Hi! My name is Kairi (but call me Anguis wink ) and I'm 16 years old. I live in Estonia, it's a small country in Northern Europe. I'm fond of music, I like to sing, and I can play several instruments like piano, flute, guitar etc. Last year, when I was in a music shop, I found a cd that had a very beautiful cover but I had never heard of the band before (Dream Theatre). It was Train of Thought and I decided to buy it. I usually don't buy cds just because of the cover but I had a feeling that there might be really really cool songs. When I got home I found out that I had made the right desicion - their songs are awesome. And from that point I'm a fan of Dream Theatre biggrin

Erm hello. I'm Jeff (aka Ibun) and I got invited here for some reason. While I do like Dream Theater, I would say they are probably not in my Top 10 favorite bands. Though I don't want to alienate myself by insulting the band, so I will just say I am a proghead, metalhead, skahead, punkhead, and gothhead. I sometimes write CD reviews and do online DJing.

Um...hi all. Jonathan Morales, AKA Zero Lionheart here. I like DT, they are in my top 20. I'm more of a Folk/Prog/Power metal head, but sometimes bands like Dream Theater and Spiral Architect get in my faves. list.

Upon receiving an invite I first stared for a minute then laughed, since I can't even remember the last time I posted in the metal forum. I bid thee all hello.
Name's Stacey, I'm 18 and live in Saskatoon, Canada. It's in the lovely FORKING COLD province of Saskatchewan, which I'm sure most of you could never hope to pronounce without hearing it first. Aside from being a complete anime dork and World of Warcraft adict I curently attend university and am apsiring to receive a degree in geology. Yes, I want to study rocks. It's quite fun. I now know which rocks would inflict a lot of damage if I were to chuck them at someone's head. biggrin
I have a weird sense of humour. Don't let that discourage you, I'm really not that much of a malicious person. Unless you want to talk to me about Morrowind for 4 hours. Then suffering would be an understatement.
Generally I listen to power metal. My top favourite metal bands are Fjoergyn, Rhapsody and Nightwish. But it trutly changes from month to month... I can't keep favourites when it comes to music. I go through cycles of absolute undying love. Dream Theater will probably pass through there some day. In the meantime they float in the wonderful land of like. I'm certainly a bit more fenatical about the progressive band OSI (Office of Strategic Influences) which former DT member Kevin Moore played a huge role in. It's honestly the greatest thing in progressive since Pink Floyd.
I ranble a lot... =D

Well, the interesting fellow above me with a name I can highly agree with seems to realise I like DT a lot. =D I signed on this morning, and lo and behold, a guild with GOOD TASTE?! It didn't seem possible! So, yeah, here I am. I'm fifteen and not female, and my favourite bands are Agalloch, Dream Theater, Ayreon and Arcturus.

Hello all, My name is Tiffany, I'm 17 and live in New Mexico, US. I also got invited to join this guild. I only recently got into DT, but I am already in absolute love. I listen to mostly metal, but I also listen to some rock and punk. My favorite bands are (in almost sorta order) Lacuna Coil, Opeth, In Flames, Dream Theater, The Used, Nightwish, and Midnattsol. If you wish to know anything else about me just ask.

I joined more or less because I received an invite and thought wow, I'm special! Dream Theater is the epitome of all that is awesome. Sure I'll join! But apparently many people receive invites. I thought it was just me, but no. You say that to everyone. I'm not special.
So, this is how you treat people?
But, no. For serious. I'm Bethany. I am awesome. People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks. Years later, a doctor will tell me that I have an I.Q. of 48 and am what some people call mentally retarded.
Other artists I listen to consist of: Marilyn Manson, Christian Death, Rozz Williams, AFI, Misfits, Danzig, Samhain, Nine Inch Nails, Blind Guardian, Graveworm, Agalloch, David Bowie, Demons & Wizards, Dr. Hook, Opeth, 45 Grave, Blitzkid, Nightwish, Iced Earth, Dragonforce, Darkseed, Helloween, Korpiklaani, Cruachan, Tiger Army, etcetera, etcetera.
I don't like limiting my listening material to just one genre or style. My taste is diverse. I've noticed people seem to be completely ******** paranoid about what others think of their music taste so they dismiss anything as soon as it receives too much attention because they're afraid of being hounded on by the elitist music fans that think the mainstream is nothing but evil. In reality it's just pretending to like whatever your peers say is cool. Basically the same thing as what the people who adore MTV's trendy poster-children do, just under a different name. And that's not cool.
It's silly and I think that people who listen to a band that's mainstream feel the need to call it a guilty pleasure should go play leapfrog with a lawn mower and then maybe beat their face in with a brick for a few hours. If you listen to a more popular artist and can say that you enjoy and find meaning in their music, then why not say so? Sure, there'll always be that one idiot who tells you your taste in music is "bad" because certain things appeal to you that don't them, but it's a matter of public knowledge that they taste like soot and poo anyway, so their opinion doesn't count. They lose at life. As you can imagine, I meet many, many people as previously described since one of my all-time favorite artists is Marilyn Manson. If you really give the music a chance (and research the lyrics and concepts of the albums obsessively like me), it's pretty ******** cool. I'm flamboyant about the "bad" artists I listen to.
But, yes. The only thing better than James LaBrie is two James LaBrie's having gay sex. cool

I'm Lee i'm 17. I love music of any kind but DT is probably my favorite band. I listen to a lot of techno and dance music. I'm a chronic lurker...so just because i'm not posting doesn't mean i'm not visiting the guild. I'll post every now and then. I also frequent about 5 other forums and I try to keep only one window up at a time to keep my computer from having a spazz. I'm a pixel artist and I love mspaint and blah blah blah
