Yup, I'm in a stadium. It's where the Hula Bowl is held. surprised
It was during graduation... so sad! Most of my friends were seniors so now I'm going back to school to no one. crying
Ah, braces are eviiil. I've never worn my rubber bands. Shh! Don't tell my orthodontist... I always lie when I go. That's probably why they keep pushing back the date. But it hurts! And I can't talk when they're on... Seriously. No, SERIOUSLY. They wrap around the front of my mouth and kept my jaw shut. Maybe that would be good once in a while... NOT.
I've never had to use wax. *knocks on wood*
Ack, that sucks. Well, my auntie who is in her thirties is getting braces. And my track coach who is in his twenties has braces. Lots of people are getting braces later on in life... It's almost like a fad. You're still young and at the right age so that it wouldn't be a big deal. ninja
Maybe it was money issues? That was part of my problem. Braces are really expensive. gonk
Satah, what's an expander? Sounds painful.

Braces here are free! surprised Unless it's purely cosmetic. 3nodding I had to have those horrific band things to fix a cross bite, they gave me such horrible headaches. I never want braces again, I don't care if my teeth arn't perfect, I don't want my teeth ruined thankyouverymuch. mad My little sister had to have some major work to get her jaw to expand, it was too small, and would cause major problems later on in life, but the wire that went round her teeth damaged them a bit. crying
Oh stupid media. That's why I ignore it, and would suggest everyone else to. It's just one huge corrupt generalization. Some people just have a very slooow metabolism (sp?) and don't use up much energy at all. I have a pretty medium/slow one I think, because I have to watch what I eat quite carefully. Not because I want to look slim, but because I feel so damn unhealthy and a little ill when I'm overweight, not that I ever have been by alot. But then there's my sister, who's as slim as a rake, and eats things like a sandwich, a packet of crisps, a HUGE cornish pasty, a slice of cake and some grapes for lunch. And yes, that's an actual example... sweatdrop
Aww, KSTU, you should come live with me! I reckon America's media is obsessed with people looking slim, even more so than the english one. I think that's got alot to do with the large percentage of "ethnic minoritys" particularly where I live, who look even more beautiful when "overweight" by the media's standards. Hah.
As for clothes, have you ever thought of making them yourself? I've found that most stuff in the shops isn't very good for me at all, because of my figure. It's all made for an model's shape, and I'm most definately not... xd For instance, most of the shorts and trousers are cut like a man's now; straight down from the waistline. I mean, come on, this is for women? confused So I make a few things that I can wear with other stuff, to make them look better. Like the long waistcoat thing I'm planning on making. Plus, you can get exactly what you want, and it fits just to you. You'd be amazed at how nice it feels when wearing something that you know no-one else can ever wear, because it's one of a kind. biggrin
Try something crazy once in a while. Dye the ends of you hair to match your eyes/top/trousers one day, wear multi-coloured socks and figerless gloves, come to school in a huge black coat and hat so you're all hidden, and swirl around causing mayhem... xd Whatever you like. As long as you know you're beautiful, everyone else will too.

A few people I know make their own clothes. It's pretty nifty! 3nodding
Lol, I can't make clothes for the life of me. All my Barbie dolls always wore the "flour sack" style. I suppose I could try and learn. As for the long coats and such, as soon as I can get a job and actually pay for my own stuff, that sounds like fun. I've never tried to wear those kinds of gloves, save for marching band.

I've never tried to wear those kinds of gloves, save for marching band. xd I could never make barbie doll clothes; it's much harder on a smaller scale. I did make one of my dolls a dress though, she's quite big. I never really played with my barbies much either... dolls are better... xd Hehee, if you do that, show us pictures of the chaos! If you get a big enough hat, I bet teachers will stop you on the way in... ninja Just wear anything! Customize! People here do things like cutting off the feet on tights, and wearing them under crops, with sandals. Or cutting the feet off socks, and wearing them on thier arms, or getting an old jacket from the charity shop, and ripping of the arms, and using the arms to put patches on a pair of trousers so they match. Bwargh, cutting up clothes is theraputic, speshly when you know they only cost like 50p... razz

Misty, you are so nice. *glomps* surprised
Braces...for...free? That's crazy. I wish it were like that here. With the money spent on my braces, we could've gone on a real family vacation that includes traveling. sad
Yeah, the media is stupid. The Enquirer reports on celebrities who have cellulite, everyone makes a big deal about Oprah's weight, there are those makeover shows... It's ridiculous.
As far as clothes, Old Navy is great. It's my favorite store. When they state a size, they mean it. And their jeans are nice and comfy... not gut busting. Eww. I like my jeans loose.
Rainbow toe socks! OMG, I soooo want those. I'd wear them to school and everything. I have this white jacket with two skinny rainbow stripes for the hemming and the hoodie inside has rainbow hearts. A lot of people wanted to steal it... but it's MINE. I luff rainbow stuff. heart

Yeah, it is a bit crazy at the moment, because alot of people are having thier teeth straightened, even though that's cosmetic... confused
Old navy? Never heard of it... sounds cool though! Jeans are always worn loose here... xd You havn't got rainbow toe socks?!! Oh, you poor thing! They're in adundance here! And yes, like rainbow lollipops, though not made of sugar, or round... xd

Old Navy has some really retro commercials.
I like Old Navy's ad campgain a bit, the Coke and Pepsi ad wars, and the Target ads. 3nodding
Coke is all about the old classic times, and Pepsi is the new exciting thing. I love watching their commercials and contrasting and compairing. It's fun. 4laugh
that's why Coke has commericals of people skating in the old fasioned four wheel roller stakes and not the inline roller blades. 3nodding And they have that classic songs and guitar stuffs. The whole, "lets get along and have fun" kinda thing.
Pepsi is all about he new hip thing. The celeberties and all hip teens dancing and the lables that are like "whoosh!'
Coke has the classic red and white. They also like to keep their glass bottled coke as a sort of symbol of the old good days. Pepsi has all that blue red and white with the graphics and stuff behind the logo. They're always up with the times and have the latest music playing in their commercials.

Rainbow everything! Screw those with closed minds that think only gay people like rainbows. Rainbows are so pretty that they should be shared with everyone! If I go to college in Hawaii, I will be a Rainbow Warrior. surprised

Oh, I love this particular coke ad. It's of this man (I'm sure I'm supposed to know who he is, but I don't care about celebrities ninja ) going around good ol' london with a radio and bottles of coke, hugging random people and giving them bottles of coke. It looks like they just did it too; no other actors employed. That's the kind of thing you get round here, it's great! biggrin
Rainbows have no stereotype here! mad I was really surprised to find that rainbows were associated with gay people when it started to become a big thing on Gaia. I was like, ooh, preety rainbow thing! That's a neat idea! ...wait, why do so many people have it in thier sig? confused *clicky* ... *read* ... Oooooh! ... That's weird... I like rainbows! confused

I didn't realize that, KSTU. Now it's really obvious. whee I love, love, love the Coke commercial with all the people singing. "I'd like to buy the world a Coke, Take time to stop and smile. I'd like to world a Coke, And chill with it a while. It's a simple thing!" Have you seen the original from the hippie days? Ah, it makes me have chicken skin every time I see it. It's really touching to me. Misty, I like the sound of your commercial, too. We had a similar one. This lady was singing and passing out Cokes to random people. It was really cool. Rainbow stereotypes are baaadd. Our university had a big debate over their "mascot." We still use rainbows but the logos for sports and such have changed from this: To this: All because some stupid schools were calling us gay. What's up with that?! HOMOPHOBES!! mad I like the old logo waaaaay better.

Yeah, I've seen both those commercials. 3nodding
The Vanilla Coke commecials were kinda funny for a while, but they stopped. Pepsi vanilla didnt really have any commercials that I can remember.
What do you guys think of Target? I can always tell their stuff from any other place, dispite the blantent use of red.
