The monsters are weak! The highest familiar (Rune minotaur which takes 96 summoning to summon, is only level 99! And an average player will have a chicken to blast 2s. BIG WHOOP 4. Monsters that help out your training? BS. It is faster skilling than training up summoning high just so they would cut a few logs for you and make it rain COD. this is excluding getting charms which take ages to get. Adding those ramifications in, jagex has just lied again to make more money and ensure constant membership. By advertising they have just got a wave of players curious about membership. By making an impossible skill they have just guarenteed their future - Players can never "Finish summoning" for years, thats years of membership. My point is: even if you COULD sell the scrolls, you wouldnt even have enough money to be able to make the scrolls that are decent (because you have to spend mills making scrolls that no one buys, and you wont even be high enough summoning to make lets say a yak) You notice right away that players are all selling low level scrolls to sell back and train summoning higher, but they are stuck with it. ------- Im now high summoning despite all of those problems. NOW WHAT? - Am i going to have a rakoon following me around so i can stroke it? - Am i going to spend hundreds of millions of GP so my npc can spec a 19? - Am i going to "rain" cod? COD?? - My giant Ent is going to make oak logs. YAY for my 300M spent! Why not give us what we pay and keep your company running for? Why scam us again and again? Quote: 18-Jan-2008 03:19:51 Last edited on 18-Jan-2008 23:34:17 by Ice Giant 99 IF YOU THINK THE SPECIAL EFFECTS WILL NEGATE THE COSTS: IBIS: level 56 required. [Fishing boost (3) - invisible Counts as a harpoon for catching tuna and swordfish Forager (5) - stores fish it catches] COSTS Spirit shardx 109. ->You will spend 5K to catch a swordfish.<- Verdict: So we should spent millions so we have an increased chance to catch fish? Isnt that what fishing pot is for? Getting 56 would also be enough time to raise fishing enough to be greater than the summoning special. ENT: 78 required [Fights (Level 91) Forager (10) - produces oak logs Nature link - can convert pure essence into nature or earth runes Acorn Missile] COSTS Spirit shardx 94 -> You will spend 4700 to produce oak log <- Verdict: So we will spend literally tens of millions of dollars to craft natures? Cant we do that already if we have the runecrafting level? Even if a high rollar did get summoning that high, there would be no point fishing then would they? --- WHAT ABOUT HUNTER? No lie jagex literally posted that they would give hunter a boost and it would be the equivalent of mining to smithing. But they gave us a SQUIRREL. --- ---------------------------- EXPLICIT COSTS ---------------------------- I decided to go with the cheapest one for GOLD (Since thats what an average player can obtain) Granite crab: 7 shards (175 GP) 21. 6 experience per crab. 13M experience means: 600k iron ores and gold charms (irons est 90 each) = 54M Shards = 105M Total comes to 159M roughly. 600k gold charms which is IMPOSSIBLE (max gold charms per hour is 100 (maxed bonus' + cannon) maybe 200 with ice barrage. Thats 6000 hours or 250 full days. About 2-3 years LITERALLY depending on how much of your life you play. --- Me as a player: I am a runescape veteran i have been playing for 6 years. 99 str, 99 atack, 99 defence, 99 hp, 99 prayer 40 summoning.

People miss the point really. Summoning adds a whole new dynamic to the game. However, these people b***h because they only focus on the cost, and their need to get a skill to 99.
It would be cool if they let you make charms through RC. Charms do seem to be in the same place runes were before they released RC. Hard to get. The thing is, the skill is new. After playing for a while, people will have a nice stock of charms. However, people are just too impatient and want to race to 99 like a bunch of ******** n00bs. Their problem.

Ah, Air. You always make everythinng seem so simple... in an extremely complex way. sweatdrop No idea how that works...
My Summoning is 8. Whoop de doo! But hey I don't give a crap... I reckon I'll get a hella lot of levels from Juna, until I can be bothered to spend more moneys on it. Oh and I must ask... Before RC, how did you get runes? Was it only from drops and shops and so on?

Bleh. So were runes way more expensive and so forth?
