To say the least Aitumn had not expected such a retort, his haunches tucking under slightly in surprise as her tails flicked onto his flank. Oh that Cress, righting himself he gave the blood bay gave a justified snort from his nostrils. A nice little thing that promised to get her back eventually; all in the good sense of fun of course.

However it was his son's wish for tag that got his attention, and the Jala stallion tested his hooves surely and yet uneasily at the same time. He would be stiff no doubt, if not able to move past a jerky trot. Such a thing, he thought, was disgraceful to his normal range of movements, if not down right insulting to Tucker and his will to play. What to do then? What could he possibly do for the little colt entertainment? An old, wry smile twisted onto the stallion's muzzle as the answer came to the front of his mind when bid to do so almost without request. Careful to look in both directions as if checking for any easedroppers, Aitumn lowered his muzzle down to Tucker and quietly whispered into his ear. "Actually, how would you like to hear a secret instead? Its a very long secret, filled with brave stallions and young fillies in need of saving."

As if to beckon his son further, Aitumn tenderly lowered himself down to a laying position onto the chilled grass of Shiral, his body at first moaning with the effort before sighing in delight at how the weight was lifted away from his sore legs. Of course, his head still hurt like a demon from that kick, but he figured he should be alright as long as he did nothing to upset it. Outstretching a feathered wing, he patted the ground beside him, looking at Tucker expectantly, despite how his raised head was nearly the same height as the standing foal's right now. "C'mon, don't ya want to hear what happens to the brave stallions?"

"A see-krit?" He echoed, eyes wide. He hadn't any idea what in the world a see-krit was, but the way Aitumn said it, it must be something really good. With a grin he plopped down beside his father, wriggling his stubby tail in excitement. "See-krit, see-krit! Daddy tell see-krit now?"

Brave stallions? Young fillies in need of saving? He hadn't a clue what these were, either. But, again, if his daddy was excited for such things, then they must be worth while. "See-krit!" He repeated again, grinning up at his father and ruffling his feathered wings. "See-krit now?"

The stallion couldn't help but chuckle at his son's pronouciation of the word 'secret', but chumily place one of his feathered wings over the white colt's body and leaned in close to whisper once again keeping his wing on the other side of Tucker's head as if to muffle what he was saying to anyone who might have been listening. "Yes, I'll tell you the secret now. But we can't tell mommy till after I'm done, alright?" Damn, his head still hurt like a mother, but it was much better now that he was laying down, and even better still with Tucker safe and sound at his side. Gently bobbing Tucker on the head with the tip of his wing he placed it back down, like a blanket over the white colt.

"Years and years ago, back when Urin- the world we live in now- was still new and young; there was a single white stallion with a golden horn and oddly feathered wings. Saaaay, he kinda looked like you! Only he was bigger, and much much older, like me.

Anyway, this white stallion was walking through a deep and sun-shiney valley one day, his whispy mane flowing around his neck as if it had a mind of his own. He had heard of a place far far away, a place that had many pretty young fillies, very beautiful girls, who all lived alone under a giant fruit tree. The white stallion was going to find these fillies, and hopefully find the love he was looking for. You see, love was the most precious, wonderful thing in the world, and whoever found it was considered very lucky among the other nequus. Lucky for us, the white stallion was a prince, a very important and very noble part of his herd.

His father the king had told him about this place, but he had also warned that there was a terrible, terrible monster that was also looking for the fillies. Now, the white stallion, whose name was Prince Puck, had to get there before the terrible terrible monster and warn the fillies of horrible danger.

Prince Puck had ran for days and days without stopping, until finally he came to what he thought must have been the biggest tree in all of Urin! But something very bad must happened here, because the tree looked very sad with all its leaves gone and its fruit scattered amongst the grass. 'Oh no! I'm too late!' he cried out of fear, but truth was he wasn't. From behind the tree stepped an old, skinny, thin mare with eyes dull and red from weeping. "No you're not! You must save them, save my children!' she told Prince Puck, and pointed him in the direction of a lonely lake not very far off. Just before the prince was about to run off to go save the fillies, the lonely mare spoke up once more, whispering very quietly. 'There is only one way to get rid of the monster. You must make him laugh.'

Prince Puck wasn't sure what she meant, but thanked her anyway and went charging over the hill; his golden horn shinning in the bright sun. He could see over the hill now, and looked down at the lonely lake. Out in the water five scared fillies huddled together, crying and wishing there was someone here to save them. Puck was about to go down there and see them, but suddenly something jumped out of the water.

A large, long, bright green monster, with eyes as red as blood slithered its way out of the lake, hissing at the fillies as if to frighten them more. But Prince Puck decided he must put a stop to this, and so he hid himself behind a tree and shouted: "Oolie Oolie Oxen-Free, not many can dare catch me!" The monster was surprised, and whipped its sleek head around, but he couldn't see anything.

'Who dares disturb me?!' it hissed.

Puck smiled at this, and shouted once more. "Only me, and only those who laugh can dare see me.'

The monster wasn't very smart, and wanted to see who the voice belonged too, so in order to do so the monster laughed- and almost instantly he vanished into thin air. Puck had made him laugh, and in doing so he had beat the monster and sent him back to his home in the center of the world, way way far down into the ground where he could never escape again.

Then the fillies ran up to him, laughing and giggling and thanking the prince for saving them from that horrible horrible monster. When they returned to the giant tree, one the fillies said 'I love you', and Prince Puck said 'I love you too', right back to the beautiful, pretty filly.

So Prince Puck had saved the fillies from the terrible green monster, and had found love: the most important thing in the world."
That was Aitumn's story, and though he had to keep the language fairly simple he was rather happy with how it turned out. With a grin down to his son, he wondered what he thought about it.

The young colt eagerly snuggled close to his sire, ears perked and stubby tail wriggling with excitement. Heck, his wings would've been ruffling had his father's own wing not been covering them. He watched Aitumn with wide eyes, and occasionally through the story he would try -- and fail -- to stifle a tell-tale yawn.

As soon as his daddy had finished, however, he was at attention and wriggling in place again, trying to keep from giggling. "Daddy see-krits fun!" He meant something akin to good or entertaining, but he didn't know of any words for such things, so fun was the best he could come up with. "'Nother see-krit, daddy? 'Nother?" He asked eagerly. It was true, he didn't understand the majority of what his father had said, but it sounded magnificent all the same, especially with how Aitumn had told it.

Aitumn couldn't help but chuckle good-heartedly at his son's enjoyment, it was great to hear that he indeed had an audience for his fathoms of fantasy and inspiration. With a smirk on his face, he craned his neck downward to nibble at his Tucker's short forelock in a sort of noogie kinda way. "More? I'm afraid that's the only secret I know right now. Daddy's very tired though, so he'll know more later", he explained, bopping the young foal gently on the head with the tip of his wing once more. It was great to spend time with his little white colt, even if he did have a splitting headache at the moment. However, he hadn't been lying about being tired at all, and he had seen the little thing yawn quite a few times during the tale. If he was lucky, he could get the scamp to agree to take a nap with him. "You tired, Prince Tuck?"

A rather large yawn overtook the young colt and he shut his eyes from the force of it, then shook his head to try and wake himself up more. "No tired," he murmured, nuzzling his nose into his father's shoulder and getting comfortable. He didn't understand what 'later' or 'prince' meant, but he did know the word 'tired,' and he most certainly was NOT tired, not at all, not in the least, no way, no-- and another yawn. He shook his head again, not wanting to accept the defeat that even if he persisted he was tired, Aitumn was and there would be no more see-krits for now. "Not tired..." He murmured again before snuggling up to his daddy's side, quickly falling asleep.
