(*secretly dashes in like a ninja* Hello everyone! :3)

A groan of annoyance and misery came from a mostly black and blue little kuniku clinging to the high branches of a tree. Her fluffy fur was pressed against her small but slightly chubby frame, and a scowl was on her face. THIS STORM SUCKED. There are some other kuniku down there... she thought to herself from her perch, shivering as her small form was drenched by the heavy rainfall. Sazanami ducked her head between her dual-colored wings, hoping to shield herself from the pouring rain.

She had been watching the other kuniku and Inari for a while now, and although she couldn't tell what they were saying over the loud roars of the sea combined with the deafening thunder and the howling of the wind, she figured that they were trying to head inland to shelter. Sazanami had only recently arrived to Honshu from Hokkaido, but already at such a young age she was learning the cruelty of the Oni Lord. I must be unlucky. A bad storm came when I just got here... Sazanami was about to let out a sigh of frustration when lightening flashed dangerously close to her tree. The young kuniku yipped in surprise and flinched rather violently.

Unfortunately, her startled nature caused Sazanami to fall out of the tree she had previously been taking shelter in. "Oof!" She cried out as her small body plopped into a mixture of mud and rainwater on the ground. Well, this was just fabulous! Her fur was already wet, but now it was muddy too. Sazanami sighed and then looked to the band of kuniku conversing with Inari. "I'd better go over, or else I might not make it." Sazanami began to flap her wings, combining the movement with running to make a sort of hopping motion, which kept her mostly out of the water and deep mud as she headed over to the others.

Inari watched as the Kuniku bounded toward the one called Sanyu to help her, debating whether they would need his help or not. Looks like they should be able to get her out of the open... thought maybe I should-

His thoughts were interrupted as he noticed a very small, very muddy creature half running and half flapping towards them. It was a Kuniku pup!

Well, this changes things! Inari took a deep breath. This magic was difficult and he wouldn't be able to do any more for a while after, but a Kuniku pup with its fragile bones would need protecting. It would benefit the others, too. Hopefully the rest of the Kuniku in Honshu would be able to help themselves, because he certainly had his hands full.

As his chest swelled to its maximum capacity he held it, and then expelled. A silvery substance swelled out from around him, slowly forming a large dome over the top of the small group. It would act as a shield from the elements, but not forever. They still had to find other shelter. As long as that pup comes inside she should be all right.

He turned to look at the Kuniku aiding Sanyu. "Get her into the dome now!" He called, hoping they wouldn't need his help. he had to stay fairly rooted to the spot to maintain the shield.

Sazanami manage to skid to a halt within a short walking distance of the other kuniku. She folded her wings atop her back and let them rest, tired from pulling her almost doubled body weight to the others. The rainwater had soaked through her thick fur and had been absorbed, making her a lot heavier than usual. "....." Sazanami opened her motuh to speak, but before any words could come out she sneezed. Sazanami scowled again, because she had a major distaste for Honshu's weather.

The morning after she arrived a freak storm happens and she wasn't at all used to this kind of heavy rain. She could withstand very cold temperatures in Hokkaido, but there was a huge difference between ice and water. "....." Sazanami opened her mouth again, but she quickly shut it. She didn't even know these kuniku, nor the strange little white thing that was only slightly larger than she was that was standing next to her. I probably shouldn't talk to strangers... she thought, noticing that the fur on her back had started to bristle a little from her discomfort.

Sazanami avoided eye contact with the older kuniku and the messenger and instead looked at the silver colored dome a few feet away. It was surprisingly strong even though it had been made by such a small fox. Was she suposed to get in? Sazanami figured that to be a temporary safezone was the purpose of the dome, but for just how long could Inari keep it stable? Her head cocked to the side with confusion, but she took a step forward and pushed a single paw into the bubble.

"It's warm..." she whispered, her little voice was easily carried away by the wind.

Sanyu? Masao turned when he heard her name spoken and watched the green female darting away. She was soon followed by Emil. The visibility kept changing, so that sometimes Masao could see them briefly, and then the rain would pound harder, and he could barely see his nose. He struggled with the desire to run over and help, but he didn’t know what he could actually do.

A bright dome suddenly covered them, and those within were shielded from the wind and rain. Masao seemed startled as he gazed at the white creature who had created it. He was almost more surprised to see a little baby Kuniku drag herself under the protective shield that Inari had created. The poor thing was soaked, well… everyone was, for that matter.

Masao took a few steps towards Sazanami. “Are you alright?” He asked, his gaze flickering between her and what was happening with Sanyu.

"...." Sazanami remained silent as Masao asked if she was alright. Her ears flattened against her head, but she nodded a little as a response. Sazanami lacked social skills since very few kuniku lived in Hokkaido, and now she had suddenly been thrust into a un-natural disaster with a bunch of strangers. Despite the fact that she was wet and muddy, she was for the most part okay. The mud and water had softened her landing when she had fallen out of the tree, so she wasn't injured.

Sazanami looked around at the other unknown kuniku and took a small step backwards away from them. She wasn't afraid, but she didn't trust the band of kuniku. Sazanami inwardly doubted that they would harm her, but she had only come over to them to see that at least she herself survived.

Sanyu blinked uncomfortably in the rain, surprised by Dimi and Emil rushing to help her out of no where. The others must be close by, she thought, the anguish that had been creeping back into her dimming slightly. She paused momentarily at Dimi's request; it meant she would have to let go of her sapling. Mustering up some courage, she loosened her bite on the tiny tree, trusting that the two of them, especially Emil.

The driftwood held her and they were able to finally pull her to safety between them. The high winds continued to howl, but with Dimi and Emil by her side, the pink Kuniku was able to feel protected. Letting out a shakey breath she asked,

"I'm so glad... I thought I'd get carried off into the raging skies pretty soon!" She got silent for a second, staring off to where a strange assortment of blurry colors a short distance away. "That's where we're headed, right?" Sanyu glanced sideways at them both and the group began walking.

If the situation had been one without a deadly storm, Masao would have chuckled. The little female was really quite cute. As it was, he couldn’t feel even a hint of amusement. He gave Sazanami a weak smile, his eyes worried. “Try and stay close. We’ll do our best protect you from the storm.”

There was an annoyed chirrup from beneath his hair. Sorano came out and stood on Masao’s back. He fluffed his wet feathery body, trying to get rid of the water. After hopping up and down for a moment he gave a loud twitter.

“I suggest you stay in my hair Sorano. We’ll be going back into the wind soon.” Masao murmured to the little bird, eyes squinting as he tried to see what was happening outside the dome. It wasn’t long before he saw the three Kuniku returning. Sanyu was safe. Masao sighed in relief.

Inari kept an eye on the small pup as he attempted to see the status of Sanyu and the others. It was difficult what with the lashing rain and dark clouds obscuring the sky.

The Kuniku named Masao seemed to be doing a good job of reassuring the youngling, so he focused his energies on peering throguh the storm. He heard Masao give a sigh of what sounded like relief, and that was when he spotted the three Kuniku.

Oh thankgod. The gods would never forgive me if a Kuniku died on my watch!

"All right." He said, turning to Masao. "You said we have to go inland? Do you know of any suitable shelter?"

Sazanami merely nodded to Masao's words, unsure of what to say. She glanced out through the transparent dome and saw three kuniku making their way toward the dome. Great, there's more coming... Sazanami thought with sarcasm, not liking the idea of her being with a bunch of strangers. She looked to Inari as he spoke his question, wondering exactly where they would be going. She had only a scrap of an idea what the island of Honshu was like, and she hoped that someone knew where they should go.

Masao watched the approaching three Kuniku for a time before turning to Inari. He thought back along the path he had traveled. “Yes, I do.” He frowned a little. “Further inland here are caves that we can shelter in.”

Masao only hoped it wasn’t too far to walk in this weather. “There is a stand of old oaks we can rest in along the way.” He paused, looking over the interesting creature who had such an amzing power. “Do you know how long the storm will last?”

Inari listened intently to Masao's words. Caves! Those would be the perfect shelter, if they went deep enough. Even if they didn't, they'd at least be shielded from some of the rain and wind.

"The storm should be over by tomorrow morning... it's difficult to tell. But even the Oni Lord shouldn't have enough power to keep a storm over the entire island for more than a day." He answered.
"Once we check Sanyu and those other two for wounds, you lead us to the caves. Once we starting moving I won't be able to maintain this shield though, so you better hope you're right!"

((OOC- Hope it's cool that Emil actually... helps a little for once.))

Emil braced his legs against the strong winds and Sanyu's weight as he helped Dimi pull her to safety.
"I would never let that happen to you," Emil replied to her with wide eyes. He shook his head a little. "And yes, that's where we're going. There are quite a few others over there. Sovann and Masao and Tithe and Shimo are all safe. And there's someone else... this messenger of the Gods! He's a bit hard to describe, but I guess you'll probably know him when you see him."

He could see them now, standing there huddled up against the storm. And there was a glowing ball in their midst, like the white puff of a dandelion, only lit up.

He quickened his pace as their small group finally got close to the others.
"No injuries here!" he said, with a bit of his normal cheer. Then he stopped and pulled a face.
"Erm... there aren't, are there?" he asked, turning back to look at Dimi and Sanyu.

Shimyake stood slightly aggravated, and partly deep in thought. He needed to figure out a strategy- or at least he felt as if he did- and too many things were popping into his mind to think clearly. He knew two things though; they needed to find any other kuniku and they needed to find shelter. His red eyes were searching the murky black for any sign of life but the wind and rain made it almost impossible. He settled for listen to the little fox- who apparently was the messenger of the Gods- as he explained that the storm was definitely unnatural.

Dimi and Emil disappeared into the sheet of rain, seeing one of their comrades and going to help bring her here. That was good, at least they seemed to have the entire party with them. But what of other kuniku who lived here? Have they already gotten to safety? As if to answer his unspoken thoughts, a muddy and drenched pup came into view. She seemed shy, or didn’t think it safe here but Masao was trying to comfort her. Inari, put up a protective bubble, shining against the bleak outside and everyone took heart in the temporary relief from the rain. Shimoyake shook out his coat unconsciously, not minding being wet, but the extra weight was starting to bug him. Shaking his head so his now flattened spiky hair was out of his eyes, he caught the plan to move inland.

“I think I’ve seen those caves. Their deep enough to protect us from this, but we might want to hurry, else other being beat up to them.”

Sazanami sighed and took a seat on the floor of Inari's protective shield, looking at the group of assembled kuniku. We're going to caves? she thought, wondering if the caves in Honshu were anything like the snow caves she had slept in back when she was still in Hokkaido.

"I can walk, so nobody needs to carry me or anything..." She said, being careful not to make specific eye contact with any of the other kuniku. Since they had no leader, she didn't want to make anyone seem like they were one. Sazanami shook her wet fur a little, causing droplets of mud and water to be thrown onto the dome's floor.

(( sorry i'm so slow!! D: ))

Thankfully Emil had followed Dimi out to help Sanyu. It was a relief to see that everyone was okay, and there were no other kuniku that were known to be caught up in the storm. As the trio walked into the bubble, Dimi heaved a sigh of relief and set down to check herself over for wounds.
"I'm clear of wounds." She replied to Inari's prompt. Thinking about what Masao had said about hte caves, the thought reminded her of the ones she often went in and out of back home on Hokkaido. Dimi noticed a small pup sitting next to Masao, him looking like he was trying to comfort her. After a few seconds of looking over hte pup, Dimi realized that she had seen a glimpse of her here and there on Hokkaido before coming ot this island.
"Hello, you're from Hokkaido, aren't you?" she inquired, not paying too much attention to the pup's obvious discomfort. "I'm from Hokkaido as well, i miss the nice cold ice nad snow."
While waiting for the youngster to reply, Dimi mentioned to Masao that it is easier to travel if everyon'es bodies are pressed tightly together, because the force of the wind would be broken up between them. So once everybody started inland towards the caves, they should all pack in to a small group and walk slowly together.
