She was, surprised, at what he had to say and what he had seen. Horses that could swim? She thought all horses could swim, where there others out there that could swim better then the she thought? It was a strong possibility that there were. Glancing to the skies, she liked the idea that he liked to fly, she did as well... When it wasn't blistering cold out and she didn't have to use her wings to keep warm, looking at Axel, she gained the idea of what his 'coat' was for, to keep himself warmer.
An added bonus to him in the winter. she thought dryly as she hated the cold most the time, when it was carried on a harsh wind.
"I've only really explored the mountains where I had called home." She nodded finally, "And then there was this place, where I met you. That's about all." Shrugging gently she thought back about how he said he liked to fly, a lot. "I love to fly, my family on one side say that we are a sky dancing family, even if my mother, brother and her side of the family don't really have wings. Sky dancing is fun, but I'm still learned and not very graceful." She flinched remembering where she nearly drove herself into the ground before her grandfather could right her. "That and you've seen my landings, they are much more less then graceful, sometimes I can land well, other times, I crash and burn."
Inside she was laughing to herself, even if it only showed as small sparks in her eyes. She did wish she could fly better, but as she was always told, she was still young and learning. She just had to practice and soon she would be landing like the best of them... She hoped. But she wasn't about to bore Axel with her sob stories about herself, she wanted to know more about the stranger parts of the land, and more importantly, where he had originally came from.

Axel shrugged once more and wondered what made him change... Oh. Wica, what a silly thought. "I see. I've had... a lot of free time on my hands. I don't have any family, not ones that I'm incredibly attached to. They're just my friends and sometimes I will stay in their teepee but I'm not too close to them..." He sort of felt sorry for Chitsa and Aurorealis. They were so kind to him yet he didn't give a care for them at all. "I'm sure you're fine. Like I said before, you hardly give yourself enough credit."
Pausing, Axel seemed deep in thought when there really was nothing on his mind. He wondered what Chitsa would think if he took Wica to meet her. They basically were as close to his family as it got...

Wica gave Axel a playful glare as they walked, though it wasn't serious, she did shrug afterwards. Perhaps she didn't, but she was still learning, she had lots to learn now that she was starting something different in her life. She had someone looking out for her, someone that wasn't blood related.
"Perhaps your right." She agreed "Having a lot of time on ones hooves is a bit boring ain't it? I mean, just wandering aimlessly to only lay under a tree or something at night then just continue wandering at the next dawn? Not that I could complain, I could wander I if I had to and had someone to wander with." Wica smiled turning her head skyward.
"But right now, I'm bored." she grinned even wider reaching over to tug at his fiery red name gently and soon trotted a head of him, her long tail picking itself off the snow and muddy ground. "Catch me if you can!" She called back, her ears turning back to listen to see if he would follow her, her wings still folded to her sides.

Axel nodded and browsed through his memories about the places he had visited. "Very boring. So, to break my monotony, I like to fly and travel to places that I've never seen. But I think... I've basically exhausted that resource. Raising a brow as he felt her tug on his mane, Axel stared at her curiously wondering what she was doing.
He would have never done this before he met her... Axel hesitated for a second and then shook his head and he took off after her. The stallion was a pretty fast runner so he tried to stay on her tail and made sure he wouldn't lose sight of her.

Ears turning back just a bit more, she listened to his hooves behind her. The easy trot she had started out with, picked up to a nearly full out gallop forward. Throwing her head back, a string of laughter erupted from her as she went. Eyes stinging a bit from the tears that had come to her unexpectedly. Onward she charged, dodging between what ever it was that got into her way.
Behind her, her tail and mane whipped to and fro, ever looking like banners from some forgotten kingdom of old. White flags, ones that most assuredly meant surrender, but she wasn't surrendering. Not just yet, not ever if she had her way about it. Though there was one thing she would surrender to, someone who could beat her at her own games. Turning her head to spy behind her, Wica kept an eye on Axel as well as an eye on where she was going as to not run into anything...
"Some fun, Huh?" she shouted atop the roaring winds that screamed with in her ears.

Axel continued to follow behind her and made no move to try and catch up with her. As long as he could see her... Something made him feel uneasy but he shrugged it off as the wind. He wasn't very fond of running or really exercising in general besides flying but he didn't mind this. As long as she was enjoying herself... That's all that mattered at the moment. He didn't reply to her when she called back but it was a pretty self-explanatory answer.

Keeping up her pace, she couldn't seem to stand being on the ground too much longer. Shaking her head, letting her long mane ruffle over her shoulders, before her wings snapped open to her sides. Unleashing a small fluffy of feathers, ones that had come loose and soon she was airborne with a simple glide of her wings. Leaving the ground below her, she let her front hooves pull in close to her chest and her hind hooves stretch out behind her.
Riding upon a warm thermal she grained height quickly before she tipped a wing and turned in a lazy circle. It all seemed in slow motion as she looked back toward the ground, to where she had left Axel a moment before, her heart racing from the run, but it soared now as she looped around, to soon dive a bit with her front legs now stretched out. All this time it was just an easy glide without a single wing beat before she escaped the thermal and she was forced to work to keep herself aloft.
Hovering, she watched the ground, watched where she had last seen the streak of fiery red mane. Tilting her head silently off to the side she turned again and spiraled higher to where she dipped and looped, in some cases it looked like she was dancing, dancing without even touching the ground.
Come join me Wica thought as her gaze turned toward the ground again, wondering where he had gone, has she lost him? If she had, it wasn't on purpose.
"Axel?" she called setting at a lazy glide toward the tree tops, before hovering again. "Oh I hope I didn't lose you." She muttered in worry...

Axel continued to follow her through the trees but he wasn't so worried about hitting anything. He was pretty light on his feet despite the extra weight added by the large coat he was wearing. Staring at her wings, Axel wondered if she was going to take to the air. Didn't I tell her I didn't want to fly today... He muttered something inaudible to himself as she lifted off of the ground. Throwing his wings open in response, Axel took to the air also. This time, he didn't stay behind her but forced his wings to move fast enough so that he was by her side this time. He glared at her rather playfully and watched her dance in the air. She looked so beautiful...
"Of course you didn't lose me silly. I'm not that naive." Axel grinned mischievously and continued to fly by her side. "You're such a strange mare, Wica." He continued to grin but he was looking at the sky ahead of them.

Head turning to the side, she watched him advance to where he was at her side. A smile came to her as she locked into another glide before rising again, she was very strange indeed to the eye of the beholder and very uncivilized to others. But she was still a foal to heart and didn't seem to know when to grow up. Glancing over toward Axel again she couldn't help, but give a smile.
"Aren't we both strange?" she pondered playfully as she dipped a wing downwards a little to swing gracefully around and pop up on his other side. "Sorry to have dragged you up here, I know you hadn't wanted to fly, but I my heart told me to soar, and that's what I did." She grinned, "It's always an urge I can't resist."
Turning her head forward, Wica looked off toward the ever distant Horizon, wondering what lay beyond it, If anything. Lost within her thoughts, she barely noticed that with each wing beat her feather tips burst against his his own, within her eyes a sort of dreamy look could be found as she pondered over things she heard in fairy tales, and stories.
"You are my strange stallion, Axel." She bluntly spouted out, as an eye turned toward him, her own dark ears twitching as if she hadn't heard her own voice. "My knight in armor that may not shine in perfect brilliance, but it what lyes beneath that matters more then what's on the outside."

Axel nodded at her still not used to smiling so much. Grinning and smirking came so much more naturally to him. He kept his brilliant emerald eyes on her as she spoke. At least there was nothing to run into up here. "That's true. You're a very strange mare. And I'm probably a very strange stallion. It pretty much goes hand in hand." The stallion paused and tried to smile once more. "As long as you're happy..." That was all he wanted and if she was happy, so was he.
He watched her rather thoughtfully as she looked into the distance. He wished he could understand what she was thinking about. Usually he could guess about others but she was just so... different. He loved that about her. Tilting his head curiously, Axel wasn't used to being complimented like that. "You give me too much credit..." His voice disappeared with the wind as they continued to soar through the sky.

"oh come now, you deserve more credit then you possibly have been given before. I've been considered too young for my age by too many other Soquili. Saying that I would never grow out of it, perhaps they're right, but still. Underneath that armor you are a handsome stallion awaiting for the right one to bring you out of hiding." Wica nodded as she found a comforting current to just glide within.
A well of giggles has bunched up in her throat just awaiting to be released, but she swallowed them back down, thinking that perhaps she had giggled too much already. Her mind traveled back to the days she pestered her brother because he didn't have wings like she did, but he was always so happy about it. Dipping to the side, she placed herself into an easy spiraling decline toward the ground, and toward a pool that shown like a sheet of ice from the skies. It was here that the snow was just about gone and green flourished plentifully.
"I'm always happy. Always happy at the thought that I have many I can talk to, but one I can truly love that isn't of my family." She blushed lightly as her hooves touched the ground and she paced forward a step or two to make room for him to land.

Axel shrugged even while he was flying. "I don't know. Like I've said a thousand and one times, you don't seem to see yourself very clearly and who cares what others say about you. As long as you're happy with yourself, that's all that I care about and that's all you should care about." Axel kept looking forward even when he was speaking to her and he still didn't know how to take her compliments so he replied with silence.
He glanced at her out of the corner of his eyes and continued to wonder what she was thinking about. His curiosity was beginning to win. "Well, that's good but you know, if you ever want to leave or if you ever fall in love with somebody else... that's fine too..." Axel wanted to just say that in the open because he knew he wasn't good enough for her. In his mind, he thought he wasn't good enough for anybody to love and he definitely wasn't worth her time.
Axel slowly descended beside her and landed next to her with a rather graceful landing.

"And so you must keep reminding me as I keep forgetting." She giggled as her wings adjusted themselves to her sides. "I don't think there's another that could steal mine eye like you have, nor will any other." She said bluntly to his statements about her leaving him.
Heading toward the pool that they had landed beside, she lowered her head to the mirrored surface, barely touching it sent ripples across it. Her long hair pilling up at her side as drank. Her mind wondering why he always said that if she found another, she wouldn't leave him. She wasn't one to bounce between stallions like some whore, she had her pride. She was a one stallion mare and no others would sway her opinions on who she had chosen.
"Axel, I know you don't think that you are right for me and that I should possibly find another stallion, but I have chosen the one that something has drawn me to." She spoke softly lifting her still dripping muzzle from the pool. "Something lead me to you, I don't know what it is or why it did it." She paused to try and collect her scattered thoughts. "Whether you like it or not, I'm staying here, with you. I would feel like a lost soul if I did other wise." She pouted turning toward him, "Very lost."

He nodded rather solemnly and looked at his reflection in the pool of water. He definitely didn't think he was healthy for her and it was just bad all around. Though, if she wanted him, he would never leave her as long as it made her happy. That was all that was keeping him around. He could live if she found another stallion and was happy. Axel was just worried that he wouldn't be able to make her happy and fulfill her needs. He was just insecure like that because this was the first time he had to care about someone else other than himself.
Axel watched her as she stood next to the pool. "I'm just saying. The option's there and you don't have to feel obliged to stay with me. Just as long as you're happy, I could live with you being with somebody else." He paused and shrugged slightly, "And that's my piece about it. You know how I feel now." He just stood there at the edge of the pool, gazing thoughtfully at his reflection. He definitely wasn't right for her...

She just watched him, flinching as he spoke of her not being obligated to being there with him. That wasn't the case with her, she was there because she wanted to be, she had met other stallions, but only saw them as friends, being that a couple had mates of their own somewhere. Ears turned back, she glanced down at the pool and toward his reflection, wondering what it was that kept him from seeing the shine beneath the rusty exterior.
"Obligation or not, I'm here because I want to be. But I have to ask you and there's no getting around it. Are you happy that I'm here?" she asked in a somewhat quiet tone.
She watched his reflection before stepping forward a little and placing a blue feathered hoof into the pool, making the refection ripple. She stared at her own reflection for a moment before glancing back at his, measuring how they looked against each other in color, she thought that the colors blended well together, making her look prettier then she had thought before.
"Because you always saw, 'as long as you're happy'. I am happy, but are you? I can't help, but wonder if my being here isn't somehow a burden to you. I wish not to be, I wish to be someone you can talk to openly, as I talk to you most openly." She pouted a little as she pulled back from the pool to watch him, her ears perching up to listen for his answer.
