I found a wad of paper the size of a basketball stuffed all the way down the bell of my tuba one year. No wonder it wasn't playing well.

Found a family of rats living in a souzaphone...XDD it was hilarious cause all the girls were jumping into our arms screaming "MICE!!!" we just laughed and picked em' up by their tails and threw em' out. Then one year this kid ran a snake through his trumept and a bunch of luges' came out the other end, it was so nasty. But he caught it all in a piece of paper and gave it to the band director...which was hilarious.

I told my Bd about some of the stuff in the thread, and he told me he once found a hamster and a bunch of cat food in his sousaphone.
He left it on the floor in his house for a couple hours.

I was at all county and they were out of chairs in my section. The director had me take a seat in the back by a tuba. He was fooling around with his marching horn while he was tuneing another tuba. I heard a clank and then, "Oh Sh**." He had dropped the tuner in the tuba. He tilted it up but it wouldn't fall out, so had to unscrew the bell and take it off. It took about fifteen minutes to unearth the tuner. And one time another clarinet swallowed her reed. The director was freaking out. Evryone thought she'd choke to death, but she survived. And went through practice too. ^^

i was coming back from camp (band camp= love) with my alto and i was just cheking everything was good in the case before i checked my suitcase (i was flying home and didn't want any of my quick fix tools confiscated) and i found a clarinet reed (my reed) and i hadn't had my clarinet with me, all the music i thought was in my suitcase, and a bra (don't ask)
in my school tenor i hve found a water bottle, my friend's sheet music "i needed somewhere to store it" he said and post its all over the inside of the bell...
in my tenor at home i have found feathers and a violin bow in the bell
and in my alto during a rehearsal for board show i have found paper towels and my friend accidentally dropped part of his cookie in it.

In fifth grade, a spider had managed to crawl into my clarinet when I wasn't paying attention, and had made it his home. It freaked me out so bad cuz when I was putting it together during band class it felt out and I was petrified of spiders back then, so I just sat there, wide-eyed for half the class. One of my friends finally told the BD and he cleaned the spider web out and found the actual spider later [[which he then squished]] so I was able to play again, but I was still skeptical (sp?) about it. I kept thinking 'what if there's more?' and taking off the mouth piece and looking down my instrument just to make sure that there wasn't another spider crawling up. Yeah, I miss my fifth grade self. lol
