Agents of Chaos I: Hero's Trial by James Luceno

Book Four of the New Jedi Order

didnt' really like this book, but its mainly about Han which compensates for his absense in the previous duology. Also. the C3P0 /R2D2 action is so cool, just like in the OT

Summary: K, the Vong take the library world of Obroa-skai and decide to send the priestes Elan and her familiar(pet thing) Vergere to fake defection and intoduce a bioweapon on the Jedi. Han meets up with an old friend named Roa who tells him about an old smuggleer named Reck Desh who leads the Peace Brigade, who give people to the Vong as sacrifices. They go to Ord Mantell to find Reck, and they get attacked by the Vong, Roa is lost, the New Republic fleet shows up, Han meets a Ryn named Droma, a fellow spacer, and they end up on the Queen of Empire bound for Coruscant. It just so happens that Elan and Vergere are onboard the Queen of Empire, and the Peace Brigade takes the ship hostage to try and deeliver the "defectors" to the Vong. A battle ensues, the Vong show up, the Republic shows up, and Elan issues a bioweapon that kills a buncha people including Reck Desh, and she dies herself. Vergere leaves a bulb of her tears onboard the ship before jettosining in an escape pod to find her people. The tears cure Mara's illness, at least temporarily. Droma suspects that Vergere is not an extragalactic, because he has seen her species before ( Vergere isn't a Vong)

Agents of Chaos II: Jedi Eclipse by James Luceno

Book Five of the NJO series

..dissapointing book, really. the title has no real meaning...i dont even know why they bothered to make it a duology...pathetic

Summary: Leia goes to the Hapes Consortium to ask for aid...they give it.
Wurth Skidder is caught by the Vong and sent onboard a yammosk(war coordinator) ship. Anakin and Jacen go to reenable Centerpoint Station and its interdiction field. Han goes to find Droma's clanmates, Droma gets arrested, Han goes to bail him out, then goes to the yammosk ship, finds Roa, gets him, and finds Skidder, who dies, and then the yammosk dies someweere in the process. The Vong show up at Fondor, the Hapan fleet moves in, Anakin knows that he is able to fire the Centerpoint Station without Hapan loss, but Jacen tells him not to use it as a weapon, only a shield, so he backs off. Tatooine Ghost by Troy Denning

Wow. I took a break from the NJO to read this....its breathtaking...absolutely amazing. Troy Denning is now among my fave SW authors...

Summary: Taking place a few months after The Courtship of Princess Leia, Tatooine Ghost starts off with Leia resolving to never have kids, and Han to never go back to the New Republic. They're on a vacation to Tatooine w/ Threepio and Chewie to buy a moss-painting called Kilik Twilight that once hung in the palace of Alderaan. Eventally, Han finds out that the painting contains a secret Republic code and the Imperials show up on Tatooine. So, anyway Kitster Banai(friend of Anakin Skywalker) ends up stealing the painting and running off to the Dune Sea with it. The Solos and Co. chase after, and the Imperials as well. On the way, Leia discovers her Grandmother's diary, giving her a new light on her father, whom she always new as Darth Vader, never Anakin Skywalker. Anyways, they find Kitster, recover the code, and then the Imps get the painting. Oh and the ISD barracading the planet is the Chimera, and the whole time, theres talk of a new Admiral *cough Thrawn cough*

I, Jedi by Michael A. Stackpole

Very cool book, you need to read it to enjoy it. Mike Stackpole proves himself yet again.

Summary: At the beggining of the book, Corran Horn learns that his wife Mirax has dissapeared. Luke Skywalker realizes that Corran has Jedi potential and that Corran must Jedi-fy himself to save Mirax. Corran attends the academy under the name of Kieran Halcyon, a Jedi ancestor of his. He trains and stuff, and the first half retells the events of the Jedi Academy trilogy through kieran's eyes. Then, he leaves the academy, and infiltrates the Invids, an ex-Imperial faction that has Mirax. Along the way he encounters the uh... Jeesarai or somethin like that, a group of Force Users that use both Sith and Jedi traditions. Oh, and he saves Elegos A'kla(poor guy dies in the NJO). THen in the end, he saves Mirax, and all is good and well.

Balance Point by kathy Tyers

Book Six of the NJO

Eh..this was kinda boring, but I'm sure itll play a big part later on. Focused mainly on the Skywalker/Solo clan, with some guest appearances bny Randa the Hutt and the Ryn.

Story: Okay, it starts off with Jaina going EV during a battle, and getting totally jacked up, and losing vision temporarily. Everyone else is on Duro, a Core planet where the Refugees are being sent, and theyre helping the refugees. Jaina gets sent over there to recover. Jacen has some funky visions and decides to stop using the Force completely. Some antics ensue.

Then, Mara and Jaina discover that Nom Anor is on Duro, and that he is a Vong(uhh.duuh!). The Vong start attacking, and some crap goes on, Borsk Fey'lya denies reinforcments, Leia is captured by the Vong, and Jacen goes to save her, using the Force in the process. Oh yeah, and Anakin is the badass guy he always was(poor guys' days are limited).

Oh and also, Mara discovers shes pregnant(with luke's baby of course) and tells noone but Luke. And she gets a new ship, Jade Shadow

Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover

In about a month the goings on of this movie are gonna be common knoledge, so im not gonna post the story here.

Matt Stover did a GREAT job with this book. The only downside was that the first 100 pgs were booring with Ani and Obi just flyin around rather aimlessly.

Matt Stover does incredible descriptive work, so much so that a whole page could be just description. I also liked the way he blended standard 3rd person POV with a cool 2nd person POV at times.

Very cool.

Edge of Victory I: Conquest by Gregory Keyes

Book Seven of the NJO

Mm...buttery goodness. This was a great book, really well written, and..yeah it was awesome.

Story: Warmaster Tsavong Lah has declared that if the Jedi are brought to him, Jacen Solo, especially, the Yuuzhan Vong invasion stops with Duro. Jedi everywhere, including Dorsk 82, are slaughtered by Peace Brigade, and civilians hoping to stop the invasion. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker calls a meeting on Coruscant to adress the problem, but the meeting is cut short when Kyp DUrron leaves, due to a dissagreement between Jedi Doctrine. The Solo children suddenly realize that the Jedi Praxeum, on the world of Yavin IV, is in great danger, and bring the topic to Luke and Mara. Luke arranges for Talon Karrde to rescue the Jedi Children, and place the academy onboard Booster Terrik's Errant Venture . The Solo children find out that Mara is pregnant around this time. Uncontent with the fact that Karrde is being sent, and could take a long time, Anakin Solo takes his X-Wing to the Yavin system, where he finds Peace Brigade insystem. He quickly lands, warning the Academy of the threat above. Jedi Knights Tionne and Kam Solusar take the children to hide while waiting for Karrde, and Anakin and Jedi Master Ikrit attempt to fend the attack off. Along the way, Tahiri, Anakin's best friend, comes along, as well as Valin Horn, son of Corran Horn, and a Melodie named Sannah. As the Vong descend on Yavin, Ikirit is killed, and Tahiri is taken captive. On Coruscant, Luke knows what has happened and goes to Chief of State Borskk Fey'lya for reinforcments, but is denied. Mara then sends Jaina and Jacen to find Booster Terrik, flying Jade Shadow . Back on Yavin, Anakin leaves Valin and Sannah with a peace brigader whose ship they took, and bound the brigader. Anakin goes off to find Tahiri, and finds that the Massasi Temples, including the Great Temple, have been erradicated. Anakin is discovered by a Yuuzhan VOng, named Vua Rapuung, who wants revenge on the Vong for some reason. The two travel to infiltrate the Vong base, and Anakin learns more about the Vong, such as the castes. There are the Shapers, who are the equivalent of bioengineers, whom Tahiri has been taken to, and the Shamed Ones, who are reduced to menial labor that no one else will do, because their bodies reject scarrring and Vong implants. ANakin learns that Vua was once a great warrior, but when he rejected the love of a Shaper, she did something to him to make him appear as a Shamed One. They infiltrate the Vong base, and Anakin finally realises the Vong as people. Meanwhile, Tahiri is being brainwashed by the Shapers, particularly the one whom Vua seeks revenge against, into believing that she is a Yuuzhan Vong. Finally, Anakin and Vua reach Tahiri, and Vua exposes the Shaper who degraded him, and Tahiri, turned back from her brainwased memories by Anakin, decapitates the Shaper who degraded Vua. Dying Vua fends off the Vong so Tahiri and Anakin can escape. They fly out of system, and Booster Terrik finally arives, and the entire Jedi Praxeum is transfered onboard Errant Venture .

Edge of Victory II: Rebirth by Gregory Keyes

Book 8 of the NJO

3/5 Lightsabers.

THis was an okay book, a bit bland after the action packed volume before it.

Story: Chief of State Borsk Fey'lya puts a warrant out for Mara and Luke's arrest. Mara discovers that the disease has come back and if she keeps taking the synthisized Vergere's tears, the child and she will die. They escape Coruscant to Booster Terrik's Errant Venture . Anakin is getting bored cooped up on deck of the Venture so he Corran, and Tahiri go down to a planet for supplies. There, Corran goes off and Anakin and Tahiri wait at the ship, until they feel a Jedi in trouble through the Force. They go out to find him, and the Jedi is murdered by Peace Brigade. His last words are "Yag'Duhl" Anakin and Tahiri are taken into custody, but they bust out, and the trio make a jump Coreward...to Yag'Duhl. Meanwhile, Jaina finds Kyp out by Sernpidal, and he reveals to her and the Rogues, as well a** Wedge Antilles that the VOng are growing a gravatic superweapon, and so they set out to Destroy it. All the while, Han, Leia and Jacen are out setting up Luke's "River" system, a series of havens for Jedi (Underground Railroad for Jedi). Anyways, At Yag'Dhul the Givin, the native people, turn out to be Vong sympathizers and Nom Anor in a masquer, and they depresurize the room. Since Corran had the only Vac-Suit, Anakin and Tahiri get in a locker where they share their first kiss, and then make out to pass the time till Corran shows up to bail them out. Oh and they find out that the Shamed Ones now have a legend that the Jedi are their saviors. Hokay so, at Sernpidal, the Rogues and Kyp's Dozen destroy the superweapon, only to find out that Kyp tricked them into destroying a Vong worldship, hurting the VOng but killing Civilians in the process. Mara has the baby, gets rid of the disease, and they name the kid Ben.

Damn, now I have to read Star by Star, a humongous 600 page book in which Anakin Solo DIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. He was the coolest Solo kid and my favorite EU character. DAMN Lucasbooks!!!!

Star by Star by Troy Denning

Book Nine of the NJO

5/5 Lightsabers

This is a sad, sad book. This is sadder than Revenge of the Sith....picture Coruscant, the heart of the Republic, dead as Geonosis. It happens.

Story: The Yuuzhan Vong have a deadly new weapon. They are Jedi hunters and killers, brutal as ever, and they are known as voxyn. After much analysis, Cilghal, the Mon Calimari Jedi Master, disccovers that the beasts are part vornskr, and are on Myrkr, being cloned from a single queen voxyn. Reluctantly, Luke agrees to send a strike team to Myrkr to destroy the queen, the team being lead by Anakin Solo and his twin siblings. Meanwhile, the Vong take the planet of Talfalgion hostage, declaring that they will destroy the planet if the Jedi base is not revealed. Also, Viqi Shesh, the Kuati senator who has been conspiring with the Vong since before Duro, and the Vong decide to assasinate Chief of State Borsk Fey'lya so that Viqi can ascend to the position instead. Fey'lya calls for a Vong emmisary, so they send Nom Anor. In a crazy move in attempt to save himself on a political front, Fey'lya suddenly allies with the Jedi and holds Nom Anor hostage, claiming he will hold him hostage just as Talfalgion is being held. Meanwhile, the Vong continue moving forward, taking Arkania and Borealis, and decide to take Coruscant. Nom Anor escapes from New Republic hostageship, and the assination on Fey'lya fails. Warmaster Tsavong Lah sends Nom Anor and Vergere to Myrkr to bring the Solo Twins to appease the gods and in return, the gods will give the Vong Coruscant. The strike team has much hardship, and lose many Jedi, in the end losing Anakin Solo himself, who sacrifices himself to save the others. Enraged by the death of her brother, jaina begins to use the Dark Side, including Force Lighting. Vergere suddenly turnscoat and helps them out, only to betray them, and kidnap Jacen and take him away. The Jedi Strike team reluctantly leaves. Meanwhile, the Vong attack Coruscant, and after much fighting, Viqi Shesh gets away, Fey'lya goes suicide bomber, and Coruscant falls. Now, the Republic is dead along with Anakin, Jacen is missing, and Jaina is on her way to the Dark Side.

What will happen next? Read Dark Journey to find out!( or wait for me to do it and get the story from here)
