Chibibar I must admit I do have a level 70 BM hunter. If you are an Ice Mage then you are not doing things right and let the pet kill you. First of all, the pet will only exist if the hunter exist wink so... the trick is to take out the hunter. Arcane explosion is nice since you can get TWO birds with one stone (if you have enough mana) As an Ice mage, you could have done a couple of things, Change your tactics against BM hunters 1. Use Frost nova, stop the pet in its track and then run up to the hunter and use either arcane explosion, or even frost bolt. 2. Use Ice Barrier (if you have it that far) to curb the damage from either attack. Make sure you use frost nova to keep the pet in check and just blast the hunter. 3. If the hunter use "The Beast Within" you can use ice block and ignore the damage while the buff wears out (last 18 seconds) Ice block only last 10 seconds but then you can hit frost nova to freeze in place or hit cold Snap and block again. 4. You can also put up another ice barrier between that time again. and guess what? dead hunter. I PvP with my hunter in BG and usually ice mage defeats me (sometimes more like 50/50) because of some of the combination above. The ice barrier is a very nice spell to have. smile BM hunters are not lazy (well some might be in your opinion) but you would need to adapt your tactics and beat your enemy. Just purely spamming a spell or two will not guarantee a win. 1.BM Pet;s = Frost Nova immuninty 2. Pet buffs = break my barrier is 5 hits (30 sec CD) 3. Cold Snap = Hypothermia 4. Smart playesr won't fight the opponents pets

The Mule Of Max chrono911 Chibibar A smart player don't fight pets... a smart player fight the character that control the pet smile then the pet goes away. A lot of experience PvPer always attack me and not my pet. that is my weakness smile
When i duel hunters, Arena them, or fight them in BGs i go straight to them using dots and drain life. The pet isnt a problem unless people are trying to cast long things.You should stop complaining about hunters if you don't know how to beat them. Always try to immediately fear the pet. If you have instant howl of terror talent, you get near the hunter if you can and use howl of terror to fear them both. Then you DoT up the hunter. But you have to try and remove the pet from the battle ASAP, it's half of the hunter's DPS.
But yes, when i was affliction with inst HoT i used that mainly for hunters, and warrs who juked me. But im SL/SL for Arena atm

Eh, most 25 man raiding guilds only use BM hunters, along with the obvious SV one depending on your amount of melee dps.
BM hunters get into BT raiding guilds by sending their pet in and using stings?!
Who uses stings in raiding??? Scorpid sting, maybe on a boss, Viper sting is pointless because most bosses with mana have waaaaay too much to be burned. And serpent sting isn't worth the mana compared to a steady shot, not to mention disrupting our rotation
ALSO, when i raid, i send my pet in, put on auto shot and go get a drink, and when when i come back i have double everyone elses dps. Trufact.

How to beat a BM Hunter in PvP as a frost Mage in a 1v1 situation:
1. Frost Nova him in place.
2. Ice lance spam.
When Hunter pops BW:
1a. Break LoS. Keep running.
2a. Blink away. Put some distance between you.
3a. Ice block BW is on a three minute cool down.
4a. Repeat steps 1 and 2, using cold snap as needed. Maybe even go three minute Mage on his a**.
3. Profit.
Note1: Blink will take you out of Intimidation stun.
Note2: Ice Lance + Spell Damage + Shatter = Instant Win

having two 70 hunters, one in SSC, i have to say that hunters are often expected to do waaay more than just pew pew mew mew. we are the oh s**t button for CC, we are constantly ready with distracting shot to yank a stray mob off a person more squishy than us, and are generally responsible for handling nightmarish caster pulls even when we dont have silent shot due to the BM tree.
all i have to say is that they are easy to play hard to master, go give it a shot before you assume you know everything about them.

I don't really have a bone to pick with BM hunters. When I was playing in the real game, I didn't mind the fact that Hunters beat me in PvP and they brag their "pwness" to me.
When it comes to PvE/Group time. I know I get my revenge. wink
|

There are many ways to beat another class smile I have many classes beat my poor BM hunters in PvP smile but if I play smart I can counter that also.
Every class has their specialty, but WoW is popular because it is easy to play and yet hard to master (9 million subscribers can't be wrong wink ) you be surprise how much you can learn by rolling another character. I have play all classes except druids so far (ran out of slots on my server) because I like to mix class/race combo.. some have better synergy than others.

my bro runs a BM hunter, and yeah they r retardedly cheap in pvp (although i can beat em from time to time) i jus know that as a rogue in pve i can cream em in dps, and on my warr well... hes my pvp guy so i might beat em with him..

Every class has a counter, learn to deal with it. Just because one BM hunter pwned you doesn't mean all of them are automatically noobs. By the way, the other two specs are in need of some improvement. Marksman abilities don't scale with gear, and to be decent as survival, you need at least 500+ agility. Before burning crusade, I was marks/survival, and I leveled to 60 that way. I respec'd beast mastery so that I would be better for the expansion content. Like Chicken Warrior said, we are expected to do a lot of things when in groups, that aren't the easiest. Sure, it's a popular class, which means there are a lot of idiots in it, but that doesn't mean that every single player is one. Maybe you should try playing a hunter in a group setting and see for yourself. FYI, I could also say that every other class is lazy for killing my holy priest really easily, but that's just stupid as hell. NERF EVERYONE. OMG. Edit: This just made me think of the mage keyboard:

RivFador bm spec is the laziest spec in the game, they make their pet do everything. I'm a level 66 frost mage and I go help my friend out with a 65 hunter. Usually i just go in and spam ice lance and arcane explosion but no, this was a bm hunter who made his pet stun me and basically solo me, all the hunter did was control him and sting me, bm hunters are lazy noobs.

uninstall WoW and never play again. I am also a BM spec hunter. We happen to be a high dps spec that is awesome in raids. Ice mages on the other hand are not awesome in raids, spec fire you turtling noob, maybe you'll suck less. (BTW i dueled a ret pally when we where both lvl 56 without my pet, i still beat him and he used LoH and his pally bubble. L2P.)
Why is it every time a big red kitty eats someones face off they call hunters OP. I've seen demo warlocks have their FelGuard do everything I don't see nearly as many 'Nerf locks thay iz OP cuz i suk' threads. Methinks you don't know how do beat a hunter so you complain about them.

Sure it we tank our pet, thats what it is for! we've abandoned any extra strength Survival could have given us, and the extra shot moves MM gets. Our pet is our life line, if they go down, we go down.
I have a caster pet, stacked out to take down mages and other caster classes, so i do get alot of noobish s**t from from the people i kill. but i am far from All powerful. a hunter relies on range, all you have to do is get up in our face! and then people complain about our freeze trap, that only lasts IF we don't attack you, so its not this super move that pwns all like people chalk it up to be.
another stupid thing i get from BGs are people complaining about Feign death.
wtf!?
The only thing that does in a BG is send another hunters pet away form me. its not like a look dead to other players, they see my pet is still alive, and i have a damn health bar over my head, i don't see how thats something to complain about.
If a BM hunter totally slaughters you, you don't know how to counter them well, which isn't that hard, like it was just explained. BMs get their bad reputation form people who don't know how to counter them and then b***h about it.
oh and on the 3 buttons comment - how do you think our pet is staying alive? sure i may only use 3 kinds of shots, but i'm flying all over my pet action bar and my pet buffs, we don't just sit there and click arcane shot over and over.

You're a ******** idiot alltogether... ret paladin yuo dueled was OBVIOUSLY a noob... no BM hunter could kill another player, their level without their pet, all a bm hunter does is send in their pet and throw in a sting or two, and debuff.... On top of that, you're alliance, probably why you got all upset and say things like L2P and called me an "ice" mage... GTFO and re spec
