So, I've now got four daughters and a grandson. Man, do I feel old. Gaia's really messed up sometimes. I mean, it wasn't that long ago when Reign and Ala were just toddlers. Now Ala's growing up and hitting her teenage years and Reign's already moved out and ended up with a kid. Silly D-corp. I really need to talk with Alan about that whole deal... The tech even had the nerve to threaten me with another child if I tried interfering!
But now, the leaf has sprouted and we now have Evelyn at the house. And another corporation is following after D-corp and threatened me to take in Allete. So I've got three girls around the house. Reign comes over every now and then, but Cassi's scared of Allete and Bob. He's also still nervous around Ala. Evelyn, he seems to get along a bit better with.
The cooking alphabet lesson was a lot of fun. Now Evelyn sings the song really softly all the time. Allete was more excited about eating the cookies and was upset when they were all gone. Then she went and flopped onto the couch and turned on the TV. I'm a bit concerned about her. She needs to get out and about more... Evelyn seems rather shy, but she plays well by herself and can often get Cassi to play with her some when he comes over.
Ala's now pressing me to teach her how to drive and get her a car. I don't really understand why. After all, Bob's big enough to start flying her places now, but she still wants to learn to drive. I guess she's jealous because Reign's been looking at cars lately. I took Reign out to teach her to drive because she does need a car to get around on her own.

Cassi came over today! I like it when Cassi comes over. He likes to play dress up with me and have tea parties! I wish he'd come over more... but Ala and Allete scare him as does Bob... Cassi calls Mommy 'Mama'. When I asked Mommy about it, she said that Cassi is my nephew and that Cassi's mommy is my sister. Strange, because Reign is much bigger and Cassi's little, like me!
But Ala said the same thing. I don't remember Reign living with us, but Mommy said that she used to, before she and Cassi moved into their own home. In fact, I have Reign's old room, Mommy said. I like it. It's very pretty. Reign likes pink and so does Cassi. I wanna go over to see them sometime and Mommy said I could, but that I couldn't tell Allete about it if I did. It's because she scares Cassi and I don't! I hope I get to go see Cassi's home. We'd have fun there without Allete and Ala always around...

So, it's been awhile since I've written. Things have been busy. Allete had a flying class at the facility where she was produced. That... didn't go too well. She fell asleep. Probably from exertion. That kid needs more exercise... Though she doesn't seem to be getting fat or anything. Must be related to her DNA or something.
Speaking of DNA, Allete got to meet one of her 'parents'. And I can tell where her laziness and sleepiness come from! The guy could hardly keep his eyes open to talk to Allete. He's also where she got her horns and scales and one set of her wings. The techs said she'd get to meet her other parent when she got a bit older. I wonder what that one will be like...
Ala's still a teenager, which worries me a bit. She can get rather cranky at times. But... what am I to do? I just hope she'll grow out of it and fast. She and Bob have been having lots of classes and Bob's learned to breathe fire. Which is rather frightening. I just hope he won't burn the house down on accident or something.
Evelyn... is still Evelyn. She needs more friends. The girl's so shy, which is good when dealing with Cassi, but she doesn't speak to anyone else, really. I think the age gap between Ala and her doesn't help much. Ala's a teenager and she's constantly surrounded by little kids at home. Even when Reign comes over, Cassi is along with her, so I think Ala's tired of the little ones. She'd stay with Reign if it weren't for the fact that Cassi's terrified of Bob and still unsure about Ala.
My family is definitely unique... and probably rather insane. Sometimes I wonder how we all make it through the day...

It's quest time!
Evelyn's a pretty timid girl - we'll need to do something about that! It looks like an adventure is in order. It doesn't matter where Evelyn heads off to, just that she faces some obstacle and comes back even just a little bit braver. She doesn't even have to do it by herself if she doesn't want to! And since it's autumn, have her pick up a little souvenir of the season while she's at it, okay?
This quest should be between 800 and 1200 words at least. Let us know how it goes!

Shopping~
So what if Thanksgiving hadn't exactly come yet? People were still getting geared up for Christmas. The mall was already getting packed with shoppers desperate to get the hot items before they sold out completely. On an chilly Saturday morning, Evelyn found herself with her mother at one such packed mall. The girl had a little purse with her preciously saved money within. She wanted to get Cassi a Christmas present and had been saving just for that purpose.
They fought their way through the masses towards one of the busiest areas of the mall: the toy store. The place was a mess, with items knocked off the shelves and kids running up and down the aisles wildly while parents tried to find that certain toy their kid had wanted...
Evelyn quickly noticed that the store seemed split between boys and girls... with the dolls and dress up and stuffed animals clustered on one side while cars and trucks and action figures were on the other. She headed towards the girls side and started to search. Cassi wasn't much into dolls like she was... though she paused for a bit to look at some before heading on. Cassi liked dress up. Evelyn headed towards the dress up section. Princess wands... fairy costumes... She frowned. Some of this stuff was expensive. Way more than what she had.
Aha! There! The perfect item!! Well, it was once she figured out exactly what the box was. "Pretty Pretty Princess?" She looked at the cover. "OH! It's a game!" She grinned as she figured it out and looked inside her purse to make sure that she had enough for the game. A quick count confirmed that she did and she reached out to grab the box.
"Oof!" Evelyn was suddenly shoved aside from behind. She glanced up to see a rather hefty mother grabbing the toy she'd been about to get. Frowning, the girl started to get up and get another when she realized that the shelf was empty. That had been the last one!
Tears welled up in Evelyn's eyes as she turned to find her mother to make the mean woman give her the game. But... Niki was not behind her like she'd thought. Her mother had gone off to look for gifts, it seemed, and Evelyn was all alone to face the woman. This fact scared her. But the woman was already moving off, impatient to buy the thing and get out of the store.
Evelyn hesitated for a moment before finally running to catch up and tug on the woman's sleeve. "Umm.. uh..." She muttered, her voice soft. A string of nonsense followed, making the woman scowl.
"What? I'm in a hurry!" She started to turn to leave.
"I WANT THAT!" Evelyn blurted out, startled by the shout. Had she just...? She reached up, her hand shaking, to point at the box the woman had stuck under one arm. "For... for Cassi... I wanted to get that for Cassi..."
The woman looked a bit startled, but grunted. "Tough luck kid. I've been searching all over town for this!" She started to leave once again.
Evelyn couldn't believe it. This woman was so mean... She started to cry. "B-b-b-but... I saw it first... YOU PUSHED ME!"
All of the shouting had started to draw a crowd of both children and adults, the latter of whom muttered at this new revelation. "The nerve of her. To push a kid aside for a toy." One mother muttered, loudly enough to be heard by the offending woman.
"Evelyn?" A familiar voice rose over the crowd as Niki shoved her way towards her daughter, who had by now collapsed on the floor crying. "What's wrong, sweetie?" The woman knelt by the child.
"She pushed me! And took the toy for Cassi!" Evelyn sobbed, clinging to her mother.
Under so much attention, the other woman could only look for an escape. This was not going well... As Niki stood, the woman shoved the toy at her. "Here! Sorry!" With that rather abrupt apology, she pushed her way out of the store and away from the disapproving glances.
With the conflict now over, the crowd began to lose interest and Niki consoled her daughter. "It's okay, Evelyn.... Shhh...." Nikiana knelt by the girl once more, the toy in one arm. "See? She let you have it after all." She glanced at the toy and couldn't help but chuckle. Her grandson would love it. "And I'm sure Cassi will be very happy that you found such a nice toy for him."
As Evelyn's sobs dissolved into hiccups, she finally calmed down and took the toy from her mother, holding it tightly against her so that no one else could take it. She started towards the check out when her mother gently took her arm. Puzzled, she followed as her mother led her across the store.
"Here, pick out a doll, Evelyn." Niki smiled, gesturing towards the doll aisle. "Since that woman was so mean..." She relaxed as a smile came back to her daughter's face.
Still clutching the Pretty Pretty Princess game, Evelyn slowly walked down the aisle, peering at each doll. Finally she paused and picked up one of the doll boxes. "This one." She stated, juggling the two toys to turn the doll so her mother could see.
"I Dream of Autumn Barbie?" Niki smiled. The doll's outfit was actually nice looking, with the appearance of leaves in the flow of the skirt. "A very pretty one, Evelyn."
"She looks like the trees..." Evelyn told her mother as the two walked towards the check outs.
"She sure does. Do you like fall?"
The girl nodded. "It's pretty outside. Like spring is with f'owers."
Niki laughed. "Well, I know you like flowers. Too bad winter's too cold for them... How about we get some flower seeds? You can grow some inside your room this winter?"
Evelyn smiled and nodded. Now where they would find flower seeds this late in the year, who knew. But Niki would try. Heck, if nothing else, maybe Tara could do some of her magic stuffs. The woman grinned. She should really talk with Tara... it'd been a while since they'd last gotten together...
Finally finished with their shopping adventure, the two females left the mall to find a nursery. Some flowers could really brighten the house up.

Alice snuck up to the door of the house. Her mum had warned her that people were often busy at Christmas and so it would be better not to drop in unannouced so instead she had decided to just leave her gift at the door. She carefully put her package where it wouldn't get knocked but where it would be seen, she hoped that Evelyn liked it. When she was shopping with her mum she had seen it and thought of Evelyn. Merry Christmas from Alice and Kiri.

Oh, it's been a while since I've written... I should really get back into the groove of writing in this more often... Guess life's just really busy. My three girls still at home are growing up and Reign comes to visit less often...
Ala... has had the least amount of changing. She's not really been doing much other than her normal classes. She and Bob tend to go flying, probably to escape this crazy place. But I'm a little worried. She hasn't seemed to be making many new friends.
Evelyn has grown and I was a little worried about what happened at the Halloween party. All the kids just... disappeared. But Evelyn said it was a weird place... different. She hasn't really said much else about it. She can't wait for spring to arrive. She wants to plant a flower garden in the backyard. I just hope the imps and minidragons don't wreck it...
Allete... oh boy Allete. She had a few classes at the facility (she still hates going there... what on earth did they do to her before I got her?!) and... they went okay, I guess. She didn't really fall asleep in either one (almost did in that spirituality one, though...) but crashed in the car on the way home.

Juicy Gossip
Niki was leaving instructions with Ala as she finished getting ready. For the occasion, she'd put on a nice dress, black and almost sexy looking. Probably the closest thing to something sexy that the shy woman would ever wear. The sight of their mother bringing such a dress home had made her daughters question what was going on. Her explanation: well, she had a date. Of course, a date with whom had been the next question, one that Nikiana had avoided answering.
"Make sure Evelyn and Allete are in bed by 9 and you can stay up until 10. No sweets and don't stay up late. I don't know when I'll be home, but you have my cell number. Call me if anything happens. Or you can call Reign. You have her number too. You sure you don't want me to call her and have her come over?"
Ala frowned. "Mom. I can handle it."
Niki nodded, the movement making putting in the earrings she was trying to put in that much harder. The doorbell rang and both women glanced towards the front of the house.
"I'll get it!" Alaqua started towards the front door.
"No, no. Go check on the girls. I'll get it. Love you. Have fun. I'll lock the door behind me and don't open it for anyone." Niki shooed her daughter towards the back of the house before slipping on her shoes and heading towards the door.
Scowling, Ala headed towards her room, slowly. Once she heard her mother opening the front door, she turned and crept down the hallway towards the living room. She could hear a male's voice and then her mother saying something. Suddenly, her mother appeared at the end of the hallway, holding a bunch of flowers.
At the rather pointed look that her mother was giving her, Ala turned and headed towards her room again. She heard the front door close and raced towards the nearest window, which was in Reign's old bedroom. The room had been converted pretty much into a playroom for the three girls still living at home and Allete and Evelyn glanced up as their older sister ran into the room and directly to the window.
"What is it?" Evelyn questioned, worried. Their mother hadn't left them home alone very often, so she was nervous about something bad happening.
"Ssshhh!" Ala scolded her sister, peeking out the window. "Darn, they're already in the car- wait..." She stared for a moment longer. "I'm calling Reign!" She declared.
Evelyn whimpered. "What's wrong? Is something bad happening?? Ala, tell me!"
The koala girl scowled. "Nothing bad. I just want to talk to Reign." She left the room, headed towards her bedroom. Once there, she fished her cell phone out of her pocket and pressed the entry for her sister's phone.
----
Reign had just put Cassi to bed and was relaxing when her cell phone began to ring. She jumped up and quickly grabbed it, not wanting the noise to wake the puppy boy up. "Hello?" She closed her bedroom door as she answered.
Ala grinned. "Hey! Guess what Mom's doing right now?"
Reign blinked, wondering just what their mother was doing to make Ala call her. "Uh... working?" She went with a fairly safe answer.
The koala girl shook her head. "Nooooo," she answered, drawing the word out.
Reign picked up on her sister's tone. "Oooh, something good? What is it?"
"She's on a DATE!"
Reign giggled and flopped onto her bed to settle in for a juicy gossip session with her sister. "A date? Who's the guy?"
"That's just it. Mom wouldn't say. She came home the other day with a new dress and when we asked her about it, she finally admitted that she had a date. We asked her for more about it, but she wouldn't say."
"A new dress? Mom?"
"Yeah, I know. It wasn't something Mom usually wears, either. It was knee length and black. And a bit fancy."
"Really?"
"Yeah. And you want to know the best part?"
"What??"
"They left... in a limo!"
"A limo!!" Reign grinned. The guy must be rich! Way to go Mom!! "Did you see the guy?"
Ala sighed. "No... by the time I got to the window, they'd gotten into the limo already."
"Darn."
"Yeah... he brought flowers, too. I saw them before Mom left."
"Flowers?" Reign thought for a moment. "You think... it could be the same guy that sent flowers to Mom that one time?"
Ala had to think back for a bit. "Those flowers? That was a long time ago!"
"So?"
"So, if it was the same guy, why haven't they had dates before now?"
Reign sighed. Her sister just didn't understand love sometimes. The chimp woman would rather be talking to Evelyn at that point. At least that sister had a love of love stories. "Hey..... do you remember that one night that Mom didn't come home. And she called the next morning and never said where she'd been?"
"That was before the flowers."
"Yeah. But maybe she was out with a guy! After all, the flowers came from a guy and they didn't come that much later than that night."
"This same guy? No way. Plus, she never said she was with a guy."
"But she never said anything about it. Just that something had come up and she'd ended up falling asleep and that she was sorry she hadn't called." Reign pressed on.
Ala shook her head. "Reign, not all love is like fairy tales, you know. Plus, that was a long time ago. She probably had a good reason for not telling us at the time. We were younger then, you know."
"Not that much younger... We were old enough to stay home by ourselves and take care of the twins."
"Well, you were... I was just helping. Mom barely let me off with watching Allete and Evelyn tonight by myself. She almost called you to come watch them."
Reign chuckled. "Mom just worries. She trusts you to watch them. She's just worried that something will happen. She's always worried. She probably worries if you'll try to take them back."
"HEY! I was very little then!"
Reign dissolved into laughter at that. It amused her to no end that she could still get her sister for that supposed ice cream trip. "Don't worry. I told Allete and Evelyn a long time ago to never trust you when you say you're going to take them out for ice cream."
Ala groaned. "Will I ever live that down?"
"Nope!" Reign giggled as she heard her sister groan through the phone again. "Hey, if anything happens... call me before calling Mom. Might as well let her enjoy herself. She works too hard."
"Yeah, she does... she's always busy. I'm glad Bob can fly me to D-corp now for my classes. That's one less place she has to go to, at least."
"You should drop by sometime when Cassi is in class." Reign sighed.
"He still scared of everything?"
"Yes... and he's supposed to go visit his dragon egg soon. I haven't even tried talking to him about that. He'll be terrified..."
At that point, Allete opened the door, Evelyn following along behind her. The shyer, younger girl glanced at Ala. "We're hungry..."
"I want cookies!" Allete demanded.
Alaqua sighed. "I gotta go, Reign. I'll call you sometime and let you know what I get out of Mom." She hung up the phone and looked at her sisters. "Mom said no sweets. But there's some fruit we can eat."
Evelyn smiled and Allete scowled, but both followed the older girl to the kitchen.
---
Reign smiled as she hung up the phone. It was good that her mom was getting to have a bit of fun. After all, Reign herself was actually close in physical age to her mother now. Realistically, she wasn't all that old, but she was a full adult. And even adults deserved some fun.
