"Sanz!" I heard a cop yell. "We got something back here!" Nova and I exchanged a glance, then I dashed back to the direction of the voice. A police officer stood in the doorway of a shed. I heard him talking, but didn't know what he was saying. "What's going on?" I yelled, only to be ignored.

Unlike the man dressed in blue with the badge on his chest, Mave heard the man behind him. She whispered a final, "It's all right," to Phoenix, patted her shoulder, and stood up with a frightening speed. "What do you mean, 'what's going on?' ?! Obviously there's been murders, can't you see that?" she snapped rudely, causing the younger girl to flinch behind her. "Oh, but where are my manners?" she asked sarcastically. "I'm Mave Night, vampyre extraordinaire.' She bowed in a mocking fashion before reverting back to a punky stance; she crossed her arms, buckled her knees, and set a scowl upon her face.

"Vampire extraordinaire, eh?" Sanz said. I approached the shed slowly, unsure. The towering female figure intimidated me slightly, but come on. I was a Watcher. I wasn't supposed to be scared of our allies. Right? "I'm sorry, who is she?" I asked rudely. "Never mind, I'm Lukas Morone, member of the W.P.I.S., what are you doing at a crime scene, Ms...?" I trailed off, hoping she would fill in the blank without ignoring my wan try at professionalism.

"You don't need to know that," Mave retorted curtly. "But I'm not the one who did it." She snorted to herself before continuing in a voice unlike her own, pacing. "Oh yes, I murdered these five people brutally, draining one and shredding the others with my super strength, and then came back here to have a cozy little tea party with my dear sister!" Her voice and glare flatlined. "Yeah, likely story." She crossed her arms once more.

"I wasn't accusing you of anything," I said defensively. "But we must take all possibilities into account." I knew I was getting on the boys in blues' nerves by acting like one of them. Good. I hoped they hated it. They deserve some aggravation for all they caused me. "What were you doing back here?" I asked again. "Please answer the question." Actually, I was sounding too professional, even to myself... kinda annoying. Eh, whatever. If it's annoying me, it's annoying the coppers. Yay.

Mave sighed and threw her hands up. "Hell if I know!" Phoenix, whom Mave had forgotten about, whimpered in the back again. "It's all right, baby." She turned back to the Watcher and scrutinized him. "What did you say your name was, again?"

I couldn't help but fall back a step under the girl's slightly venemous gaze. "Lukas Morone," I said. My voice was steady; I wasn't letting on that I was intimidated. Yippee. Point for me. "And how do you not know what you're doing in here?" I continued.

Ignoring the latter question, Mave scrunched up her face and tugged on her hair. "Morone, Morone... why does that sound so familiar?" "Uncle Jimmy!" Phoenix piped up. Noticing she had made a bit of a scene, she lowered her gaze and went back into the fetal position, rocking back and forth. "Oh yeah... Jimmy." Mave glared at him. "Who are your family? I demand to know. Now."

((SORRY! New Year's Eve, I was preparing the party with my friends...I didn't expect to be missed so dearly in just one afternoon. xd stressed ))
I smirked at Charles' amazement; did he take me for a stupid girl, just there for show? Glad I'd made a stand, I watched as he and Lukas approached a girl who had arrived. I was about to follow them, but my left boot untied. And my combat boots aren't all that easy to tie...when I stood up again, they were already entering the house. All three of them, to my surprise. Racing behind them, I stopped by Jamison. "I'm sorry, who is that girl?" "A Lycan. Lukas insisted she joined them. Why, are you jealous?" His gaze was disgusting. Casting him a murderous look, I turned and entered the house. Stupid me; I really should have prepared myself first. The sight was...horrendous. Gathering all my strength not to vomit, I scanned the room. Blood, blood and more blood. My, do I hate crime scenes. Just then, the trio came out from the basement. Lukas was staring at Charles in such a state of bewilderment he didn't even notice me, so I took to following them silently. When Jamison asked for their conclusions, I was as eager as he to hear the answer. That, and I was also slightly embarrassed. I'd let myself fall behind already; not a good omen. But when they told what they thought had happened, I was just plain open-mouthed. It couldn't be. It just couldn't. And yet again, just as I was recovering from the shock and approaching Lukas to get an explanation, he was off again. Timing was not on my side, this evening. With a sigh, I let him go and turned to the Lycan girl. "I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself properly. I'm neither a vampire nor a Watcher, just a plain-old witch, used to dusty books and lengthy incantation. This rat-race kind of looses me." I smiled, for the first time since I had arrived, and extended my hand. "As Lukas said, my name's Terry. I'm afraid I didn't catch yours..."

Just thinking of their faces made me feel ill. I hated them. God, how I hated them....

The smell of dead flesh and decay something that doesn't really bother me. I've seen enough people die... especially by my hands. As I approached the crime scene and began to lift the police tape one of the deputy's said, " get oughta here this is a crime scene." "Just let me through" I said coldly. The deputy reched for his gun. "Well it can't be helped" I thought silently to myself. I grabed the deputy be his neck pinned him to a wall and had a dessert eagle leveled on his fourhead in less than five seconds...

Before the girl that had hidden in the shed could respond, comotion sounded from the front. Without thinking, I had drawn my switchblade and was running full speed ahead for the front of the house. I saw a man, pinning a deputy to the front of the house. "Hey!" I cried. Yeah, so I didn't like the cops. Didn't mean I wanted them hurt or worse. Right? "What do you think you're doing?" I yelled, charging the man and tackling him to the ground before he could answer.

I was pinned to the ground in an instant a switchblade at my throwt then I recognized the arau of power surrounding this person. He was a watcher. I dropped the dessert eagle and said, ...it was only loaded with tranquilizers... Watcher

I studdied the girl in front of me, reaching out to shake her hand. "I'm Nova." I said, smiling at her kindly. I didn't like to be hated, and I really didn't want to be cursed. Hearing a soft thump, I glanced at Terry before jogging up the stairs and out of the house. Seeing Lucas and another man fighting, I thought, I walked forward slowly, watching with an innocent curiosity. "Who's he?" I asked, indicating the man now held with blades at his throat.

Finally relieved that something else had distracted the coppers and Morone, Mave quickly waved to Phoenix. "Come on, Fey, we're leaving." "But what about the..." she breathed, gulped, and went on, "the spider lady?" Mave's mouth went dry before she rushed to Phoenix and yanked her up by the wrist. "Come on, Fey, we're leaving."
