He shook is head at her question then realized that she wouldn't have been able to see it. "Not lost. Wandering." Trying to make a home for himself and trying to grow into his wings. He still had a bit of growing to do himself but it seemed like his wings were going to stay the size they were.
"You?"

"Thinking." She said softly, glancing down at the ground that moved beneath her as her hooves carried her foward. "I started walking and I hadn't realized just how far I'd come until I found the pond... And then I just started thinking... And then you came. It is good to see you again, Mordecai... But I've said that already, haven't I?" She said sheepishly.

"You did." He pushed a few branches out of the way with his wings as things started to thin out. The clearing wasn't far from here as he remembered this tree. It always caught on his wings when he wasn't paying attention. "shouldn't think so hard you get lost in time"

"I wasn't trying to lose myself..." Her brow furrowed slightly as her head lowered a bit further at the slight chastisement. For a moment she felt almost as if she were walking alongside her winged brother instead of the friend she'd made when younger.

"Did not say you were." He had only said that you shouldn't think that hard. He supposed it would be alright if you did that when curled up somewhere safe and not wandering about. That way while you were lost you were still somewhere that you could be found.

"No, but..." Her nose wrinkled slightly as she shook her head. "Don't you ever have moments when there are thoughts in your head and they just... Won't go away... So you can't help but linger on them? Maybe it's just the weather... I never seemed to think this much when the sun was warm and the grass was green." Then again, she had also been very young when that had happened and it had yet to settle on her that various thoughts came with age... Especially when one was at an awkward age.

He tilted his head and thought about that for a moment. "Sometimes ... when i'm alone." Usually he stopped somewhere to think though instead of wandering around. With his thoughts it would have been easy to wander himself into a circle and not know where he'd gone at all.

She glanced at him from the corner of her eye for a moment before putting her focus back on the path before her. "... What do you think about, Mordecai?"

"Lots of things." He ruffled his feathers for a moment as they moved into the clearing. There could always be any number of things on his mind. Most of them were odd thoughts or things that he wasn't likely to share with others.

"Oh..." She glanced down at the ground again before tilting her head towards the sky. The last of the purples remaining from the setting sun were slowly fading as night settled in to blanket the sky. It would probaby be better to just... Lie down and sleep rather than remain awake and thinking... Or attempting any more bits of awkward conversation.

He wandered into the clearing and stretched his wings out once he had the chance. They were getting cramped having to be tucked so tight to get though the trees. How birds delt with it he had no idea.

Sighing softly she made her way towards the stone wall, flopping down carelessly beside it. She pulled her wings closer to her body, turning her head to rest it against her shoulder. Even if she didn't sleep right away she could at least try to pretend or something.

He wandered around the clearing for a bit making sure that nothing else had been using it before he moved back toward the stone wall and Nyx. She looked like she was trying to go to sleep so he didn't want to bother her.
Laying down carefully he draped a wing over her and the others over himself. At least it would be warmer that way if it decided to snow again.

She tensed slightly when she felt his wing drape over her, relaxing after a moment only to shift closer to him. She sighed softly as she leaned in, resting her head against his shoulder as she would have done to someone had she been at home instead of out here, wherever 'here' was. "Good night, Mordecai..."
