Heh yeah. I was at a clinic and we only had 2 days to practice this difficult song and we all got lost and stopped halfway through. Our band director had to yell which measure we were at ^__^;;

our band actually did that at our UIL contest and we still managed to get sweepstakes xD the bass clarinets were a little behind and so for some odd reason the bari sax came in early and there was dead silence for a whole 2 seconds. it was bad especially for a varsity group.
we were playing Noisy Wheels of Joy by Eric Whitacre by the way ;]

My junior year in Wind Ensemble we were playing a piece based on Edgar Allen Poe's works. Our director made an error - wasn't //huge//, but he forgot to change meters until a measure too late. The band kinda died, except for percussion, me, and the other first sax. It was a nice solo xD Sounded cool too, because people eventually got the courage to start coming in and playing again so it sounded like a pyramid effect.

We've done that so many times, it's really hard to count. It's mostly when we play out concert music or marching music. The last time we've done that is when we were playing one of our concert music, and everyone stopped at the same time. My BD was pissed.

Yeah. Apparently during my school's Fall Fusion performance (A night where Concert Band, Choir, and the other Fine Arts classes perform) when concert band was playing, We were in the middle of a song called The Long Day Closes, and all of a sudden, The trumpets died, then the Saxophones, then the low brass, the flutes, and the clarinets were the only ones who kept the ensemble alive for 6 measures (Because we got lost while playing the piece)

yeah sort of, during marching season we were going around to the little kid schools and we were playing pep band music. One of the songs we were playing was really fast and really repetitive so its very easy to get lost. all of the trumpets cut off at the same exact time. We kept trying to come back in but it didn't quite work... our BD said that was better than us cutting off at the end of a song.... sweatdrop

Yes.
There was a part of the song where most of us don't play, and it's a solo section. One of the soloists weren't there so we weren't going to do the repeat. But it was hard to know when to come it, and unfortunately I lost count. But apparently a lot of other people did too, because only one person came in at the DS. It was kinda horrible, but we all joined back in the next bar.

For my band, its like one section stops then another stops, then my section stops, then other stops, then its down to the trumpets who died one by one.
