"Oh, you know how it is..." She flashed a little smirk at Flarie. "I suppose this is what I get, eh? Some sort of karma for making you go through it alone?" She hoped that WinK would know that she was teasing... She truly didn't see this all as punishment, but a bit of rest for the weary was never too much to ask, was it?
Toki stood for a moment, returning with the herbal tea that he and 'Vyn had prepared along with the noodle 'soup'. "I know you're going to protest... But eat what you can, Skye. It'll do you some good. Both dog-breath and I learned quite a few things as to what can make one feel better."
"Keep calling me 'dog-breath' and you're going to need to take some of those things yourself." He huffed as he helped himself to a meager amount of food. He'd picked at enough while he was cooking to not feel too hungry at the moment.
Ash giggled as she recalled Thanksgiving the moment that Laire threw something... There had been lots of throwing of things then. Of course, it wasn't a bright idea to throw things in front of Keith... Who just might get the thought to throw them as well.

"Alone?...Nah. It was truly a...scary experience. God forbid I ever do it again," she giggled, swaying slightly. SHe grimaced at the food, not quite sure she was ready to eat yet..
The bunny girl began putting things on her plate, trying to make it look as if she was actually going to eat it. But soon after she filled the plate, she slipped one of the cookies into her mouth, and bit down with a loud crunch, while looking around to see if anyone noticed.
Lana picked up some bread and picked at it, her mind apparently elsewhere. She had been thinking a lot about the quest she needed to go on..SHe needed to know who she was. She just didn't want to do it alone..
She shook her head to clear her mind once again, biting into the bread and watching the others at the table.

WinK grinned and shook his head, taking the teasing just as lightly as Skye hoped it would be. After swallowing a bite he looked at Flarie and his beloved before glancing at Keith and said, "Ah, yes, but would you regret having done it?" Looking at Skye, his eyes overflowing with emotion. "I wouldn't think so."
Keelan was watching the adults as he absently stabbed at a meatball when he heard a crunch. Looking around he spotted the source. How'd she manage to sneak those in without someone noticing? He munched on the meatball, trying not to laugh as Laire looked around, trying to be inconspicuous.
Aurora ate absently, her mind obviously elsewhere. At least she was clean. She'd been submersing herself in gardening like a mad women recently as if she were trying to hide from something or someone. As soon as dinner was over she fully intended to get back to working on the hydro-garden. The water lilies needed tending ...

Her stomach churned, calming only when she sipped at the tea. The broth wasn't helping... But the tea seemed safe enough. She managed to finish about half of the cup before an odd color flooded her face, prompting her to quickly stand and scurry out of the dining room.
Wide-eyed Keith watched his nodel-mam run from the table, glancing down at his plate afterwards. He wondered for a moment if the wolf had put anything into the food... He was always so grumpy... But 'Vyn liked him, didn't he? Deciding that he'd rather not chance it, he pushed his plate away with him. "'m not hungry anymore... Goin' up to room." He nodded before slipping out of his seat, off to get ready for bed.
"Damn... Here I thought I'd done a good job cooking."

"Oh Lord...I wouldn't want to be with her right now. I remember how I was when I was pregnant with keith." She shuddered. Horrid memories...
She blinked, and bent down to Keith before he managed to leave. "Not even going to say goodnight to your mum?"
Much more crunching occured, then finally, Laire pushed her plate away as well. "I'm off to bed too. Much to do in the morning. You know..sitting around the house watching TV. Tiring work it is," she said, walking off with the rest of her stash of cookies hidden safely in a pocket.
Lana just shook her head. "You poisoned her, didn't you 'Vyn?"

WinK blinked, surprised. He was new to this whole 'pregnancy' thing and hesitated before walking to find where Skye had gone in such a shocked state.
Keelan tried to hide a chuckle behind his hand. Family certainly was odd, especially this one. It was perhaps the weirdest thing he'd ever encountered. He kept eating, only halfway done with his food, appetite ravenous as he'd spent the day running around.
Aurora glanced around, watching as Skye left and WinK left to follow, cringing slightly. "Maybe I should go too," she muttered to no one in particular, unaware if anyone even heard her as she set her fork down and stared at her plate.

"So much for a family dinner..." He snorted as he tossed the napkin that had been lying nicely on his lap up onto the table. Of course cleanup would land on both he and the feline that he'd been spending so much time with. Despite their uneasy relationship, the two had been good for each other... Providing some sort of strange comraderie.
"Sorry mum." He muttered, wrapping his little arms around Flarie's middle. "G'nai, mum." That said and a little kiss placed on the redhead's cheek he scampered up to his room before any more talk of poisoned food was done.
"I didn't poison anyone."

The fa'e jumped out of her chair and pointed. "Yes you did! Admit it! You poisoned them!! What poison was it? cyanide? Hmm?? Tell me!" She giggled after she finished, and sat back down, helping herself to Laire's plate, since she obviously didn't want it. "I'm going to die if I eat this."
Flarie shook her head, and dashed off to stop Wink, before he could walk in on something he definalty didn't want to..

WinK was stopped by Flarie just outside the room that Skye had shut herself in. He could hear noises that sounded like ... Looking at Flarie be blinked. "Is she doing what I think she's doing?" His voice sounded a little distraught, but he wanted to help, despite that.
Keelan stabbed a meatball from Keith's barely touched plate and meandered off, yawning. Dinner had been fun, but he was getting tired, so munching contentedly he wandered out of the dining room.
Spotting Keelan walking off with a fork Aurora chased him down and brought the silverware back with a sigh. Looking around she started picking up empty plates or ones that had been abandoned, and carried as many as she could into the kitchen where she unloaded the uneaten food into containers for the 'fridge later and started cleaning, still seemingly distracted by her own thoughts.

"If it's poison you're eating it too." He stuck his tongue out at her before ducking into the kitchen to wash the dishes that Aurora had brought in. After that he would return to his room to pack, most likely... Not like he was going anywhere at the moment but it would be nice to plan.
All of the other's (Ash and Toki) filtered off to their rooms and, soon enough, the dining room was left empty as if the family had never wound up there to begin with.
Upstairs the toilet flushed and the water in the sink ran. Moments later an ill-looking Skye toddled out of the bathroom, wincing as she passed both Flarie and WinK on her way to the bedroom that had been hers before she and the angel had married. It was closer to the bathroom on the second floor anyways... And something about the dark just might be comforting. It was going to be a long night...

"You make me completely miserable..." Skye's Thoughts - August 24th Morning sickness is horrid. I'm so sorry that Flarie had to go through this alone... So very sorry. Mornings turn into night and night turns into day... I sleep to make it go away.
WinK's worried. I'll be fine soon. I hope.
Flarie wasn't sick forever.

___// Paperwork and Pleasantries Somehow she had found the will to leave the house... Her stomach had settled with the aide of saltines and a nice large thermos of herbal tea. Her boys truly had learned quite a few things about healing.
Of course, that wasn't the issue at hand... The issue at hand was the fact that she had heard that certain things weren't exactly up to par and that paperwork had been piling up on her desk. Paperwork. How disgusting.
Then again... It was no more disgusting than the overly happy Jivvin that had refused to leave her side. As long as his mistress was ailing he would stay with her, offering her any sort of help that he could. He couldn't do much... He could wag his tail quite a bit... Or try to entertain her with a story... But, all in all, it was just a nightmare. Especially when it came to... PAPERWORK. ... ... ... Now that he was finally feeling better, the last thing Isto wanted to do was stick around the house. He had been cooped up in his bedroom for roughly two weeks, and that alone annoyed him more than his illness ever could. So the first chance he had found, Isto had taken his bike and roared off... To search for the Veela. When that proved fruitless, he had returned home and, after a short lunch, set out with Cody for the Maban center.
The little centaur had gone ALL morning without seeing his father, and wasn't in the best of moods when isto had finally driven up. But, he had behaved. The teddy bear was doing its job. And with the return of Isto, Cody was just as cheery as ever, trotting along beside his father, darting off every so often only to return seconds later with a flower or feather or leaf. Each time he would hand it to Isto, who would dutifully praise the object, and then Cody would run off for something else and Isto would se the whatever-it-was atop the orange teddy bear he was carrying.
Ah, well, it was for the shorty.
Upon arrival at the center, Isto pushed open the door and quietly stepped inside, holding it open for Cody. Once the centaur had entered, he let the door swing closed and glanced around the room, cracking a grin and waving in greeting when he saw Skye at the front desk. "Hope it's alright for us to drop by... Cody wanted to see if there were any kids around."
The little centaur in question was already exploring the room, and, at present, had managed to squirm underneath a chair, hands closed around one of the legs at he peeked around for something else to conquer. ... ... ... Her eyes went wide as she saw the young man with the brightly colored tail. Finally! A distraction from her work! "Isto, how lovely to see you... My my, hasn't Cody gro--" She cut herself off, nose scrunching as she stood. The last thing she wanted to sound like was someone's crazy old aunt. "Forgive me. I just had a flashback of a family reunion. How are you?"
While the woman talked the Jivvin took to peering around the edge of the desk at the young creature that was nosing around. Aaralyn's tail flickered behind him as he lowered himself to the floor, slowly pulling himself across the floor with his paws as if doing an 'army crawl'. In no time he had made his way stealthily towards the centaur. "What are you doing?" ... ... ... Distraction or not, a conversation was a conversation. Grinning, Isto spared a glance in the general direction he had last seen Cody, searching for a moment before picking him out under the chair. "Aye, it's good to see him a bit bigger, at least. Was so small those first few days..." He shook his head, rolled his eyes at himself, then turned back to Skye with a laugh. "No worries. It's good to see you as well. I'm..doing much better now, thanks. And you?"
Cody wasn't at all bothered by the strange creature peering down at him. After all, he had a Jivvin for a brother! Even if it did have a bunch of shiny parts. The baby centaur peeked out from under the chair at Aara, ducked out of sight for a moment, and finally squirmed free, proudly holding up a large dust bunny for the Afya's inspection. "Baaa defmm!" ... ... ... "They grow far too fast... My boy, Keith? He's sprouting up like a red-headed weed; running around with his wooden sword and slaying his imaginary knights. Tyrant, I tell you." She couldn't help but laugh at that. The boy wasn't nearly as bad as she'd made him out to be... Not yet, at least. He still listened to his mother's... And do his 'uncle dad'. That whole thing still made her head spin.
How was she doing? Sick as a dog came to mind at first but, all things considered, she wasn't really that sick any more. "I'm doing as well as can currently be expected... And I give Flarie much more credit than I'd have ever known for how she handled herself when she had her baby."
At first the Jivvin was convinced that the centaur was trying to play peek-a-boo. It was a strange game... But he knew how to play it. Games were fun. Then, on closer inspection, he noted the ball of wriggling dust in the little boy's hands. He nosed at it gently, turning his head only to sneeze. "Dusty under there... Why don't you come out here?" ... ... ... "Cody...hasn't quite made it to that point just yet. He just sort of runs around and brings back random things he--" Isto paused, only then remembering he was still holding both teddy bear and collection of junk, and set both down on an empty chair before looking back up with a grin. "He's not as clingy anymore, though, so I guess he's growing up a bit."
Grimacing faintly, he automatically glanced to her stomach, then back up, shaking his head slightly. "I admire you both. Yerch...Would hate to be a women, no offense. I've gone through a lot, but I doubt I could deal with that." Watching Alura give birth had been scary enough.
Cody wasn't very fond of the idea, but squirmed free anyway and climbed to his feet, shaking each hooved foot in turn to free himself of most of the dust. Stepping around Aara, he trotted over to Isto, then, realizing his father wasn't carrying his collection anymore, looked around until he found it, carefully setting the dust bunny down atop a leaf.
This done, he smiled and started back for Aara, but paused and turned back, dragging the teddy bear down off the chair and pulling it with him towards the Jivvin, nearly tripping twice in his efforts to show off his toy to his new friend. Because Aara -was- his friend now. "Tee abd gahne bruumpth." ... ... ... "Just you wait... He's still in the 'cute innocent' stage. The moment he hits toddler?" She chuckled softly as she shook her head. She'd always been told that the twos were terrible and that the threes were troublesome... But what on earth could top a five year old with an overactive imagination? "Non-clingy is good though... Means you'll get those precious moments of sleep and 'me-time'."
A slight smirk tugged at the corners of her lips as she followed Isto's gaze to her belly. She'd taken to wearing soft cotton camisole shirts, opting to leave her bodices behind. "I'm showing already? Goodness... This baby really is going to turn me into a house." She shook her head, feeling her cheeks flush slightly at that thought. "Anyways... Speaking of babies... How is your other little one? It's come by now, no doubt. The mother's finally left you and your... Slush... In peace?"
Aara watched the centaur toddle over to his father, raising a brow when the boy returned to him with an oversized bear. He smiled none the less, sniffing the bear slightly before nodding his approval. "Ooh! A toy! Does it have a name?"
... ... ...
"I can hardly wait," Isto drolled, shuddering slightly. Taller, talking Cody. Well, it shouldn't be -that- bad, assuming the no-longer-clingy thing continued. Yeah. Chuckling, Isto nodded. "Aye, and it's about time... I've actually been sick in bed for the past could of weaks. Exhaustion because Cody would never let me sleep...But now it's maybe once a night, 'stead of every ten minutes. Good deal."
Isto blinked, then laughed, shaking his head and rubbing the back of his neck with his normal hand. "Oh, no, er, not really, I just...assumed, y'know? Um. The Veela..?" Isto's smile faltered somewhat, eyes shifting away from Skye. "Er... See, she sort of...ran off a couple of weeks back? And we've been looking for her, but then I got sick, and..." He shrugged helplessly, then hesitantly asked, "She hasn't happened to drop by here, has she..?"
"Ahh..." Cody blinked. Did it have a name? Frowning faintly, Cody sunk down on his haunches, looking more dog-like than centaur for the moment, and chewed thoughtfully on his thumb while he considered the question. Daddy had never mentioned a name that he remembered. It was just the old orange teddy bear. Finally, blinking almost warily, Cody quirked a brow towards the blue Jivvin, speaking around his finger. "Teee...?"
... ... ...
"When Keith first came we set up his room just across the hall from mine and there was a bed in there for either Flarie or I to sleep on should he need us..." She ran her fingers back through her hair slowly, letting a thoughtful look pass over the delicate features of her face. "He's been pretty good with nightmares... I think it's all about trying to be brave."
A fiery eyebrow raised over an icey blue eye, slender arms crossing over her chest. "You lost her? How on earth does a woman that pregnant just get away?" She was trying not to be upset... But just thinking of the baby... Left alone with that horrid woman.
Hearing Skye's voice raise the Jivvin tilted his head back towards her, a slight look of worry slipping over the features of his face. He then looked back to the little one. Little one's shouldn't hear grown-ups being upset... He'd just have to keep Cody distracted. "His name is Tea? My name's Aaralyn. You can call me Aara."
... ... ...
"We keep all the shorties in a nursery down the hall until they're a bit older.. but there's no room for an extra bed because of it. There is a rocking chair, but it's not very comfortable..." Not to say it was impossible to fall asleep in. Isto had already done so many times. "I'm not sure it's nightmares for Cody so much as the dark in general... He just doesn't sleep for more than a short while at a time, and he wakes up and there's no light, so he freaks."
Isto grimaced. "Well it wasn't intentional!" Obviously, brilliance. "And I didn't even know she was gone until a few days after she left.. I'd been spending most of my time with the centaurs, and she was Slush's problem." Sighing, he shook his head. "I've been searching when I can, because she should have had the child by now, and I'm scared she'll...throw it in a lake or something, but I don't know where she would have gone."
The baby centaur wasn't at all bothered by a little argument. He had older siblings, and they argued -all- the time. Of course, they weren't grown ups...but they were certainly tall! "Aaaw," Cody repeated around his finger, considering. It was a good name. He smiled, pulling his finger free and absently wiping it dry on the teddy bear. "Cdeee. Aa Tee. Cdeeee."
... ... ...
"I hope you find her and the child soon, Isto... When you do let me know and I'll do what I can to help you out... But if you can loose a woman..." She let her words trail off as she shook her head, bringing a hand slowly up to her temples. The nausea was returning again and a headache was quick to follow. "We can only hope that she'll grow weary and show up somewhere... With the baby."
"Cody... And 'Aa Tee'? Not Tea? Hrn... That's interesting." His tail flickered around, brushing gently against one of the little boy's hooves. He was alot smaller than Keelan. "I know another centaur... He's alot bigger than you."
"I'll let you know," he promised quietly. Shrugging slightly, he cleared his throat, brightening up a bit. "Well, I mean, she wouldn't have run off with the kid if she didn't intend to keep it, I think. She would have aborted long ago otherwise...Or she would have stayed until the kid was born and left it with us. My guess is she'll get annoyed with having it around and dump it back on our doorstep, or here, or something." Of course, it was only a theory. But one could hope...
Ahha, the Aara had gotten his name right! Cody was very pleased. But he was messing up the bear again. "Nunh, Teee. Nunh Aa Tee." Silly blue Jivvin. It wasn't that hard to understand, was it? Distracted by the subject change, Cody blinked up at the Afya, replacing his finger in his mouth. "Tawh?" What the heck was a centaur? Was Cody a centaur? Cody was a Cody, as far as he knew. ... ... ... "The woman was horrid... Gods only knows what sort of uses she'd have for a child." She snorted softly as she shook her head once more, letting her fingertips fall back down to her sides. "I'm sure we'll hear one way or another... Word tends to travel fast in the land of Gaia. Just the other day there were rumors going around about that Gambino boy again."
'Nunh' sounded alot like the boy, Keith's, 'nuu'. That generally meant 'no' in the strange little language that 'little ones' spoke in. "Then Tea is your bear's name?" Oh my he was confused... This really wasn't like any game he'd played before. Charades involved movements... Not different languages. "Boys with legs like yours." He answered the wee one's question, nudging one of his paws against Cody's hoof. ... ... ... Isto merely nodded, eyes falling momentarily to the floor. With a sigh, he sunk ito one of the empty chairs set around the lobby, automatically running a hand through his 'hawk..then flicking it back into place when he realized what he had done. "Ah, well... She'll show up sooner or later, I'm sure. I'll keep searching in the mean time.
Cody nodded vigorously in reply, positively beaming. It was better than saying Yes. That seemed to get mistaken for other things often, too. But now this blue Jivvin seemed to understand. "Teee," he repeated, just to enforced his point, then, again losing interest, blinked.
There were others like him? Really?! Cody had never seen anyone like him before! Not that he particularly minded, but still! WOW. How amazing was that?! The little boy threw his hands up in excitement, babbling cheerfully in baby talk what was probably a variety of questions to Aaralyn, though none of them were particularly distinguishable. ... ... ... "Would you like some tea? Or something else to drink? The boys sent me off with a thermosfull this morning... And I'm sure there has to be something else back in my office worth drinking." As long as the mini-fridge had remained up and running, of course. How long had it been since she'd gone into her office? Soda didn't go bad... Did it?
Of course not.
Aara did his equivallent of a laugh as he listened to Cody babble on. There was no way that he'd be able to answer all of the 'questions', let alone understand what it was that the boy was talking about. One thing at a time in 'baby-speak' was all he could get. But maybe... Maybe Keelan would understand all of this? That would be worth a try... Next time... He'd make sure. ... ... ... Glancing back up, he smiled, but shook his head. "I'm fine, thank, though Cody might want something..." Trailing off, he glanced around for the little centaur, quirking a brow when he saw the infant chattering excitedly to a blue Jivvin. Aara seemed to be enjoy himself, however, so Isto thought it better not to interrupt them, and instead turned back to Skye. "I didn't know you had a Jivvin. When'd you get him?"
Cody was used to his questions going unanswered, especially when he got excited. He wasn't exactly sure why no one answered him, but he was still used to it. Even his father didn't answer half the time! He'd just sort of sit there looking like he was trying not to laugh. But Cody took that to mean he was making daddy happy, and that was good. He was making this Aara happy too, by the looks of it. Cody positively beamed. ... ... ... "I'm not sure if we have anything for little ones here... Although we should, wouldn't you think?" She laughed, letting a soft smile slip into place over her lips once more. "Oh... Aaralyn? I've had him..." How long had she had him? He'd been harassing both she and her children with his chipper nature for how many months now? "It seems like forever. I was asked if I had any room in my home for another family member and, upon saying yes, I got landed with him. He's... Happy, to say the least."
Yes... To say the very least.
"If you slow down a bit... I might be able to answer you." He said, voice echoing with a slight laughter that sounded quite strange. His tail continued to swish merrily behind him. It wasn't often that he got to talk to someone for so long without having them tell him to go away. Little kids liked being happy... He didn't understand why grown-ups didn't. ... ... ... "You'd think so," Isto replied with a grin, then glanced towards the Jivvin once more. "Ahh, I see. Yes, Moo tends to do that to people. Doesn't warn them about what they're getting in to... At least he's a good babysitter, eh?" Chuckling, Isto turned back to Skye. "I'm surprised I haven't heard of him. Slush and I have a Jivvin...though he doesn't get out very often. And I have a few Jivvin..er...brothers. Comes with living with Moo."
Oh, where to begin. Cody quieted, looking thoughtful, trying to remember one of the many questions he had asked. And then he wasn't quite sure how to phrase it... He really didn't know what enough words meant just yet, sadly. "Eh..." Blinking, Cody pointed a damp finger up at the Jivvin, then down to his own hooves, tapping one thoughtfully. And all of his questions were forgotten. Cody had blue hooves. This Jivvin had blue feet. How cool was that, man? ... ... ... "I'm afraid he doesn't get out much himself... Especially lately. He's insisted on following me everywhere I go because he fears that I'm ill." At that she rolled her eyes, letting a snort-like breath free itself from her slender form. "There's a great grand different between being ill and being pregnant... Illness doesn't last nearly as long." Heavens forbid WinK should hear her say anything like that... "As long as I've had him he's only met one or two others like him... I think they all believe he's just as happy as I know he is."
And that certainly wasn't a question... He followed the drooled pointer of the little boy, eyes going wide when he was certain that he knew what the little one was talking about. "Blue! Yes. I like blue." ... ... ... "How noble," Isto snickered, stealing a glance back towards the Jivvin. "But I'm sure he means well. He's an Afya, aye? Sounds like one, at least.. From what Jack tells me, they're natural healers. It's probably just instinct for him to follow you are while you're, 'scuse, 'ill'." That was a good excuse, anyway. Erk, Isto was glad Faust wasn't overly happy. It was bad enough that the kid spazzed over the slightest bit of dirt. But at least it meant that the house was always clean..
Squealing his approval, Cody clapped his hands and pranced in a little circle, hooves clacking on the floor, babbling excitedly once more. Blue was a good color, he decided. He hadn't really known was it was called before, but now he did. And he had blue, and this Jivvin had blue, so they both must be very good! It made perfect sense, after all. But this Jivvin had something other than blue, too... Almost like the teddy bear, but not quite that bright. Calming somewhat, he pointed to one of Aara's splotches, then to the teddy bear, then back. Cody didn't really have anything of that color. "Eh?"TBC

"Don't worry. Be happy..." Skye's Thoughts - August 29th Thank the gods for small mercies. I was well enough to leave the house the other day... My stomach still twists and turns at odd times but the herbal tea that Toki and 'Vyn have concocted helps. I've moved back into the marriage chamber...
WinK is worried. Horribly so. I've told him that he shouldn't be... That I'm merely pregnant. Not deathly ill. It'll all be over soon enough... Maybe. I'm not really sure as to how this pregnancy will go. Is the gestation time of a dragon any different than a human?
Goodness... Something just dawned on me. Most dragons, to my knowledge of myths, lay eggs. I don't want to lay an egg. Something about it seems like it would be... Painful. Not that giving birth the 'normal' way seems any less painful. But what if the egg broke?
I'm not going to lay an egg. Somewhere growing within me is a perfectly normal child... Well... As normal as a child with a mother who has draconic tendancies and a father that's the High Angel of Water can be.
Everything will be fine. Fine.

__//Black Magic Woman One hand was at her belly as she trudged through the woods. Most of the family wouldn't approve of her being out and about but, at this point, she didn't give a flying rat's a-- That wasn't the point. Back to trudging.
Escape had been needed. The house itself was too still and yet, somewhere within the back of her mind, she knew that something had been brewing. Laylana had left again and the older boys seemed to... Hover. She couldn't stand it... All of them watching her? Making sure that nothing went wrong? Not even the silly Jivvin could understand that she was merely pregnant... Not dying.
Aaralyn had been the only one that she couldn't escape. He followed her as she brushed branches aside for the two to pass by. He may have been clumsy but he didn't miss a beat. Ears remained alert to every sound as they walked. It may have been daylight... But that strange, dark Jivvin might have been around. He didn't want Kuro anywhere near Skye... Especially not when she was like this. "Can't we just... Go back home? Where it's nice? And there are people?"
The woman ignored him as she walked on. They weren't going back home. Not at the moment, at least. She hadn't come this far just to go back now. They'd find somewhere to sit down for a bit and 'relax'... Or maybe she'd end up at work and there'd be something to do there. Wherever the wind blows... ... ... ... Only a short distance, just before the edge of the trees, Moo had finally abandoned the safety of her 'Palace' and braved the strange new land she had been dumped in. Not that she had come alone, of course. It was hard enough getting around in these blasted gowns, and with the added risk of who knows what happening, she had needed a bodyguard. Naturally.
Not that he would be much use. Moo cast a glance towards the young boy walking at her side, quirking a brow. What was his name again? Lee....something? Oh, well, that would have to do. But he had been the only one willing to come, and he had what looked like a glass dagger with him, so that just might be enough protection.
Lyrus, on the other hand, was happy just to be out of the house. New Moo wasn't very good company, but she was certainly better than his brothers. He would have much rathered if Banda had just come home, though... But oh well. Maybe he would drop by soon. ... ... ... Upon exiting the trees she froze, eyebrow raising ever so slightly as she caught site of... The princess? Curious. Then again, she probably didn't look any more at home in the forest at the moment. With her black camisole top stretched over her 'pouch' and a shimmering midnight blue skirt she looked more like an odd fairy lacking wings.
Aaralyn, not having been paying much attention to Skye's chosen trail, found himself bumping into her leg. She responded with a gasp, hand going to her belly for fear that she'd fall upon it. "Aara! Careful... You're so worried, surely you should be watching where you're going..." ... ... ... Aha, people! Or, a person and a Jivvin. Good people owned Jivvins, so this one couldn't be dangerous, aye? Besides, the woman was very pregnant, Moo mused. One could generally run faster than a pregnant woman even when one was in a gown. Thus, Moo was more than happy to meet this person.
"Hello there!" she chirped, gathering her skirt and all but running over, a stumbling Lyrus in her wake. Positively beaming, she paused in front of the woman, nodding politely in greeting and instantly turning her attention to Aaralyn. "My, and you have a Jivvin! Such a lovely blue... What is his name? Oh, and yours, of course?" Smile.
Predicting a dull conversation, Lyrus stepped aside and sunk down to sit on the ground, absently digging the tip of his 'dagger' into a tree root. Hopefully this wouldn't take long and they could go exploring again. Lyrus seriously doubted they would find anything interesting in this forest. Stupid dirty forest. ... ... ... "Ahoy!" She nearly chuckled as she watched the woman scramble towards her. The mere awkwardness of it all was enough to make her want to laugh... But the strange nagging sense that it wouldn't be all together proper to do so kept her from doing it. Instead, she bowed as best as she was able to, silvery blue eyes raising to the other woman afterwards. "I am Skye and this... Lovely blue creature is Aaralyn, my escort."
At mention of his name the Jivvin ceased trying to examine the young boy in order to retreat to Skye's side. He sat at her feet, fluffy tail wrapping around his paws as he looked up to the woman who seemed oddly familiar. He was pleased by the fact that Skye had refered to him as her 'escort' rather than something worse... She could have called him 'Mr. Happy Pants' again.
He didn't even have pants... ... ... ... "A pleasure to meet you," she greeted, completely honestly. There weren't enough normal people in this world anymore. This woman look mostly normal, at least... Mostly. But then, Pod certainly wasn't normal, and he was a perfectly wonderful person. This woman could easily be as well. "I am Saoni, and this is...um..." She blinked, gesturing vaguely to the lamb Sin.
"Lyrus," he offered, rolling his eyes and not bothering to look up. Stupid new Moo, forgetting peoples names as soon as she learned them. There was no doubt in his mind that she would forget Skye's at least twice before their conversation ended, though Aaralyn she might remember... New Moo liked Jivvins a lot.
This became all the more aparent as she began talking once more, delving into the subject. Jivvins were something that she knew. Strange new places hadn't changed that. "Aaralyn, a lovely name. You are an...Afya, if I am correct? I don't have an Afya," she pouted, staring off at a tree. Then, blinking, she resumed, "But I do have an Olplyn and a Daewl, Kama and Scion. And then there's Jack, but.." Her face darkened and she shook her head, shrugging. "He's not important." ... ... ... "A pleasure to meet you as well, Saoni." Something about that felt... Odd. The name didn't seem to suit the woman; even if she was rather dolled up. "And you too, Lyrus." She managed to direct a nod towards the little boy.
She found herself raising an eyebrow as her attentions returned to the other woman. With how much she knew about Jivvins she certainly sounded like the young woman who'd sent Aaralyn into her care. But wasn't her name Moo? Or something like that? She was almost certain that it was...
Aaralyn stared up at the woman in awe of all that she seemed to know. Unable to find his voice he simply nodded shyly, tail flickering against his feet. He didn't seem to mind that Skye glared down at him again. The woman was just so used to him talking that she didn't seem to understand why he sometimes chose not to. ... ... ... "Mmhmm." Moo already seemed to have lost interest. She stared curiously at Aara, then blinked and glanced off through the trees--apparently at absolutely nothing. "I knew another blue Afya once. Seems like so long ago..." She trailed off and was silent, blinking vaguely at the trees.
This annoyed Lyrus to no end. Glancing up, the boy quirked a brow, then sighed and climbed to his feet, leaving his 'dagger' lodged in the tree root. After sending a scowl towards his guardian, he sent an almost apologetic glance to Skye and Aara, muttering, "She's nuts. Just ignore her. It's easier that way. I'm only here to get out of the house 'cause Jax is a buttface." ... ... ... She winced slightly as a pang struck her in the side, quickly brushing it away as nothing. A smile slipped into place as she raised an eyebrow at the little one. "A little nonsense now and then..." She shook her head as she laughed to herself. "Many things can seem like an eternity, Lady Saoni... Even if they've only just happened days ago."
Aara, on the other hand, wasn't interested in the conversation. He nosed at Skye's leg as if silently urging her to sit down. When she ignored him he padded slowly towards the little boy. He seemed to be the only one that was making sense. "Some 'buttfaces' can be found outsde too." Not to mention any dark, crazy Jivvins... ... ... ... "Aye..." Saoni/Moo admitted, but hesitated. How well could she trust this stranger? This...Skye (was it?) seemed nice enough, and had an Afya to boot... Oh well, it couldn't hurt anything, could it? "But everything has changed so much in only a few days time." She sighed, shaking her head, and absently flicked her gown free of a crease. "Even my home has changed... And all of these new people, and none of the old... Except for Pod," she added thoughtfully. "But he's not sure what happened either."
A bit of nonsense, pah. Lyrus wasn't completely sure what nonsense meant, but Moo was flat out crazy, and he doubted that was it. Stupid adults thinking they were so much better than everyone else. He considered sending her a rude gesture, but thought better of it and turned his attention instead to Aaralyn. At least this Jivvin understood. "There are lots of buttfaces. Jax is just the worst one." And that was a fact. ... ... ... "I know how that is... A bit, at least." She shook her head as she tried to recall everything that had been happening in her own home lately... From the marriage months ago to the pregnancy and the children. It was all a bit... Much. "Perhaps you just need to sit down with a pencil and pen and write down everything that's happened... Let someone else take a look at it and see if they note a difference?"
"Dunno 'bout that..." He shook his head slowly. Skye's older son 'Vyn' could be quite a big buttface. He was old enough to be a pretty bad one too. Maybe it was just that Lyrus hadn't met him yet. Either way, his attention span wasn't large enough to keep on that train of thought. "Do you know any games?" ... ... ... "You do?" Moo brightened up immediately, turning hopefully to Skye once more. The suggestion made sense and she nodded, but her smile soon faded somewhat, and she blinked once more. "But...I don't remember anything. I can remember my palace, and the people, and where I was, but suddenly I wake up in exactly the same place, but with different people. And a completely different building! It's maddening," she murmured, sighing.
"Games? Er..." Honestly? Not really. Sure, Lyrus knew tag and hide-and-go-seek, and once a couple of babies had tried to make him play house with them, but Lyrus didn't play many games when it came down to it. He didn't have many people to play with. Besides, his glass things were much more...fun. And his pets were better company than his brothers would ever be. Yeah. "I know...tag? But you'd beat me at that easy. Prolly hide-and-go-seek, too. What games do you know?" ... ... ... "Aye... Everyone has moments where they feel as if everything's changing too fast for them." Her hand rested on her stomach as she spoke, fingers parting as if 'shielding' the wee one within from hearing her words. "It all happens for a reason though. Maybe there's something you need to learn from this strange place and these different people? Don't think of it as madness... Think of it as a learning experience."
His tail flickered as he listened to the list... And the question? Ooh! "Tag's fun... But only if you're fast. Hide-n-seek's fun too... Then there's mimic... An' the quiet game... But I don't like that one." Especially not since 'Vyn tried making him play it all of the time. ... ... ... Happened for a reason? Moo couldn't think of any reason why this might have happened. She just wanted to go back home and have things be normal again. But Pod kept saying she couldn't go back now... Oh, what was going on? She sighed, but nodded slightly, eyes casting downwards. "Perhaps... Aye, maybe you're right. I just have to look at things differently! Perhaps that witch man can help, he seemed to know what was going on... Oh, what was his name..? Sounded like toes...hmm... Strange man." And off she went again, staring blankly at a tree while she attempted to remember.
Lyrus wasn't a very fast runner. He could win tag when he played against some of the other Sins, but they were little, and Jivvins could run fast. "What's mimic? And the quiet game? I haven't heard of those before." Maybe one of those would work. Lyrus would rather not get all messy running around in the forest anyway. ... ... ... As the other woman thought she stood there trying to quell the sudden feeling of nausea that was rising within her. It couldn't have been the sickness again. That had come and passed... Hadn't it? Of course it had. Things like that didn't come back unless... Unless something goes wrong.
"What's mimic? And the quiet game? I haven't heard of those before..." He grinned, trying his best to match his stance with that of the little boy. The first time he'd done this with someone they'd gotten upset with him... He hoped that Lyrus wouldn't. ... ... ... Quite abruptly, Moo seemed to forget about her task and returned her eyes to Skye, watching the woman curiously. After a moment, she cocked her head to the side, holding out a hand, but hesitating. "Are you alright? You're not looking well, I think, though it may just be the light... There's not much of it." Blasted in-the-way trees. At least they were pretty some of the time.
"That's not funny," Lyrus snapped, scowling. He hadn't the faintest idea what a mimic what, and it never once occurred to him that this might be Aaralyn's game. This stupid blue Jivvin was just making fun of him! Pah, Lyrus knew it was too good to be true. His Jivvin nephews were buttmunches too. Still, he could try again. "How do you play them?"
... ... ...
"I'm fine..." She attempted to offer Saoni/Moo a soft smile of sorts only to have it twist into a scowl of uncertainty. Fingertips moved tenderly along her protruding stomach only to grasp as the pain came again. "Ma-maybe not."
His ears flattened as he watched the little boy's reaction. Maybe mimic wasn't a good game to play... Especially if it always landed him in some sort of trouble. "The Quiet Game isn't fun... You have to be really really quiet. I always loose." He didn't think it would be wise to explain mimic. He might only end up in trouble. Again.
As always, with such a short attention span, his train of thought was interrupted by the flickering doubt in his guardian's voice. Pale blue head tilted towards her, maw curving into a slight 'frown' of worry. Ears dipped lower as he padded towards her, gently nudging her leg. "I told you that you should sit down..." ... ... ... "Liar," Moo replied dryly. Catching the slight movement of Skye's fingers, Moo straightened up, nodding as she came to a decision, and took Skye's arm, patting it reassuringly. "I shall escort you to a doctor! Lee...um..Boy with horn! Let's go."
The Quiet Game didn't sound at all interesting in Lyrus' opinion, but he still wanted to know what Mimic was. Lyrus frowned when the Jivvin left him, glaring after the creature and cringing visably when Moo called to him. Bloody crazy woman not remembering his name... "Yeah, yeah, I'm coming," he muttered, retrieving his dagger and replacing it in his belt before stalking over to Moo. .. ... ... "D-- Doctor?" She shook her head vigerously. "No doctor... My husband, WinK, he took me to one and they poked and prodded and ran tests." She scrunched her nose at the very thought, temporarily blind to the discomfort running through her. The last thing she wanted was more needles poked into her. "I'd rather not... Perhaps if I just sit down for a bi-- Ooooh."
Aaralyn's eyes went wide as he nuzzled against the woman's leg. "You're going... Even if that means I have to run aaalll the way back to the house to get the boys." He nodded. He hated feeling like there was nothing he could do for Skye... But he could do that much if she continued to refuse. ... ... ... "Oh, nonono." Chuckling, Moo shook her head, guiding Skye through the trees in the general direction of the center. She could find her bearings from there. "Not one of those new doctors. They weren't where I remember, and I don't trust them... Far too complicated. They're probably really selling parts on the black market or something. I know a better doctor." Or, she had heard of a better doctor. That witch man had mentioned it...Though he had been making fun of said doctor at the time. Oh well.
Lyrus just followed behind for the time, remaining silent. Maybe Moo would forget he was there all together and he could slip off to the center or something. Hopefully. ... ... ... She followed along with the other woman, certain that she wouldn't have been able to resist if she had wanted to. She certainly didn't want Aaralyn running back to alert 'Vyn... Or Toki... Or, heavens forbid, WinK. "There are other doctor's around here? Healers?" She might have been more comfortable with that... She'd trusted them vaguely in the past... Until she'd learned her own way around herbs.
Happy that Skye was complying, the Jivvin took to slipping back alongside the boy. He could watch the other two women while making sure that the little one didn't wander off. "Are adults always this... Stubborn?" ... ... ... "But of course." Well, no. Moo wasn't exactly sure, to be completely honest. She had seen some doctors on that picture box thing that Kama always watched, but they looked like they had been torturning the poor person! And this was the only other Healer Moo had heard of. Excluding the Wild Jivvins, but she doubted they would want to be bothered. "She lives around here somewhere...but I'm not exactly sure where we are. I can find it from the Center place, though."
"Adults are stupid," Lyrus offered, gracing the blue Jivvin with a glance. "The think they're better than everyone else and treat everyone younger than them like dirt. So, yeah, they're stubborn, but only 'cause they don't want to admit that you're right." ... ... ... "If you're..." She gasped softly, biting back the desire to let tears well up in her eyes. "Certain." Maybe she would have been better protesting and letting Aara run back for the boys. No... That was foolishness talking. "The Center, you say? Then I shall certainly have to trust your judgement, my dear woman."
He shook his head slowly. He didn't really think that Skye was stupid... Or that Moo was either. They were just... Female? Did that automatically make them stubborn? It might have. "Maybe..." He sighed softly, ears cocking to listen to the conversation in front of them. "Do you know anything about this... Doctor?" ... ... ... Moo positively beamed. It was rare that anyone trusted her judgement nowadays. Most people would just give her a funny look and do the opposite of whatever she suggested. Especially Jack and that witch man. They must be allied against her. She would deal with that later.
It was only a while before the Center could be seen through the trees, and immediately upon sight of it Moo altered her direction, continuing in the same general direction they had been going, but turning deeper into the forest. "It shouldn't be too long now. I overheard Jack and that witch man speaking about her one day... It's around here somewhere."
"I've never heard of any doctors around here," Lyrus replied quietly. Actually, he hadn't heard much of anything in this forest at all, except that Isto and Jack and Acia always said he should never ever go in it alone. There were four of them here now, though, and that wasn't alone. "I didn't think anyone lived in the forest. Acia always tells me there's bad stuff in here and to stay out. Isto and Jack told her that."

"Something isn't right in this world called confusion..." Skye's Thoughts - September 12th Something's been following me since the doctor's appointment. I feel healthy... But strange inside. There are shadows... Little things... Nothing major. I'm worried.
Maybe I should go talk to someone...
