My very first was voice if you're one of those people who think it counts lol. Then started piano, then a few months later I started the flute for band, then switched to clarinet for band, but kept teaching myself flute, and three years ago I started guitar....So yeah piano was my first I guess, I loves me some Steinway & Sons.

Mine was the clarinet when we were choosing instruments in grade five for grade six. It was also my first instrument to actually play. I would have done percussion. My teacher said I would be re4ally good at it, but my mom said that she had her clarinet at home, so why spend money when you don't need to. I don't regret playing the clarinet, becausenow I know how to read notes. When you play instruments besides the percussion, you learn notes and rythms, so doing percusion isn't so hard if you know both.
I hope to play every instrument in the band at least once ^^

The first instrument I played was one of those little kid electric piano things. I learned "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on it. Then of course, the recorder in fourth grade, and then finally the flute in fifth grade and stuck with it ever since.

I think the first instrument I played was one of those plastic recorders in 2nd grade. It was either that or a keyboard. I also remember a kazoo, but I don't think it was my first instrument.
Maybe it was a rubber band...does that count? I used to play with rubber bands all the time as a kid.

first instrument? the flute. five years. last year I switched to tuba. it is my one true love. 3nodding I march it (sousaphone style. xD) and I play it in Concert Band 1 (heck yess.) I'm also learning the alto sax. biggrin

Well, if you want to get technical, my first was a recorder. Then when we chose instruments right before 5th grade (my mum helped) I picked trombone, cuz I couldn't make a sound out of clarinet, flute, or trumpet (course now I can), and it was between sax and trombone. The trombone looked cooler, so I chose that. 3nodding
So trombone 5 years, and in 7th grade I played tuba. Haven't had the chance since, though.

You? wow piano first, now trumpet, soon French Horn smile the trumpet was my instrument of choice, but my band director already had 12 trumpets and he was "FULL" and he chose me for low brass for my "small" mouth

My first instrument was the Tuba. I refused to switch from Baritone, and instead started with playing the tuba.
I was the only person who didn't have to sit through the "How to put your instrumnet together" lectures.

so gave it up, joined the band, got a Sax
